We first went there last year during Denver 5280 and went back because of our experience then. While there are other steak houses in the area Cool River stands out above the others especially if you are looking for an intimate setting or special occasion dinner. They don't pack the place with a lot of seating so you always have a semi-private area for that romantic evening. The menu changes and they always have nightly specials not on the menu. If you are dining with a larger group there are areas in the bar or upstairs for that. We were all reaching for the salt and pepper. It just seems that the food as good, but nothing seems to compliment the rest of what's on the plate. Prices are very high considering what you get. I don't mind paying these high prices, but I expect more because I have gotten so much more in flavors, presentation, creativity...at many other places...for less money.

In the past we have their steaks which were also excellent. Our only problem here for the brunch was the buffet was set up downstairs and we were seated upstairs. There was an elevator but it does loose some of the ambiance when you take an elevator. I have been going to brunches at my father 's senior home for years, but he died in June 2012, so I had to start doing something

The restaurant is airy and spacious with a high dome ceiling. The service was excellent - we were seated immediately and our server was attentive and helpful The tenderloin steak salad was one of the best salads I have ever eaten.
