Diner Reviews
  • "The atmosphere was great. The food and drinks were of good quality. It is good for a group, but not a romantic getaway. We had fun with our party of 5."

  • "This is a fantastic restaurant. I'm a member of their wine club and I'm so happy I joined!"

  • "This place is a gem. Great food, wine, atmosphere, service, and on top of all that it was VERY reasonably priced!"

  • "Is a little on the expensive side, however, is well worth it. Food is excellent and have had great service every time we have been there !!! Wine of the Month Club is a good value as well. Great for 'date night' Really enjoy daytime during the week"

  • "We had a great under 600 calorie Life Balance dinner, with an excellent and affordable wine selection, and had fun visiting with the wait staff. Would recommend Coopers Hawk for any day or night of the week. Don't wait for a special occasion and join the Wine Club."

  • "This is our third time as a family eating here. The service was great but the wait for the food was quite long. The waiter did a good job of bringing us water and bread to pass the time. Two of our dishes were extremely hot while the other two were luke warm. One of our sides orders was completely forgotten and then had to be removed from the bill."

  • "Our group of 9 had a blast at Cooper's Hawk! We all enjoyed our meals, the service was great, and the wine was delicious. Our table was waiting for us when we arrived, which was great. Don't leave without trying the Pretzel Bread Pudding!"
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Our wine tasting was great. We loved our bartender and joined the wine club because of her and the great value. Our server was a little pushy about wanting us to join with her instead of our bartender (probably some sort of kick back is offered). Absolutely love the truffles and wine. Steak was a little too fatty for my husband."

  • "They were out of my favorite sparkling wine because of a promotion they ran for mother's day. Very disappointed and very badly managed."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "We love this restaurant and have enjoyed the experience many times. We were there on July 3rd. Given the evening before a holiday weekend, they were understaffed and as had to wait an hour for our wine tasting."

  • "I went to Cooper's Hawk on a double date with good friends. From appetizers to dessert, the food was delicious! The waiter was knowledgeable and had good humor. The atmosphere had a cool vibe. I loved that the menu paired specific wines with food items. And the waiter encouraged us to sample them! I would go back in a heartbeat. :) This place is a MUST try!"

  • "Coopers Hawk consistently serves a variety of first class food. That, coupled with wines from the CH winery makes for an exquisite dining experience. You must try it! One of the few places that are moderately priced and the entire staff is well dressed. It gives you an excuse to put on your best and have a memorable evening."

  • "Went for a birthday and sat next to a loud table when I had requested a quieter spot. The loud table was smoking their e-cigarettes all through dinner which was a little annoying. Other diners were asking them to be quiet but I never saw a manager go over to them. Ordered our usual dishes and wasn't disappointed as food was good. Just a little disappointed that it wasn't as seamless as usual."

  • "Food and service was top notch, however it was really noisey"
    Dined on 6/28/2014
  • "We were basically ignored......would not recommend Coopers Hawk to anyone."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • " The short rib risotto was possibly one of the best meals I've ever had. Wine and cheese flight pairing is wonderful. And Bryan with a beard is a awesome server."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "I have zero complaints about their food. The flavors and presentation were phenomenal. The staff could be a little more attentive but very friendly and the overall service wasn't too bad. Anything the service lacked in the kitchen definitely made up for."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "Food was very good but not great and a bit over-priced for the amount you received. Also was took a long time to get our food"

  • "We had a wonderful evening at Cooper's Hawk on the Plaza in KC. From the moment we walked in and were given a sample of the "wine of the evening" until we departed everything was enjoyable. The menu offered great selections without being an encyclopedia, and the waitstaff attentive yet gave us space to catch up with longtime friends. All the levels gave the restaurant a more intimate feel while being able to seat a lot of guests. Can't wait to return the next time we are in KC."

  • "The wine was excellent. We ordered the pork tostada appetizer, but the "pork" was 90% fat chunks! Gross! Extremely salty food and poor flavor. Meats were overcooked and dry. Everything was drowned in sauce to cover up the poor flavor."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "It was our first time dining and we are already excited to go back!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "This is our 2nd time at Cooper's Hawk. And as before, we were thrilled with the food and the staff. They offer an extensive gluten free menu and the wine selection is top notch. We look forward to dining there on every trip to KC."

  • "Loved the food and the best is tasting the wine before actually buying it... I'm not a huge wine drinker but the menu offered a great variety that I could choose from.."

  • "Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant has an amazing Happy Hour from 3 to 7. There are lots a great appetizer choices, and the deals on wine are great. We combined Happy Hour with our dinner, and enjoyed every bite. I appreciated the waiter, who never made us feel funny about taking advantage of the Happy Hour deals. We topped off our meal with dessert, banoffee pie, which we had enjoyed on a trip to Ireland. Dessert was as delicious as the rest of the meal. We are definitely going back."

  • "Love their wines. Love their food. Great location and great service. Wonderful addition to the Plaza experience!"
    Dined on 6/12/2014
  • "Visited for Father's Day-eve. Waiter was attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Able to easily manage our various food allergies (peanuts, tree nuts, gluten) with ease and in a manner that inspired confidence in us that they could (and did!) keep us all safe. The food was delicious - visually appealing, great tasting, and fun. Portion sizes are generous -- kids ordered off the adult menu and had leftovers enough for lunch AND dinner the next day!"

  • "A warm & inviting dining experience on The Plaza! The food, wine, service and atmosphere were all first rate! A great dining experience and a sure "must go" while in KC!"

  • "My girlfriends and I came in this past Saturday and had a great time. I don't know if we stayed too long or what but at the end of the night our server never offered us dessert and just kept saying ok thanks for coming and we weren't done yet. Above all we had a great time! Food and embience was great. A great place to bring your significant other. Would definitely come back."

  • "Coopers Hawk used to be my favorite Plaza Happy Hour location. When they were new to the Plaza, they greeted you at the door with a tray that had a white and red selection of that month's featured wine tastings. The Happy Hour menu was amazing, including beef sliders that were amazing. The servers offered wine tastings and were very personable. Sadly, some of the perks that set this restaurant apart from other Happy Hours are gone. Menu changes, no wine tastings unless you want to stand at the counter. It is still a great place and the food is good, but pork, chicken and fish are the only choices, no beef. Our server was efficient, but not personable. I will return but am looking for some other Happy Hour options. $5 wine during HH."
