CookshopGreat neighborhood spotHad Father's Day brunch at Cookshop. Menu selection was varied, eggs dishes are especially tasty. Pancakes were delicious. Great service & ambiance.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFINE FOOD NEAR THE HIGHLINEThis energetic place deserves its good reputation. The chef lets his fine ingredients shine. All our food was delicious, impeccably well prepared from the traditionally rich and meaty country pâte to the mahogany duck breast. The seafood stew was the right choice for a modest appetite. The drinks are after the traditional lines are surpassed with novelties like it the Helacious Tea and the spicy Wicked Cocktail.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCookshop is a gemSophisticated yet unpretentious and lively.Stones throw away from meatpacking yet a world away from craziness.Perfect for a delicious dinner with foodie friends or your parents who would like "real food".The appetizer pizzas are in a class by themselves, gone almost before they hit the table and perfect size for someone who wants a light casual treat with a great glass of wine.I had the roasted chicken which had the perfect crunchy skin and flavorful meat that somehow you can never make at home.My friend had duck and said it was great.Too full for dessert so we order coffee and to our delight 2 mini chocolate cupcakes land on our table.Yum how did they know?6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was really good. The food was really good. The service was impeccable. Only one problem. We were a party of 5 and the fifth seat was on the window sill. It felt like being a little kid in school. If they accept a reservation for 5 people, all should be able to sit in chairs or on banquet.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful and vibrant brunchI enjoyed this restaurant very much. I went by myself and sat down at the bar. The waitress was very friendly and gave me great recommendations. The bloody Mary's are amazing with huge olives and celery. The ambiance was very nice and vibrant. I will be back soon!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic brunchThe choices are overwhelming - we all wanted one of each - but each of us were very very happy with our meal. The cocktails are big and delicious.
We made a reservation and there was no wait.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceAlthough it was packed with a long waiting line for walk ins, they gave us a table right away plus they saved an outdoor table as we especially requested when we did the reservation. Really appreciated that. The food was awesome!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiter WantedWhat turned out to be an excellent meal was overshadowed by a waiter who was unpleasant and not in the mood to be working - in fact he should have stayed home!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMChristian, the WaiterI must say, ,My date and I enjoyed everything. The baby squid amuse was fantastic,Our salad greens were a bit overly salted .And the Beet salad was delicious, except was overly peppered. But, I must tell, the overall feeling was made extra special by Christian's concerns of ours.He made the trip definitely worth coming back for again!
The wines, very good and the desserts were magnificent!.The ice cream was so delicate, that it couldn'tt have been Ice cream.
The restuarant although seemed foreboding, was quite the opposite once inside!
Fantastic place6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious lunch! After a long walk on the Highline, my parents and I went to lunch at Cookshop. My mom and I both had salads that were filling, delicious, fresh and unique (chilled carolina which was shrimp and asparagus with grapefruit and then the cookshop meze, which had broccoli rabe, hummus, wheatberry salad, merlot beans, naan, and beets), and my stepdad had the gruyere grilled cheese with green tomatoes and he was one happy camper (I tried it too - wonderful!!). We shared rhubarb sorbet for dessert which was natural, refreshing and a great way to finish off a lovely lunch. The weather was perfect so we sat outside, it's great they have this option. I also appreciated a free tea refill - the ice tea was perfect - as was the service.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch just off the High LineNice spot for outdoor patio dining (although along 10th ave) next to the High Line.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMmmmmmmWe had a great meal at Cookshop. The food was amazing.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCookshop is a crackerFantastic food. Reasonably priced. Fast friendly service. Great atmosphere. Would recommend and return!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific food, great serviceFour of us enjoyed dinner here last Saturday early evening. This is one of the only upscale dining spots in the area and is always busy. Our service was excellent: pleasant, accommodating and the right mix of attentiveness and leaving us alone. Food was good: steak, duck and lamb all cooked just right and served with pleasing sides. The lamb was billed as shank but came as several medallions sliced and surrounded with (flavorful) fat which seemed odd-never saw that preparation before and not at all what we expected from 'lamb shank'.
We never felt rushed; just wish it weren't as loud- so many places are these days!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh ingredients - great cookingThis is a wonderful restaurant which combines farm fresh ingredients perfectly cooked. The service is professional and thorough. We chose to eat soars and appetizers and share an entree and our waitress not only worked with us but went far beyond. The result was a wonderful shared meal which allowed us to have lots of flavors without over eating pre theater.
In addition the drinks are creative, even the non alcoholic ones.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter food than service.Great breakfast. However, our waitress just disappeared frequently.
In fact, while waiting 15 minutes for our check, all wait staff save one really
helpful guy were at a back table enjoying their breakfast.......5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great mealGreat New York City restaurant; wish there were more like this one!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMfabulous food and even better wineThe food is delicious, tasty, varied, fun. The wine list is amazing and the sommelier is beyond excellent.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious relaxed eating in ChelseaNot only does Cookshop have great coffee, very helpful staff and great food, you never feel rushed eating there. The pace from the carefully brewed coffee through the meal is very well paced so you can relax and enjoy the ambiance, your companion(s) that you are enjoying your meal with and the delicious food. I have been there many times with anywhere from one person to groups of eight and always feel that I am very happy with the experience, the staff is excellent, and the food.
I highly recommend Cookshop.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMCookshop was amazing. I'mCookshop was amazing. I'm a massive foodie, and this place hit every point in my obsessive brain (and belly). Fantastic meats, great sides, an open and natural-air-filled interior, and very friendly service. While the food was prepared excellently, full credit also needs to be given to the folks who raised the animals that are on the menu. After you eat here you want to drive up to their farms and give them all hugs.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA great eveningWe had great service- it's a bit slow, but we felt like we were dining. Not at all rushed. Food was EXCELLENT! Just bursting with flavor and freshness. Wonderful evening!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMsuperbonly problem is for a table of four hard to hear yourselves talk because of the reverberant noise quantity due to the surround of hard surfaces. the menu is varied with interesting ingredients such as the rhubarb on top of duck confit. the waitress was exceedingly
able to take care of all requests for extra care and to explain whatever she as asked. the timing of the arrival of food, although the venue was full, was great. The prices are somewhat upper but given the quality not by any means excessive.
I've tried to communicate this before. Trudy, my mother, was who I made reservations for some time ago. She has now died. The account should be in my name Gerd (male) Stern5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!We had at least 3-5 different appetizers, and had the mahi mahi and chicken for entrees. All of it: Delicious! Good wine selection. Nicely sourced product (organic meats, etc.).5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite restaurantI had such a wonderful meal Wednesday night. I live maybe 200 feet away, and even if the food wasn't so great and the space wasn't so inviting, I would still eat at Cookshop. But the food is fantastic. And the place has such a warm, energetic vibe. It was a terrific experience.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMy Fave in Chelsea!I LOVE Cookshop. It never disappoints and always delights. They have an awesome breakfast (i'm partial to the biscuits - in fact i want one right now!). Their lunch and dinner menus vary by season so you always have new items to choose from. I would bring anyone to this restaurant - family, friends, clients.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorites!I've been here twice, both excellent experiences. 1st time was a group of 6 for dinner. We all raved about our food. This led to me coming back for brunch on 5/19 (seated near Orlando Bloom & his family!!!) I had the soft shell crab frittata which was so unique & made with a fresh tarter-like sauce that made the dish in my opinion. My friend had the scramble w/smoked trout & we split the Baked Brioche French toast (good but I wanted more custard sauce!) All was delish! Also, on a side note, due to the rain we arrived more than 20 min late but they held & honored our Open Table reservation. I was so pleasantly surprised! Since they were so busy, I wouldn't have blamed them if they gave our table away but I was so happy they didn't!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMreally good!the food is delicious, different and local, and the cocktails are yummy - especially the beesting. Shane was our server and he was great, very funny and friendly but did not hover. the desserts are sooo good - pb fluffernutter chocolate pie!!!!!! the restaurant is slightly noisy but that is ok with me.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a meal after a walkGreat for a meal after a walk on The Highline. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We enjoyed the dandelion salad and the porgy entree as well as the cod with clams and mussels.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved our waiter! EverythingLoved our waiter! Everything was wonderful per usual.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a perfect nightIn town for business and met up with some colleagues based on the recommendation of a friend, and they were bang on with the recommendation. They said ambience was lively, but not too lively, and that the lamb and duck were life changing...he wasn't far off the mark. I also want to give a shout out to our server, Maria. Boy this girl knew her stuff. She read the group well, offered helpful suggestions and, simply put, added to what was already a wonderful evening.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food - even better staffEvery morsel of food here was amazing - the turkey sausage and grits especially. I could eat the porridge every day too.
We sat outside since it was a beautiful day and enjoyed the view of the High Line.
The wait staff was so incredibly friendly - they made the visit even better.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMLOVE COOKSHOP! The food isLOVE COOKSHOP! The food is fabulous. Love the mix crowd. IT a great spot5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat foodWe had a full three course meal and the food was remarkebly good.. Sat outside which was somewhat noisy as your next to 10th avenue (but what else would you expect sitting there). The duck breast with a fresh mix of veggiea was a nice surprise..! Would certainly recommend this place to others..5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWent here for dessertIt was okay. Menu isn't as strong as it was a few months ago. Seems more overpriced.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food and service,Very good food and service, fun place to eat. Have been there many times, will be back. It's less noisy outside.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMChelsea GemThis is a great restaurant. Delicious food, good service and next to the highline for a great walk after eating. Always have exceptional food!!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed this restaurant4 of us had dinner here on a Saturday night. We all had different dishes and everyone really liked what they ordered. Service was very good and we were not rushed at all even though the place was crowded. I would highly recommend this restaurant in the heart of Chelsea and High Line Park.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh and deliciousFresh farm-to-table is the specialty at Cookshop. The tasty food, friendly service and casual hip ambience make for a good venue for brunch, lunch and dinner.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat server. Very nice. EnjoyedGreat server. Very nice. Bright and sunny on a Saturday afternoon for dinner.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMUnusual in a great wayFood service and cocktails all outstanding.
You may want to ask them to remove the head if you order fish.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLeave Room for Fluffernutter PieSeriously, the food is great here - healthy and thoughtfully prepared. Arctic char was savory and the roasted beets on a wooden plank with homemade yogurt were a complete charm. As an afterthought, we ordered dessert and it was a stunner. Cookshop delivers with great food and a very friendly staff. Enjoy.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFrom the smiling maitre d'From the smiling maitre d' to the outstanding flavors of the arctic char dish that I ate, I loved this new-ish restaurant which is already deservedly popular. Will definitely return to sample more, including from their eclectic beer list - our helpful waitress recommended a great brew (good wines too according to my dining companions). But the noise level is high. Maybe next time I'll try dining outdoors which despite 10th Ave traffic might be quieter!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Meal!I very rarely rate restaurants with all five stars, but the meal we had at CookShop the other night was fabulous. Everything from the service to the appetizers, entrees, and the most amazing desserts were top notch. I have been here a bunch of times, but my most recent visit was by far the best! They are changing their menu all the time, so it's always fun to try new things. Also have a great variety on the menu of salads, pasta, fish, meat, etc.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe kitchen was slow withThe kitchen was slow with our main dishes. The staff apologized and gave us free desserts, which were delicious and a very nice gesture.
