Diner Reviews
  • "This time I choose a healthier lite option - beef Medallions with roasted veggies....and by far, my favorite dinner option. We usually get one of the fabulous chicken options...but this time my dinner was outstanding. The only downside...way too loud to really hold a conversation."

  • "We go here occasionally, & just went for our anniversary. Service & food were great, as usual. Noise was at ROAR level, as usual. Good for crowds, not quiet dinners."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "I am gluten free and I was amazed at the size of the gluten free menu. I had the scallops that were large and delicious. And, there were gluten free options on the dessert menu."

  • "I've been dining at Cooper's Hawk for about the last 6 years. I always make a reservation because it's busy more times than not. I only waited for about 5 minutes before being seated. The server was so helpful and nice. She explained different specials to us and was patient when we needed a few minutes. The food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the Caprese flatbread and Pesto Caesar Salad. I've never tasted anything so good! We didn't order drinks this time around as it was a lunch outing, but when I do order drinks, they are always great! The only challenging aspect of dining here is the parking. It can be kind of difficult to find a spot when they get busy. I would definitely return!"

  • "Always enjoy ourselves when we come here. Just one thing - wish they would return to the OLD Calmari - it was soooo delicious!!!"

  • "Other than the fact that I dropped fifty dollars on a dinner for two (even picking the relatively cheaper items on the menu. 2 dishes and an appetizer), I was more than amply impressed. Service was great, food was delicious. Great Place for Dining!"

  • "The food and wine are great! I just wish it was a little quieter. As a wine club member, I love discount on bottles for dinner! This is my go to place for a nice meal!"

  • "We arrive early so that we can participate in the wine tasting. Once completed, we checked in and were seated immediately. Our server was very helpful and pleasean. Our food came out promptly and hot! Overall we really enjoyed our experience."

  • "We came back to get their cranberry wine which we love, and can't find anywhere else. Of course we had to have dinner also, which is always delicious. We ended up buying a case, 12 bottles in total, 6 bottles of cranberry wine and 6 bottles of plum wine all of which are sweet, smooth, and absolutely wonderful. We enjoy the food, the wine and the vibrant atmosphere. Also at the dessert case we grab some goodies to go, for later, which consists of their scrumptious cheesecake lollipops and truffles, not to be misses."

  • "Celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary this past Saturday. We had a wonderful experience. Our server Emily went over the specials and answered all our menu questions. Food was fabulous. Started with the pork belly tostadas and ended with house made truffles. Every part of the meal was delish."

  • "This was my second time visiting Cooper's Hawk, first time at the Orland location. The wine/drinks are ALWAYS good. However... The food was not very tasty. I ordered a fish dish and could not finish 1/4th of my plate.I could not even tell what kind of fish it was based on the taste. The food was so bad I don't even remember what I ordered other than a fish dish... It may have been a fish sandwich now that I think about it... the coleslaw was bad, the fish, everything. My friend ordered chicken that tasted nothing like chicken. I couldnt even tell you what it was supposed to be. Horrible food! I did not know it was possible to screw up a fruit dish but even the fruit dessert (bday) was bad. Great drinks, HORRIBLE food"

  • "Food, Wine and Service were great. The only drawback is that the restaurant is very loud and makes it difficult to have a conversation with dinner companions."

  • "Our entrees in error came out before our appetizer. My entree was put into the kitchen completely wrong, so had to wait to get my correct order. Good thing my husband ordered medium rare since by the time his steak came to the table it was more medium due to it being made and sitting under the hot plates. The manager was very nice about compensating for the entree/appetizer mix up."

  • "This was a really nice restaurant but, I'm not big on wine and that was mainly known for. The food was nice but it wasn't the best "can't wait to go back" experience I thought I would have. Service and atmosphere was perfect just thought it would be a better menu selection. I'll Try again for lunch this spring though."

  • "The Wine Tasting was awesome. I'd been here before, however my mother never been to a wine tasting at all, let alone at Cooper's Hawk. She's a long time wine drinker, and knows what she likes. She enjoyed the wine (and picked one to take home), she enjoyed the food, the flowers that were placed on the table (thanks for putting them out), the company and the ambiance. Our server Karen was great! She has added CH a place to visit in the future. Thanks! 3/22/14"

  • "You only get one chance to make an first impression. My first impression of the Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant was that I was exceptionally impressed! Cooper's Hawk inviting atmosphere a combination of classy styling and beautiful enmities. Exceptionally experienced staff brings a level of service and inviting comfort found only in high level dining. Cooper's Hawk menu delivers an euphoric culinary experience, the presentation and quality surpassed all my expectations. A divine blend of freshness and seasoning delivers a cataclysmic taste leaving you savoring every bite. A diamond in the rough of the Midwest winery scene, Cooper's Hawk delivers on all standard levels of wine making and is in a class of its own in its signature wines!"

  • "Good portion... limited surf and turf option. Waiter seemed a bit distracted and had too many tables but the wine made up for it. Lol"

  • "Seated right away...always a plus. We had to send 2 dishes (our filets) back as they were over cooked. Once returned, they were delicious/perfect. salmon awesome as well as the chicken. service seemed slower than usual. We had to ask another server to get our waitress for us once our meals were served. We were seated in a corner and felt like we were hidden. Crab/Lobster bisque great as usual. If we hadn't already dined here a number of times, we'd been turned off to come back but have had great service/meals in the past. Miss the baby green salad and the Cowboy ribeye."

  • "After reading some other reviews of this place I was enthusiastic about trying it, even though I knew next to nothing about this restaurant chain. The thrust of this enterprise seems to be pushing wine sales, as we were confronted at every turn with entreaties to sample the wines. The two we did submit to tasting were pretty poor, IMHO, but, whatever. We settled for mixed drinks only to find that the "wine expert" bartender didn't know the difference between a Manhattan (ordered) and a whiskey sour (delivered). The meal was mediocre at best, also, and were it not for the attentiveness of our server we would have been treated to another foul-up on our entree order. Very little chance of a return to this place. Very average at best."

  • "My husband and I dine at Coopers Hawk often and are never disappointed. The service is excellent and the staff always make us feel welcome. It is not unusual for a manager to stop by our table to make sure we are enjoying our dinner. Concerning the food, I have not tried a meal that I did not like. One of my favorites is the Trio Medallions and the Drunken Shrimp. Finally, the wait for a table never bothers us, We just go do a wine tasting while we wait for a table."

  • "This was my first visit to a Cooper's Hawk Restaurant and I would definitely consider going again. My decision on whether or not to return to restaurant is impacted by not only how good the food & service were but also by how many items looked interesting on the menu. They have a number of items that were calling my name and I'd be happy to try more. The wine was pleasant but nothing to write home about. However I can see the attraction to their wine club considering how far we are from "wine country". If you haven't given them a try, do so."

  • "We have been to this restaurant many times in the past since we live only about 15 minutes away. Our last visit prior to this was about a year ago and our group had no complaints about anything at that time. The recent visit has changed our minds about this restaurant. The salmon was not a good value since the portion was small but that's OK since it tasted so "fishey" that most of it was not eaten anyway. My Fish n Chips dinner was basically four fish sticks atop some over cooked French fries. The fish inside the massive breading was about a half inch in diameter. They should have been called fish pencils. The Asian slaw that comes with everything was very dry and bitter so we asked for some dressing just to make it edible. Sad."
