  • "Even though it was incredibly busy, our reservation was honored at designated time. Server was delightful. I loved my heirloom tomato salad and the pizza was beyond delicious. My husband was equally enthusiastic about his chicken. Even though it was not on menu, server accomodated my special request for sliced melon for desert. We overheard so many diners commenting how much they love Cookshop. It is obvious why; They have all the right ingredients for what makes for a successful restaurant. They make their patrons feel welcomed and appreciated , their menu is appealing to a variety of tastes , served beautifully and soo satisfying."

  • "I was spending time with someone that I don't often see, so the opportunity to walk the High Line and dinner at the restaurant seemed like the perfect idea. And, as always, Cookshop did not disappoint! it was a beautiful early evening, and we were seated at a lovely corner table, looking out at the serene setting. The service was impeccable. Our waitperson was knowledgeable about the food and wine, and never intrusive, aware that there was a lot of 'catching up' going on. She was there when we needed her, and we never felt rushed. The food was excellent. Beautifully prepared fish, perfectly roasted chicken, good drinks, and a shared sundae for dessert....what more could you ask for? I will continue to return, again and again."

  • "Very nice, fresh food. The beignets were awesome, kids loved the French toast. The menu felt a little light for a much-touted brunch and maybe more choices of breakfast classics could have been offered, but overall very good. The area had a laid back local neighborhood feel."

  • "And the place where I've had the best steak in the city 4 years ago, and I've been back a couple of times more -after all I happen to live around the corner, it's not the same. Not this time. Although the American Wagyu steak was cooked to my liking the cheddar jalapeno potato hash was not what I expected, instead I was served a pile of bland potatoes glued by cheddar like a lump. My Partner had a bland piece of cod that was swimming in oil. It was unpleasant. Desserts were very mediocre specially the peaches and sponge cake, there were hardly any peaches."

  • "I've been to Cookshop many times. Now that there's construction gone wild because of the highline, it's lost some of the ambiance- noisy drilling after 7PM was a drag! I can only sit outside, because the inside is too noisy. I'll continue to go because the food is fabulous"

  • "Cookshop is usually great. On my last visit I found the food just didn't come together for me and the levels of noise in the room were unusually trying. The restaurant and bar were both packed, so they are doing something right. I think it was just a night when, for me, they were not as stellar as usual. The food was kind of bland/overly deconstructed and items listed as an integral part of the dish on the menu turned out to be garnishes or just a completely different iteration of what you were expecting. Top-notch ingredients, friendly/gracious service, beautiful coffee as always. I will still go back and try again because I like it there and the food and service have always been good."

  • "The atmosphere, food quality and level of service was excellent. I ordered vegetables with a wonderful aoli sauce as an app which had wonderful taste. The server indicated everything was locally sourced and that the chef changed the menu daily. The swordfish kabobs were outstanding and perfectly prepared as was the side dish of grilled corn. The atmosphere was both cozy and energetic. The staff is top notch and enhanced the experience. I will visit this restaurant again!"

  • "Philosphy here is to offer fewer choices but prepare what the do well. They succeed. We shared the pureed eggplant. A little more on the plate would have been nice. My date had the vegetarian offering. You must like garlic (a lot) to enjoy this choice. I had waygu steak which was done to medium petfection. The side of potatoes with cheese and pickled onions was an excellent compliment to the beef. Main meal portions are filling so we skipped dessert."

  • "I've been to Cookshop 4-5 times. It is appropriate for a business meal (lunch, dinner and even a fabulous breakfast), or just a place to meet friends. The food is exceptional. I had the Maine lobster salad, which was very tasty, and some other dishes of which I don't remember the names (one was bocadillo de ???? - it was a delicious way to prepare chicken gibblets -very unique)."

On this, a member of our party left a smartphone behind after we left the restaurant, and within minutes the host left a message for us and kept the phone safe and secure until we figured out what happened and returned for it.   • "We really enjoyed out brunch at Cookshop. We started with the brulee grapefruit, which (despite the delish cornmeal pancakes with mascarpone, warm rhubarb, and maple syrup) was for me the highlight of the meal: ruby red grapefruit slices with a crisp broiled sugar coating, sitting on a bed of creme fraiche and garnished with mint leaves. Simple, unexpected, and really tasty! Finally, there was no push to get us out of there when we were done. My friend and I lingered over her cocktail to chat, and there was no hovering waitstaff. Recommended!"

  • "Cookshop is a simple but large and attractive room on 10th Avenue. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated. Service was overall friendly and professional and they went to some lengths to accommodate our vegan companion. We started with a hummus plate, market salad and squid, all of which were fine. We had the mixed grill (good) trout (very good) and summer vegetable plate (excellent). Wine list is limited but original. At $90 pp, wine tip and tax included, it was a fair deal. We would definitely return."

  • "This is the second time I have ordered a burger at this restaurant and thought it was tasteless and greasy. The salad that came with it had an overly salted dressing. I have eaten dinner there a couple of times and remember liking my meal but finding the restaurant overly loud. IMHO the best thing they make is their egg dishes at brunch. I don't like the overly elaborate offerings on the lunch menu and especially don't care for their burgers. I prefer sitting at the bar or outdoors. I am not going to rush back even though I live three blocks from Cookshop."

  • "Cook Shop turned out to be the perfect place to bring my friend's visiting mom. We arrived prior to our reservation and was told we would be accommodated early (after a nice walk.) The hostesses were amazingly cheerful, and the server was equally friendly, attentive, and helpful while ordering. We had a leisurely dinner outside on a balmy night. I can see how it would be great for brunch, too. Good drinks and dessert to top it off."

  • "Food was great... But overpriced even for NYC...service was horrible. At the end of our meal our waiter commented... Sorry but I have no control over the food or the bar once I put in the order... However, he greeted us 10 min after we were seated and poured our water. He then came to the table that was seated 15 minutes after us and took their order. Their food was delivered 10 minutes before ours! They had a complaint and the manager came over and said I'm sorry....and she left.... That's it. Just I'm sorry! I'm surprised they do as well as they do..."
