A word from Cooper's Mill
Located at 670 White Plains Road (Route 119) in Tarrytown, the new restaurant offers a diverse menu ranging from signature flat breads to fresh vegetable dishes, and entrees featuring meat and seafood sourced from local purveyors.
One of the premier dishes on the menu is the 20-ounce Grilled Rib Eye Steak served with broccoli rabe and wild mushroom butter. The menu also includes more basic sandwiches that feature artisanal and specialty ingredients.
Five flat breads are a signature feature of the menu -- fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce and fresh basil; Coach Farms goat cheese, arugula, heirloom tomato and truffle oil; fig, bella bella duck prosciutto, gorgonzola and scallion; portobello, wild mushroom puree, red onion and fontina; and house made ricotta, local mozzarella and caramelized onion – all baked in the custom-made wood-fired oven.

Diner Reviews
  • "Cooper's Mill has an inventive menu using locally sourced ingredients. Caesar salad was huge and tasty. Scallops and risotto had great flavor. The cheese board and pana cotte were divine. Great selection of wines and beers, but prices are a little steep. Atmosphere is fake barn in hotel lobby. Very cold and industrial in feel. The service must improve. Everyone seems to try, but the results are extremely uneven. A little better decor and improved service will make this place a slam dunk."

  • "Flatbread appetizers are really delicious as are salads. I can't recommend succulent seared scallops over saffron risotto because the excess salt on the shellfish makes the coating crustier but brackish. Wines by the glass are excellent and nicely filled."

  • "Had the fried pickles, calamari and the pork sandwich. Sauce for the pickles bland and tasteless. Same for the calamari. The batter coating both was greasy and mushy. The pork in the pork sandwich was tough, dry and tasteless as well. Good place to skip[."

  • "The dishes we selected were done to perfection and did not disappoint. Compliments to the chef. A relaxed and cozy atmosphere and very good service from the serving staff. We will be back."

  • "The menu says "current, fresh and tasty", the vibe says "I'm cool and rustic", the cocktail and beer choices say "I am up with the latest trends and locally sourced ethic". How it all played out was a little less than it first appeared. The drinks were, in fact, great. And the ambiance was, in fact, very cool. However, the food (which is the most important part), was just a few notches above average. I really wanted to like it more, but each dish seemed to be lacking something to send it over the top. Nothing to really complain about - and dessert was GREAT, but overall, it was good, not great. If you get a room in the hotel and avail yourself of the cocktail list THEN it's great :)"

  • "We wanted to try a new place for restaurant week and thought Cooper's Mill had an interesting menu--and still do. We were right about the food, which was good, but would have been better had we not had to wait so long for everything, including water--which we practically had to stand up and wave to get. Our salmon entrees were good, except for the fact that my friend got all fingerling potatoes with hers, while I got all cauliflower. Our waiter was really trying, very nice and was well aware how slow everything was. At the end of our meal, however, we again had to wave to get the check. Would like to go back for the food, but the service is scaring me away!"

  • "Went for Restaurant Week with friends for lunch. Restaurant is big with lots of different areas - booths, tables and chairs, high tables and chairs, etc. Atmosphere was very comfortable with lots of wood and spread out so you don't feel crowded. Our server was excellent. He gave us suggestions, was very attentive and even exchanged an item that was not to my friend's taste. Since we only had the Restaurant Week lunch choices we didn't get to try some of the other items on their regular menu, but everything we had was very good - burger, chicken sandwich and turkey blt. I would definitely recommend Coopers Mill!"

  • "The atmosphere was welcoming and unpretentious. The staff was friendly and provided excellent service. The food was fresh, perfectly prepared, and so nicely plated! We split a crab-cake appetizer that was as big as my husband's fist and just chock full of crab - so yummy and the texture and flavor were out of this world! I had the diver sea scallops and they were perfectly prepared and seasoned - they melted in my mouth. My husband had the 20 oz smoked rib eye steak - it was thick and juicy and had a smoky taste that wasn't overwhelming. There was a nice selection of drinks - my husband had a craft beer and I had a delicious pumpkin cocktail. The desserts are phenomenal!! We are definitely coming back!!"

  • "Although Cooper's Mill sounds nice, the farm to table concept is something that needs to be believed and acted upon and not just described to market and decorate. Everyone was very accommodating and nice, but the food was VERY overpriced and either very over seasoned or not seasoned at all. I am not even sure how farm to table* Cooper's Mill actually is, since it is a Marriott restaurant. This is why I hesitated going at all, but it was a last minute decision to try, and my original feeling was correct. We spent more on this meal, without getting alcohol, than most other similar and genuine restaurants in Manhattan, with drinks. *Example-Sour Patch Gummies homemade ice cream... Very disappointing, and very much a hotel restaurant."

  • "Seems like a typical bar restaurant where the main focus is on the beer and drinks. Food was good, mussels in a very tasty broth, entrees were good but not outstanding. A nice selection of beer and flights to taste before deciding which to order a glass of. Wait staff was very attentive."

  • "Good cocktails... Creative menu.. The most delicious Pork Chop EVER - mouthwatering. (And that was my husband's plate!) I had the salmon (also delicious). Overall, a great intro to the restaurant - I would definitely recommend Cooper's Mill for a delicious dinner out. Our server was also very good, attentive and knowledgeable."

  • "We spend an enjoyable evening here. All the food choices were very good, although I'd say the starters and mains were better than the desserts. The service was professional, friendly, and made us happy."

  • "I bought a groupon because it was very close to where I live and decided to try thi place out! The staff was very nice and knew the menu well. The food was very good... we had the lamb and goat cheese pizza and the mussels to start!! The scallops were okay (a little overpriced at 28$) but since I ha dthe groupon it was fine. Someone else in my party had the burger and that was one of the best he has had. Overall grea experience!! I would likely go back!!"

  • "Despite having made a reservation and being on time for that reservation, we were seated at a high-top table near the bar vs. within the dining room. We were told that it would be another 15 minute wait if we wanted to eat in the dining room. It felt like it took really long to get our drinks and no bread was brought to the table until after our appetizers arrived and I had to ask for it. One of our dinners was incorrect and it took another 15 minutes for it to arrive. The cod was dry and tasteless and the polenta was cold. Despite the error on my friend's dinner, the waitress offered no real apology (a complimentary dessert would have been nice) but the dessert we ordered was bland and soggy."

  • "Its a hotel restaurant - what more do I say? My waitress was 65+ years old and as slow as a snail. Steak was not enjoyable even at $40+. Not many cheaper options. Not a place I'd recommend."

  • "salad and crab cake were delicious. the scallops were good but the puree they were in tasted and smelled like ammonia. that's what stayed with me. the service was attentive and accommodating. It was advertised as farm to table but I didn't any sign of that. I don't think I would go back."

  • "We generally don't consider restaurants that are part of a hotel chain to be anything special but we were pleasantly surprised with Cooper's Mill. It's a place that offers interesting, sophisticated fare at an reasonable price in a comfortable atmosphere with an attentive & gracious staff. I especially liked the list of local beers & ales that are available. Thumbs up for this one!"

  • "we were sitting right under a vent and it was freezing. According to the hostess "oh its this way all over" , I can understand it was a 20 degree night, but being so cold we could not enjoy our meal was a little too much"

  • "Since this establishment has opened i have visited here often. The food is fantastic and the service is impeccable. I especially enjoy the amazing flat breads. I recommend one in particular, the seasonal lamb and goat cheese. It is phenomenal. A true hidden jem of a restaurant in Westchester found inside the Westchester Marriott"

  • "The restaurant just had a makeover recently according to an employee. The menu was just redone within the last two weeks..the tried to get fancy and also break away from the American. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. Coffee was weird tasting. Selections were a little bit odd, but non the less tasted fine...but I would not say great. Service was quite good. Kids menu activity a plus."

  • "The staff was attentive but could have been more knowledgeable about the menu. The menu was recently revised; food (we both had fish) was cooked well, but the accompanying sauces were a little off. A carrot harissa with the cod didn't really go with anything on the plate, and the scallops were in a green but pretty flavorless pesto. Good breads, OK wine selection, craft beers were local. Overall a nice experience, but could use some work. Notable appetizer was the charcuterie selection--would be enough to be an entree for one."

  • "A delightful surprise. While on the first leg of a long trip we stop at the Marriott hotel. We expected something ordinary but were treated to delicious locally sourced food expertly prepared. I had the butternut squash soup and the roasted salmon. Service was prompt and friendly"

  • "Decent wine and beer list with an interesting menu. Staff was attentive and friendly. The squash soup and pear/apple salad were quite good. The mains didn't follow with the same level of distinction. The cod and chive-polenta cake were bland. The lamb was good, but the onion risotto - which sounded so good on the menu - was a stringy cheesy mess. The eggplant purée had a smoked flavor that was intense and overwhelming. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a couple with two very boisterous boys who made the experience so unpleasant that we couldn't stay for dessert. The blaring TVs and proximity to the bar contributed to a lack of atmosphere. Overall, the restaurant seems to have potential, but they're just not quite there (yet?)."

  • "The food was a bit above hotel restaurants but not far above. I ordered the scallops and they were slightly undecooked. My wife ordered the Cod dish and it was perfectly cooked but she was not able to eat the polenta. We also ordered the pork belly appetizer and it was mostly fat. The decor is not great and noise level is fine. The server was good but a bit loud for me. For the price range, I would recommend going to other restaurants in the area."

  • "We loved the warm feel of this place - antique wood paneling and lovely lighting. The food was great - we started with a few delicious salads and a fabulous butternut squash soup with toasted pumpkin seeds. We each had a different entree - each thought their's was the best. Karen, our waitress was wonderful. I will most certainly return."

  • "I'm a total foodie and was really excited to find Cooper's Mill, which was billed as a "farm to table" restaurant in Tarrytown. What I got from the restaurant was average (at best) cooking, with only a few items on the menu that could have possibly been locally sourced (mostly sides and one chicken dish). To me, a true farm to table restaurant has a menu that changes quite frequently based on what's available and in season at the local farms, etc. They also usually talk about their sourcing concept, which farms they work with, and where they get their meats. I should have known better....I was skeptical when I found out this was part of the Marriott. My fears were confirmed."

  • "Took a chance after reading a few iffy reviews and I was glad I did. We were off to a hesitant start but the waitstaff accommodated us by answering all of our questions. Cocktails and wines were very good. Appetizers were tasty crab cakes and acorn squash salad.a bread basket's contents would have been tastier warm. A smoked filet mignon needed a few minutes longer to make it medium-rare, but it was tender and quite tasty. Homemade ice creams are subtly flavored and yummy."

  • "Made a reservation for HV Rest. Week- took a chance as hotel restaurants usually are not all that.. we were pleasantly surprised!! from first to last course, the food was fabulous!! The salad w/acorn squash was HUGE and delicious while the squash soup was divine.the bread was fresh, the entrees were wonderful -- I had the 14 oz pork chop w/pumpkin grits and roasted Brussels sprouts -- flavors all blended nicely. Others had the salmon or the chicken and everyone was raving (mind you this is a foodie dining club - 12 attended - everyone was happy) The desserts were great too - but by time they arrived most of us were really full, so those chocolate bread puddings didn't get finished. Everyone loved it, and most will go back again.."
