Diner Reviews
  • "Cooper's Hawk Winery is a nice place to go for dinner and enjoy the many wines that they make. They have a tasting room where you can taste the wines before you order for a small fee. I would recommend joining the wine club for some added perks. The food was good and the service was excellent. The only down side is the meals are a bit expensive, so expect to spend about $100 on dinner if you get a bottle of wine and have an appetizer."

  • "What a great place for dinner or drinks. If you like wine you will be impressed with the selection and the food is like none other. What a fantastic find."

  • "Cooper's Hawk has been a great addition to the tradition of outstanding Queen City restaurants! The food is exceptional, particularly Anne's Chicken Saltimbocca, and the prices are very reasonable. The wine selections are impressive, particularly since they are all house wines and I appreciate the ability to sample many wines. I have enjoyed several occasions there with different groups of friends and each time, everyone leaves satisfied and raving about what Cooper's Hawk has to offer. The wine club is first rate and we continue to enjoy new wines each month!"

  • "My father was very impressed with the gluten free menu, and liked that the hamburger buns were not the same gluten free buns most restaurants use."

  • "We enjoyed ourselves! It was a double date and our friends enjoyed Coopers Hawk also. The wine was excellent my mojito was ok but I can let go because the service and food made up for the mojito. Overall it was a GOOD NIGHT with friends at Coopers Hawk! !!"

  • "I had dinner with my mother at CoopersHawk restaurant and the food was lovely, the wine was tasty, the service was amazing. Worth the trip!"

  • "We had, a early reservation and opted to sit in the bar,the restaurant was already hopping. We had the shrimp, and crab cakes for appetizers. Medallions of beef, and short ribs, for entrees, we took, truffles to go. Kudos to our server Ray. The wine is very young, best to bring your own, the cocktails a very memorable."

  • "We have a group of ladies who meet monthly, and on occasion when one has a birthday we exchange cards. On this date we had a great server who took good care of us. I am sure we will return for another celebration."

  • "We had a horrible first time visit at Cooper's Hawk. Service was extremely slow took almost 1/2 hour to receive appetizers and another 40 minutes to receive main courses, food was lukewarm/cold. Dirty appetizer dishes were not cleared until main course had arrived at table and there was a gap of 3-4 minutes between first 2 people receiving their dinners and rest of the party receiving theirs. Nothing like waiting 4 minutes to eat because you want to be polite and wait for everyone to get their food.Had trouble getting a refill on coffee and those drinking water never got a refill. This was to be a birthday celebration (which was never acknowledged except in the 2 phone calls confirming our reservation) and the experience was disastrous."

  • "We had a reservation but arrived early and found a booth in the bar area rather than wait. Open seating in the bar area is a nice feature. Às has always been the case in prior visits the staff was friendly and gave just the right amount of attention. We had a bottle of malbec which was very nice, Thai lettuce wraps, and an entre. I had the gnocci which was tasty and filling and my wife had a great looking burger. If you are into wine this is a fun place."

  • "Excellent place. We had a great time, and we will return soon."

  • "Wasn't sure what to expect when we made the reservation but thought we'd give it a try anyway. We each had a wine flight which was great! Unfortunately, Calamari was like big rubber bands; not freshly made and presentation was not enticing. My medallions came out wrong and had to wait about 20 mins for a new plate. In meantime my husband was finished eating. The server apologized more than once. It was our 15th anniversary so maybe an offer to buy us a drink or dessert or take something off the bill would have gone a long way. Even having the mgr stop by our table would have been acceptable. No gesture if any kind was made. This place would be great for wine tasting or a casual evening but not suited for a special occasion."

  • "they let you pick out 2 wine for tastes and they suggest a wine pairing with everything on the menu. Group of 5 women all enjoyed their meals"

  • "I love a place where, when you walk in the door, they immediately hand you a glass of wine, for no charge! Cooper's Hawk makes their own wines - good ones - and they offer tastings of their featured wines upon arrival. Then once you are at the table, you can taste their wines before you decide on which one you want. (I tried 3 different chardonnays.) The food was delicious. A really fun place, nice energy."

  • "We were there on a Tuesday night and it was extremely loud. This was the third time I've been there and the acoustics must be bad because 2/3 times it was really loud."

  • "As always, the wine tasting was great! Our server, Tessa, was delightful and very informative! ! We highly recommend the wine club!! Dinner was terrific....Our favorites are the eggrolls for an appetizer and the seafood cannaloni for an entree!"

  • "Interesting concept, but the execution is poor. Thehouse wine is low quality and the menu while great on paper is poorly prepared. Too oily and flavorless. The service is friendly and well intentioned but sloppy."

  • "Fabulous from the moment we walked in the door. The tasting room is beautiful and welcoming, and filled with great gifts. Entrees were selected from a large variety and were absolutely delicious. Service was outstanding, very attentive and knowledgable. We enjoyed a couple of wine flights and sampled several more wines, recommended by our server. Joined the wine club, knowing for certain we will be visiting regularly. The restaurant is divided into sections, so while being large and accommodating, it has a smaller restaurant feel. Great ambiance, great food, great wine."

  • "My friend and I didn't feel the tuna tacos were as good as the first time we had them back in January. Didn't seem to have as much tuna, and we thought we remembered them being soft. The slaw was excellent. At any rate, we were both remembering how great they were before, and overall very disappointed. Would not order them again."

  • "I took a house guest from Seattle to this restaurant. It's sometimes difficult to find good restaurants in Cincinnati when guests are from larger more cosmopolitan parts of the country. This was definitely a hit with my guest from Seattle and Perry, our server, was great."

  • "The wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially with wine suggestions. Loved the free tasters of wine."

  • "The food was excellent and appropriately priced. Our waitress seemed eager to feed us and get us out of the restaurant. She was not rude we just felt rushed at the start. Our entrees arrived much too soon after our 1st course and we had to choose which to consume while the other got cold. I ended up taking 3/4ths of my entree home and most of my soup. However it ended up being a wonderful meal for my husband and me that evening."

  • "The food and wine are just good, nothing exceptional nor offensive. If you are interested in a chain this is fine for a quick dinner out. Do try the pretzel bread it was very good. We had an eager and pleasant server-Daniel W. Which made the experience very enjoyable."

  • "Great atmosphere for catching up with a girlfriend over some great food. Grapefruit martini was amazing. Wine was good but didn't blow me away."

  • "New England clam chowder was horrible. Sent it back. Wedge salad was watery and dressing was not as advertised. Service was good but not the food. Disappointed to say the least. Can't say I would rush back."

  • "Cooper's Hawk was a great place for our party of 8 to celebrate an engagement and birthday. Wine tasting was fun and generous. Engagement couple received a free glass of champagne and birthday girl received a free truffle and choc covered berry! Appetizer portions were generous in size. We had both the shrimp & pot stickers. I preferred the pot stickers. Entrees were very good - everyone seemed pleased - no leftovers 😊. Service was EXCELLENT! Bryan was our waiter and he accommodated every request with a genuin smile - made the evening very special! Decor was upscale but not stuffy. I will surely go back for a second visit."

  • "The food was good, unless you like filet. The filet was stringy and chewy, not what I would expect from a $33 steak. The environment was noisy and did not make me feel relaxed, as I like to when spending the money at a nice restaurant. I would go back only for the fun of a wine tasting."
    Dined on 7/7/2014
  • "The varied menu is what always keeps us coming back. I have tried several different entrees, flat breads, appetizers, and salads, and have never been disappointed. Although we are not wine drinkers, they seem to have such an awesome wine list. Our drinks(cosmo) were wonderful as well."

  • "Great food, wine and service! They tried to seat us in between two large tables (already occupied by 8 or more per table) in a small room with the sun beaming through the windows. The restaurant was not crowded at all. We asked to be seated outside, it was a great decision. We would recommend this to others."

  • "I was not able to go out with the kids for Father's Day as I had been ill so we made this the night; my daughter in law is a vegan and they are always willing to accommodate, which we really appreciate. wee have the monthly wine membership and the kids loved the place to where they want to bring more family to enjoy it"

  • "We had an excellent lunch there and we had a very friendly server."

  • "We ordered wine flights and they were not at our table before our entrees arrived. The water tasted terrible for some reason so we were left with nothing to drink. The flavor profile of the food was not good. Waiter did notice that I hadn't touched my salad and offered to get me something else so that was positive, but even my replacement soup was just so-so. Wine was also disappointing. With our free tastings and wine flights we tried 11 of the wines and I would only consider two of them to try again. I know a lot of people who come here very often and love it so I'm not sure if we just came on an off night or maybe we are just spoiled by the better local non-chain restaurants in the area, but I was not impressed."

  • "This was our first visit to Cooper's Hawk. We had reservations and were seated right away. The food was very good. We appreciated not being rushed to order dinner as we wanted to savor our "flight" selections of the wine. This is a fun place to come and we will definitely be back!"
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "Food and service were great, my only objection would be: before being seated, I had asked if they do anything for a birthday celebrant, as we were there for our aunt's 91st birthday. Was told they do a truffle dessert. Fine. But was not told that there is a charge for that. Had I known I was paying for their choice, we would have selected something more to our liking."

  • "As with all new restaurants things go bump in the night but we hit several speed bumps. Server was not interested or otherwise occupied. She took a long while to get there and then dropped off our flights of wine w/o any explanation of the grouping, regions, etc. My husband's medium-well filet was medium-rare. Perfect for me, but not for him. He sent it back, they got him a new one that was butterflied when he was expecting a full filet. As the manager brought it out, he noticed the looks on our faces and apologized but said it was to help expedite the delivery of his food. Manager comped his steak. He also gave us 2 complimentary dinners/2 wines for our next visit. I will only go back for a 2nd try due to the free dinner. Hope its better."
