A word from Trattoria Bianca
An informal Italian restaurant serving traditional favorites along with excitingly new dishes. Trattoria Bianca is a favorite of locals, business people and travelers in midtown.
Bright and mostly white, it is a sleek reinterpretation of Italian Art Deco along with the owner's collection vintage food and wine posters.
Bianca's menu ranges from a simple bowl of spaghetti carbonara to a Tuscan-style steak and a bottle of old Barolo. Featured dishes: shrimp scampi on soft polenta; frisee salad with fried oysters, poached egg, and pork belly; seafood fritto misto; salmon saltimbocca-style with sage and crispy pancetta; numerous pastas and superb pizzas; Chianti- braised short rib, and lamb shank in rich pan juices. For lunch there are heaping salads and inventive sandwiches using Italian ingredients

Food was good and plenty. Love the pizza. Not a gourmet meal. More meat and potatoes, but sometimes that is really want you want. The service was excellent.

This restaurant is located in the New Yorker Hotel which is convenient. I had dinner there on a Monday night. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ambience was relaxed and romantic. I had a beautifully served Shrimp Oreganata which was delicious! Great for dinner if going to concert or theater event nearby.

I'm not sure if it was the owner or the manager, but he was extemely rude! We wanted to take a cab back to our hotel, and we asked them to call a cab for us. After about 15 minutes, the manager/owner told us that our cab had arrived. We went to get the cab, and it was a limo. Instead of paying $10.00 for a cab, we would have had to pay $25.00. We were then made to feel cheap. In additon, tt was my mother in law's Birthday, and we mentioned it when we made the reservation. We also told our server when we arrived. When we ordered dessert, another server brought the dessert to the table without a candle. Our server completely missed it! It really ruined the surprise. I would not return, and I would discourage anyone from going.

This may be good for tourists. The burger was good. The asian salad was poor. The giant shrimps inedible. No one filled our empty water glasses. The bread basket was ice cold, not good bread. No one cleaned off the table or asked if we wanted coffee. I finally (after 20 minutes and 2 failed attempts to get anyone's attention) had to go to the receptionist desk to ask for someone to take away the now rotting dishes of food on the table.Dishes were taken away table left dirty. $70 dollars later...we left. Unreal!

We loved our waitress - the hostess at the door was rude and not very nice to my husband who arrived later and wanted to find out if there was a table for 3 available. She made him very uncomfortable and did not see him as a customer but just another person "wanting" something....... Your employees are as much a part of the experience as your food and ambience - and this would deter me from coming again - except for the fact that we had a wonderful waitress and the food and wine was great.

3rd time back. Great location if you're visiting MSG for a game, show etc. Also a good place to meet as it is very close to the subway and Madison Square Garden (within 1 block). The food has been consistantly very good as has the service. In my opinion this is a hidden gem and worth a visit if your in the neighborhood.

This was my second time back to Cooper's Tavern. This is a great place for a pre show/game at Madison Square Garden. The food is actually very good and affordable (4 of use paid $88 for 4 main courses ex tip). The restaurant is low key with good service. There is a bar upfront, which does not intrude on the dinning experiance. The service is also persobnable and timely (for a show). Overall, I highly recommend this place for a pre show/game meal or if you just happen to be in the area.
