  • "Menu choices, while not so numerous as to overwhelm, made it hard to decide. Scallops were fabulous, Ahi tuna excellent, and chicken Madeira made me think I was in Tuscany! Great wine pairing selections. Good service. Although we've been here before, we can't decide why we have not made this one of our "often and favorites"!"

  • "Incredible food, fantastic service, and some of the best wines I have ever tasted. Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have had in Kansas City."

  • "We love, love Cooper's Hawk. It was a busy night, food was great, server was very nice about trying to figure out what my friend could eat as she is nursing and her baby has some allergies. Overall, I don't think we really clicked with the server, but I did appreciate him looking out for my friend. We will be back again as this is one of our regular stops!"

  • "Hadn't been before this weekend - excellent wine and drinks list, the mini pork belly tostadas and bacon shrimp with guacamole appetizers were amazingly delicious, would definitely come back to try out other delicious-sounding entrees!"

  • "Good wine, good service, and good atmosphere. Food was OK. Overall, a good package and would visit, particularly for wine tasting again."

  • "We ate there before a theater engagement. The kitchen took a long time preparing our food and we had to rush to eat. That part was not pleasant. Our server was very apologetic and reported to us that the manager was "on it". Supposedly they were waiting on a garnish?? We all liked our food, didn't love it. I had the scallops. The rice side dish was so salty, I could not eat it. Our friend did not like that her ahi tuna same in small pieces instead of a whole piece of fish. Another friend loved his salmon. Braised short ribs are good. A wedge salad came all chopped up. Pretzel bread is delicious."

  • "Enjoyed the wine and cheese pairings before attending a theatre show. The service was efficient and attentive. Our wine and cheese pairings were fun and delicious. I can't wait to dine here again!"

  • "Had a party of 10 for my birthday, had a great time. Service was great, food was great (as usual)! Among the entrees some of us enjoyed particularly was the Soy Ginger Salmon, Crab Cakes, Seafood Cannelloni, Surf & Turf (Parm crusted Filet & crab cakes), Short Rib Risotto to name a few. Will definitely be back!"

  • "We love having dinner and drinks at Cooper's Hawk. We haven't found anything on the menu that we do not like, and even though all of the wine is produced by Cooper's Hawk, there are plenty of varietals to choose from and all are excellent. The suggested food/wine pairings seem to be right on as well, but you can always choose any wine that you are in the mood for. As always the staff was friendly and courteous. We were in a hurry on this trip and they made sure our order was taken quickly, the food delivered as quick as it could be and the check ready when we needed it."

  • "We had co-workers in from out of town, one of which enjoys a great glass of wine. We were seated immediately and we were in time for Happy Hour. The Lux Pinot Noir was great. Appetizers like the drunken shrimp were a hit. We had a great server who was very attentive even though she had several large tables. Cooper's Hawk is my go to restaurant when ever we have out of town guest."

  • "I took my daughter to Cooers Hawk for her birthday dinner. We began by doing the wine tastings. The young woman that help us was very pleasant, and seemed knowledgeable enough. I am not a 'wine expert', so her information was helpful/informative. She was energetic and friendly. They were very busy, but she kept up with our requests. Our dinner was good, and our server was very attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family."

  • "The food was the best thing I have had to eat in months, the service was right on, the girl was there when we needed something and very cheerful. The last time I was there I wasn't all that impressed but this time I was blown away."

  • "I have been going to Cooper's Hawk on the Plaza for about a year now and I love it. The food tastes fantastic. I haven't had anything there I didn't like. The portions are more than enough. The service is always top-notch. The ambiance is relaxing and welcoming. The decor is modern with a nod to classic themes. The wine is among the best I have had, especially the fruit wines."
    Dined on 8/13/2014
  • "The food was very good, as was the ambiance. The service was, however slow, even though the restaurant did not seem to be particularly crowded. Will definitely consider for a repeat visit - hopefully the service will be a bit more prompt!"

  • "For a place touting their own brand of wines, this place has...well...okay wines. Even their "lux" wines (isn't it "luxe"?) which cost more aren't much better. But I'm okay with it if the food and service are good. We started in the bar while we waited for our table and the cheese plate was decent but not particularly "foodie". Rather pedestrian. We then went upstairs to the dining room. The place was full, so you'd expect a little slowness, but the service was s-l-o-w. Food was quite good, though. I had the pretzel crusted pork steak and my girlfriend had the short rib risotto and loved it. But did I mention the service was s-l-o-w?"

  • "This restaurant/winery was very enjoyable. The wine tasting room/area when we walked in was very busy and we had to wait a good 20-25 minutes to steal a spot at the tasting counter...but it was a saturday night (so it should have been expected) and they had no problem pushing back our dinner reservations 15 minutes so that we could finish our tasting. We were seated at a beautiful window view seat on the second floor and given 2 more complimentary tastings before we decided on our glasses for the meal and our appetizer (the asian pork belly tostadas were small but delicious). Their complimentary pretzel bread was delicious and so was our meal. I had the skirt steak and my girlfriend had the gnocchi. Overall, very pleased with the night."

  • "Everything was great - food, service, drink list. Two minor concerns - -very cold, with air blowing directly on us. - celebrated a 25th anniversary, which was noted on reservation. Nothing done for this."

  • "We have never had bad service or a bad food experience at Coopers Hawk. We have been a fan of this restaurant since our first encounter in Indianapolis. From wine tasting to dinner: a great experience."

  • "Overall, this restaurant falls somewhere between an actual winery and an upscale restaurant with an extensive wine list that they are knowledgable about. The ambiance is a bit more commercial than a winery, yet still warm and inviting and exciting. Instead of having a small staff intimately acquainted with the wine, they pair each menu item with the wine they think matches best. So instead of having to rely on your own knowledge of wines (mine is limited but growing) or on the recommendation of your waiter(ess), who might know more or less than you, the answer to your wine questions are already there for you. We are planning on using the leftover amount of our gift to go back to a wine-tasting event in the future - can't wait!"

  • "While the restaurant is very nicely designed the food was only fair and the service was poor. When the server asked how I liked my sangria - the one she suggested as I asked for the least sweet type - I told her it was very sweet. She didn't know how to respond. She made no offer to bring me another drink. Her service was very poor - e.g. the appetizers came before the bread unlike what she's promised. The food isn't anything special. The gnocchi was VERY salty (and I like salty food) and the soup was gelatinous. Overall, I wouldn't make reservations here again."

  • "We all love the food there, decided to visit it again. The happy hour menu is a kill. We loved the pork belly and a hi tuna taco, the flatbread, the carimari, the shrimp, the potsticker, And the price. Highly recommend. Plus, happy hour time is very quite. No noise at all."

  • "Noisy, busy. Average food and wine. No compelling reason to go back."

  • "Had a ladies night out (we are repeat customers), everyone loved it! Food was excellent... I had (again) Surf & Turf with the Soy Ginger Salmon & Filet Medallion, another lady had same, both of us loved it! One had seafood cannelloni, she loved it. One had the awesome lettuce wraps (app) for her dinner, another had the salmon dinner. Our waitress was fabulous, will definitely be back."

  • "We had been wanting to try Cooper's Hawk for awhile, and were finally able to this last weekend. The wine menu and pairings were great, and we joined the wine club. The food was spectacular, and the portions appropriate. My only complaint would be the tables are very close together, so there was quite a bit of noise, but overall a great experience, and we will be back!"

  • "I ordered the Gnocchi with Braised Fennel & Herb Ricotta Dolce (Artichokes, Portabello Mushrooms, Kalamata Olives, Basil, Tomatoes) as soon as I saw that it had artichokes in it...I love them! Unfortunately, there were no artichokes OR portabello mushrooms. The chef told the waiter the artichokes were blended as a part of the sauce (which was very different from what the description made it sound like). As for no mushrooms in the dish...that was never solved. The room that overlooks that plaza has a cool view but is way too loud and does not provide a very peaceful atmosphere."

  • "I spent a lot of time online preparing for a long weekend for my family in Kansas City. Mo. I read several reviews and referred to Tripadvisor's list of top places to eat in Kansas City. It was decided that this would be our choice for the dining highlight of our trip. It did not disappoint. Our reservation was for 7:15 on a Saturday night. The hostesses were very friendly. The lobby is multi purpose as a gift shop, bar and reception area. It was evident that this place was a happening spot to grab a drink, taste some wine or grad some dinner. Our party consisted of four adults, one child and a baby. The place was buzzing. Estrella was our server and she was very engaging and informative. All of our food was amazing as was the wine list."

  • "I was late to the restaurant, but 2/3 of my party was on time. When one of them tried to check in, she was told the whole party had to be there. Then, while I was on the way, I got a call asking me if I was coming. I said my party was there and was told no one had checked in. When I got there, I asked why they wouldn't let my friends check in and was told they must have given the wrong name. The tasting room was packed and no one offered us wine or explained to us that we could sample wines. Then the bill "accidentally" included the cost of the complementary birthday desserts."

  • "Excellent food and service.had the short ribs with risotto which was really good and my friend had the salmon which she said was one of the best she has had.Very extensive wine list as they are a winery.I recommend them."

  • "Severs were young and inexperienced! They did not know the menu, awkward at the table. Food was priced like an upscale restaurant but service and quality was that of Applebees. It was our anniversary which they knew because it was added to open table and we noticed the message on the host card. No mention of this by the hostess or server. The grouper was mushy and not fresh. The steak was ordered MR and came out well done. The wine bar and entry way was fun, but the restaurant was a huge disappointment!"
