The Menu was full of unique items I haven't been to a restaurant in a long time where it took me this long to decided what I wanted to eat because everything look amazing. Ready to go back to try some more of the menu. The Mac and Cheese was awesome.

  • Is it a sports bar? Gastropub?

It's hard to tell what this restaurant is. The lower floor is casual with an interesting menu, but it seemed to also want to be a sports bar. The food was quite expensive, but the quality and taste didn't measure up to the price. The service was also sub-par.

Observation...hostess refused a booth which was being held for "reservations" that remained empty we left. Two top too small for large plates and full-size plates for appetizer sharing. Use b&b plates. Outdoor bar is novel but too hot. Glad we went inside. Oyster appetizer presentation more like dip but delicious. Redeye fries and chicken appetizers also fun and tasty. None of the entree options appealed to me but my counterpart enjoyed the scallops. Salad presentations unstructured and dressing a bit mild.

We very recently moved to the Houston area, specifically Midtown, and found this gem. The atmosphere is vibrant and modern but casual. We've gone a handful of times amd every time, try something a bit different, but also get our favorite staples. Some being the Duck Tacos and the Angey Birds. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They've even started to recognize us and call us by name. Bobby has been our waiter most times and he's one of the best! Brunch is also just as good as dinner. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary's! Definitely go here. You won't be disappointed.

My second time at Cook And Collins and this trip was better than the first. Amazing service and a subdued atmosphere made this a perfect spot for an evening to catch up with a good friend. The kicker is the FOOD! Terrific takes and interesting twists on standby American dishes and plenty of ingeniously designed "new" plates all add up to me looking forward to future visits.

Highly enjoyed our HRW dinner meal! The wait staff was great but the kitchen was a bit slow for a Friday at 5pm. There were only 2 tables filled in the main dining room and a couple more outside. Cocktails were delicious and refreshing! This is a great place to drink and dine in Midtown!

This was a great place for a business lunch. The location is easy to get to from downtown and other areas driving into downtown/midtown. This restaurant had a different menu and I loved the decor. I had to Just a Turkey Club which was really tasty and different from "just a turkey club." I will be back.

Awesome Place! I believe the AC was broke so it was quite warm inside and mixed with alcohol, not too fun. But the service, food and cocktails made up for it. Went for Happy hour but I wouldn't consider it a reasonable venue for happy hour...no real "specials". I spent $70 for happy hour, not ideal. Overall, very nice place if you're a foodie and love great drinks!

    OpenTable Diner Since 2009
    Dined on 8/6/2014
Menu descriptions sounded playful and interesting. Food did not even come close to what was described. Everything was grossly under seasoned, i.e. very bland. I had a pork belly dish. Anything with pork belly should be heaven but it was overcooked to the point of being stringy and chewy. So sad! Ambiance was nice and outdoor patio looks fun for drinks when the weather gets better. Portions were quite large too, not that it matters when food isn't great. Desserts came out of a microwave :(

Four of us ate here on a Monday night. We were able to hear each other talk without yelling. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. We did not feel rushed so the table could be turned. Not sure how it is on the weekends, but we really enjoyed Monday. The food was very good and the cocktails were well mixed. Participation in Restaurant Weeks is a plus.

My girlfriends and I tried this place out for Sunday brunch for the first time and loved the open, airy, covered patio space upstairs and downstairs. We wanted to try everything all at once bc the menu was full of really interesting pairings! Duck tacos, Mac n chz crab rolls, French toast w pineapple, bacon, jalapeño, rockin egg-white omelettes, so many delicious and healthy versions in their salads, flatbreads, entrees, desserts! This has quickly become a favorite and soon to be regular spot for me!!

Very great food, very large portions, very loud restaurant, and very small wine servings. We really enjoyed the food, the buffalo meat loaf is great, and the roast chicken was wonderful! Great salad with really fresh lettuce too. Also, very excellent service! However, it is a young crowd scene, with boisterous diners and loud music. The mixed drinks appear to be the attraction, because our wine was poured short.
