  • "We thought the service and the gingersnap waffle made it worth coming back."

  • "Crab cake BLT was great. Eggs benedict, not so much. Sangria was great too."

  • "Our food was okay - salads were good; onion soup not so much. The soup tasted too much like whiskey and left a bad taste in my mouth. Service was really not good. We could not even get lemons for water."

  • "Great patio, and the food and service are very good!"

  • "Very great food, very large portions, very loud restaurant, and very small wine servings. We really enjoyed the food, the buffalo meat loaf is great, and the roast chicken was wonderful! Great salad with really fresh lettuce too. Also, very excellent service! However, it is a young crowd scene, with boisterous diners and loud music. The mixed drinks appear to be the attraction, because our wine was poured short."

  • "We had a group celebration dinner with friends from work. The menu had something for everyone but was not loaded up with dozens of entrees. The food was very good although the sweet potato ravioli was more sweet potato than I would have liked. Service was attentive and we never felt rushed. Affordable and a good value. Will be going back."

  • "This was my first time dining at Cook and Collins but I will definitely be returning. The menu and its offerings were amazing and such a reasonable price! The only thing better than the food was the service. The servers were attentive and fun without being overwhelming. It was a delightful experience!"

  • "It was a Wednesday evening and I had the Cobb Louise salad. I want to be sure and say it wasn't "bad" but it was not the same quality salad that one of my friends had on a Saturday evening just two weeks ago. Let me explain, again, it was okay, but clearly pre-made. Everything was not crisp and freshly made, but tasted overly chilled and refrigerated for a while. The eggs hard boiled egg yolks didn't fall out easily as they would if just made and the shrimp were not "crisp". Again, NOT A BAD EXPERIENCE, it was just disappointing to have a salad that was pre-made at such a nice place with a reputation for quality food."

  • "I had the buffalo meatloaf with mashed potatoes and Asparagus, and my wife had the Tomato & Mozzarella flatbread; we both enjoyed our dinner! The portion size was generous and the waitress was attentive. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and it was also tasty! I had their Peaches & Tea drink and I would it to be refreshing and different."

  • "Food was great. Went for brunch and it was terrific! You have to try the Angry Bird appetizer!"

  • "The food was really good but service is slow. We went for brunch and had the Mac n Cheese Crab Rolls, Gingersnap waffles, and French Toast. And it was reasonably priced."

  • "Portions at C & C are quite large, but oh so worth it. We had brunch before the theater. We arrived earlier than our reservation, were seated promptly and greeted by our waitress right away. We had a starter which we could have skipped if we'd know the portion sizes, but it was a yummy cinnamon roll. We had the french toast and ginger waffles. Both delicious. Can't wait to go back and try something else. The whole menu sounded tempting. Bloody Mary was outstanding."

  • "Burger was dry without much flavor, although it was helped by the condiments. Crab cake sandwich was a little better but not great. We went because the restaurant uses grass-fed beef for its burgers."

  • "This was a fantastic outing for us. The food was fantastic and the service was awesome! the location is perfect ( right next to the Big SPEC's)"

  • "Went for Sunday brunch with a friend I have not seen in awhile. They did not rush us and were very friendly. The food was great. We are already talking about what we are going to get next time we come in."

  • "We were in town for a wedding and made Father's Day brunch reservations via Open Table. We loved this place! They have a great outdoor patio on front, but in Houston in June, we opted to sit indoors. To start off, the 4 of us shared a carafe of the Bellini, made with our favorite Tito's Vodka, and also ordered the Sinaroll (cinnamon roll with bacon icing) and the famous crab rolls (crab meet, macaroni, sun dried tomatoes and truffle dip). For our main dish, I had the classic Benedict. I loved it! My dad also ordered the eggs Benedict, my husband got the Party Fowl flatbread, and my mom ordered the French toast. All the food was delicious, and we're looking forward to coming back next time we're in town!"

  • " My husband had the delicious steak. I had the scallops and they were delicious. House salad with house dressing . The choices of the desserts was limited. Brownie, Butterscotch everything (ice cream, tart, etc) and we had the apple bread pudding which had no flavor but was very sweet. We didn't finish it. In fact the waitress said we would get it free but we didn't."

  • "We went to Cook & Collins before the ballet. They were absolutely great at making sure we were out on time to get to the show. The service was great not hovering but also not absent. We got the scallops which were good but not great and the burger, which according to my boyfriend, was really good. The fries were great and the brussels sprouts were pretty good. All in all, we enjoyed the restaurant, but it is not one of our top favorites."

  • "Cook & Collins was awesome! I went there for brunch before an afternoon ballet. The food was excellent and so was the service. In fact, the service was so quick that we had extra time before the ballet and stayed for a few extra drinks. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary -it us a meal within itself! Ginger snap waffles and eggs Benedict were amazing! Reasonably priced food and a great atmosphere! Overall, I thought this was a great restaurant and I will definitely be back for dinner soon!"

  • "THe wait staff was very attentive and nice. My friend ordered a flat bread with the candied bacon and did not like it after the first bite and they were kind enough to take it back and give her something else of her choice off the menu."

  • "Food was extremely good, something on the menu for everyone. Excellent sides. Only complaint was the slow service. We saw our server only three times, and actually had to ask other waiters for help throughout our dining experience."

  • "A friend and I ordered the White Bird flatbread. It was delicious and so filling that we went straight to dessert. Wish our server had told us how big the desserts are (enormous) and we would have picked just one. As it was, I finished about 1/3 of my brownie and she did the same with her butterscotch pudding. We'll go back to try the entrees soon."

  • "The service was outstanding. Our waiter was the best I have had in a long time. Very friendly and personable. "Pete" . The food was also very good. The salad good, The flatbread flavors were great, but the crust okay. I suppose for flatbread that is what is to be expected. I loved the interior and decor. My only drawback was the location ( midtown). Not really my style. A lot of young late-night "want to be seen" groups. Not into that, but great for them. "

  • "I hosted five guests, including one couple's 13 years-old son. We started with two flatbreads (two) as an appetizer. Both were delicious, featuring a "smart" and balmced selection of toppings. Our orders included fried chicken, organic salmon and burgers. Everyone raved about the food. The portion sizes are good."

  • "We chose C&C for our date night last week after having heard great things about it in recent months. We sat on the outside patio and it was very pleasant, with only a few other tables full. I could see it being a fun place to come with a larger group and hope to try that soon. The service was timely and friendly; present enough to be useful but not overbearing. Observed nice teamwork. Our server provided great suggestions and our food (red eye fries appetizer, buffalo meatloaf, and three-cheese burger) was delicious. Seriously, it was ALL so good - we both cleaned our plates despite getting very full in the process. The cocktails were creative and tasty. We did not go inside but will save that for a cold day. We will definitely be back!"

  • "We dined in the main room which is small and fitted with extremely small tables. There was hardly room for our food and drinks. While service was gracious, we found our main courses disasterous. My wife had the pork porterhouse which was refrigerator cold inside. It was sent back and was returned by the chef with apologies. Unfortunately, it returned over cooked and dry. I tried the fried chicken. The chicken and sides were overpowered by a conglomeration of herbs, spices, and unidentified flavorings. Sweet coated chicken dowsed with some sort of hot sauce, overcooked greens very highly spiced, mashed potatoes with all sorts of flavors, a heavy and heavily herbed biscuit all to be topped with accompanying honey. Nice menu poor execution."

  • "I went to Cook and Collins for my friend's 25th birthday. We sat outside on the patio and it was perfect. Great location, delicious food, generous portions. The general manager, Robert, was great and really made this birthday dinner feel like a special occasion!"

  • "Sat on the patio; quiet and able to have a conversation. Food was good and the pizza was huge for two of us. Good portion sizes. I would go back."

  • "My family and I attended Cook & Collin's for bunch and unfortunately my mother has dietary restrictions. As she browsed the menu for something to eat most of the options contained dairy. We asked our server to eliminate the dairy in a omlet only to be told that the cheese in already blended into a mix. When I proceeded to question why they wouldn't make fresh omlets he could only say that they were pre-mixed. To our dismay, a $14 omlet should not be prearranged, and I find it very hard to comprehend why a restaurant would not be able to remove 1 ingredient from a non-complicated dish. Needless to say my mom was unable to eat a brunch dish as she had to pick around eggs that were already preassembled. "

  • "The restaurant was a "feel-good" right from the start....The attentiveness of the waiter, the floor manager, and the owner coupled with an interesting delicious menu made the evening and the desire to return......."

  • "I made the reservation for my family the day before- noted on the Open Table review it was my brother's birthday. I got a call the day of confirming the spelling of his name, and as we arrived for dinner, we saw they had drawn in chalkboard "Happy Birthday Garrett" at our table. It was very special and made his night. Benjamin was a fantastic server, and we really enjoyed the food and a wonderful evening. "

  • "Everything that my wife and I ordered for dinner was very tasty also interesting and not just like every other place. The portion sizes were also good and the place a clean and modern look. The beer list wasn't too exiting but there were a few interesting beers but there are better wine choices and a full bar with interesting cocktails to try. We plan to return soon, maybe to try their brunch which looks interesting."

  • "I took a friend for lunch for her birthday. Not many people there but we really enjoyed it. Both got salads...the cobb which was excellent and the upstream salmon which was good but the salmon was a little over done. Waitress could not have been nicer. Desserts were wonderful and huge. I will definitely go back. Lots of variety on the menu. Both inside and outside seating which is always nice."

  • "C and C has absolutely fabulous food !! Their hamburgers are delicious, the Ginger Waffles are scrumptious, and the "truffle oil-garlic" fries are delectable !! The onion soup was the best I've ever had and the salads are great !! I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. The food is outstanding !!"

  • "always enjoy the brunch drinks and food are wonderful. this was our third time here for brunch, this time for Mother's Day, and we again enjoyed our food. Don't like the root beer bbq sauce, if you expect something like usual bbq, then go somewhere else. Service was not so good this time, had our waiter Mike making jestures and faces to a bus boy I think to come and give us drink refills, but even that didn't happen unless we asked. Also, forgot somethings, and was gone a bit, so must have been snacking in the back or doing something besides waiting on his tables. Will be back for the food. "
