Coppa Ristorante ItalianoFirst Visit - Not My LastCoppa has been on our list of new places to try for some time. We finally made it, and we were not disappointed. This has to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the city! Their pizza was the best I've had since my visit to Rome 6 years ago - better than Pizaro, Dolce Vita, Piola (and I love all of those). The Spaghetti Carbonara was indeed something special! Service was impeccable. The chef stop by to visit with us when we first received our meal and then again when were leaving. What a great team at Coppa! We will most certainly be back.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Regular PatronThe wife selected Coppa for dinner on our 30th anniversary if that tells a story...this place is not pretentious, stuffy, over priced, or boring....it is fun, creative, great food, reasonable wine prices all served up with a smile! While the carbonara is a stock dish, I went for the quail piccata...wow. Try the burratta for a starter, it is creamy goodness. Pizza, pasta, meats, seafood...can't go wrong here. Zeppoli (little Italian doughnuts) are our dessert of choice. Love this place!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMCoppa's good food and could talkWe really enjoyed Coppa's the food was good the wine list very fairly priced and noise level allowed for good conversation6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCoppa deliversI love Coppas and have never had a dish I did not enjoy.
I took a beautiful woman for a first date to coppa's. the food was outstanding, but we were seated in the back room with two different parties going on. It was soooo loud that we had to leave so we could have a conversation.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative, imaginative foodI had the seafood salad and my dining partner had the linguine. Both of us had more food then we could eat and it was all delicious!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing FoodThe Lamb Chops were amazing as was the Lemon Semifreddo. They didn't have our first wine but we found another great choice. Friendly service.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent as always,Food was excellent as always, however the service was a little spotty this evening. Not bad, just a few long waits (i.e. for the bread we asked for). On the plus side they replaced at no charge a glass of wine one of my friends ordered, but didn't like. On the down side I got charged $21 extra for some shaved truffles on top of some Pasta. I knew this would be extra and I know Truffles are $$$, but I think they should list the cost on the menu or mention the cost at the time the special is announced, so that people aren't surprised when they receive the check.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great, serviceThe food was great, service was excellent, but views out the window were disappointing - a CVS looming next door, cars in the parking lot right up to the patio seating, and homeless people allowed to walk thru the patio seating right up to the door. No manager seen dealing with the homeless people.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Red fish ever! Food servedBest Red fish ever! Food served nice and hot.
Friendly staff that took care of us well . Loud , tables close to each other. Hopping place with all age groups.
Will definitely go back again.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Italian food inWonderful Italian food in a lovely environment with great service. JoJo was our waitress and she is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. I've been to Coppa 4 times now, and each time can't stay away from the Spaghetti Carbonara. The portion size is just right - big enough to fill you up, but reasonable so you don't feel like a total gluton. My friend had the frutti d' mare salad - looked gorgeous and she loved it as well. We didn't do appetizers this time, but have always enjoyed a random selection of appetizers, and dessert is also worth the calories - whatever you choose. Becoming one of my favorite restaurants in town.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our firstWe really enjoyed our first visit and plan to return soon. The food was excellent and the ambiance was very nice. We enjoyed eating on the patio.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a fabulous waitress,We had a fabulous waitress, she had great recommendations for wine and food to. Grant Copper one of the owners, always comes in the restaurant, he has three so he makes the rounds each night which is important.
They do cotton candy for birthdays and other special occasions, which is a fun!!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is fantastic andThis place is fantastic and located on the west end of Washington Avenue near T.C. Jester. Good service is hard to come by anymore but if you get a chance to go ask for Andrew--this guy has attention to detail down and knows the menu upside down and backwards.
I spent my 44th birthday at Coppa with my wife and son--excellent food, service and atmosphere with a unique music selection as well.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic ItalianThe food and wine are awesome. The service is questionable. Our server was not knowledgeable about the food. Moreover our wine glasses remained empty for a long time and so we decided to serve ourselves.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVery friendly staff all round.Very friendly staff all round. The food is delicious with novel specials. We have tried out half of the menu so far and have enjoyed each dish. The wine prices are very reasonable which is becoming a rarity with many of the good restaurants. As it can be loud when the restaurant is busy we go early.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely a place worth trying.Definitely a place worth trying. The food was 9 stars out of 10. Service was excellent. Valet was a bit chaotic though. And their way of resealing your wine to transport home is wrapping it up in tin foil? I don't see how anyone actually thinks that is a good idea and would pass legally. But overall enjoyed the experience.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food in a very relaxedGood food in a very relaxed and comfortable setting.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service, innovativeImpeccable service, innovative menu. Will go again...3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGive your review a title (optional)I was overall pleased with our dinner, wait staff very friendly and attentive, however I had ordered a Campari on the rocks with a twist of orange. When the bill came I noticed I was charged EXTRA for the ice?? I cannot recall ever being charged for ice in a mixed drink. I was also disappointed with lack of pasta dishes on the menu, the polenta was excellent and the tiramisu was spot on.
Will defiantly return.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent as always.Food was excellent as always. Best Pizza in Texas. Best Carbonara ever.2/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
