Don't drive by...stop and eat! We finally stopped and it is now a great addition to our neighborhood restaurant list! The service was attentive, the food was outstanding, and the environment was welcoming...they have a great loyalty program - be sure to ask about it! AND we'll be back on Tuesday when all bottles of wine are half off!

The menu was very creative so I was excited to try this place. The crab Mac n cheese egg rolls were delivered pretty cold but I never had a chance to express that because our server was pretty inattentive. It took a while for our "mimosas" to arrive and when they did they were lukewarm with barely any champagne. My eggs Benedict was okay but everything was thoroughly under seasoned. The service remained slow and the server was not as friendly or concerned as I would have liked. I was never asked if I cared for the food or if we had everything we needed. The table was great and my water stayed full which was nice. So it was good, just not great.

We had an early reservation to beat the crowd. We were seated immediately and ordered wine and starters from the Happy Hour menu. Everything just hit the spot. Our server was very attentive without being overly so. Our meals were great and we were allowed to talk for quite a while with no pressure to give up our table. Our server continued to check in on us and we then ordered the brownie dessert to share. All in all, a perfect dining experience.

went here for brunch with a party of 4. seated promptly. great customer service as we never felt wanting/needing anything and food came out in decent time. creative menu with options for everyone. my bf had a duck and arugula flat bread that was amazing (and great the next day too). I had a turkey club that was decent but the fries stole the show as they were packed with sauteed garlic and other herbs. big patio but we stayed inside since it was about 60 degress that morning. I didn't have one but the 3 other guests all had a bloody mary. they are from louisiana and said it was a top drink in houston for sure! will definitely be back for lunch/dinner/brunch in the future.

Cook & Collins is a great place for afterwork gatherings with peers. We sat outside and the weather, service and food was excellent! The wait staff took GREAT care of us, very attentive, made wonderful recommendations for drinks and food. Some of my group had never been there but had wonderful comments about everything. I highly recommend C&C for just about any occasion gathering.

This was my first time at Cook and Collins. My expectations were high frI'm reading various reviews. I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic. I started with the Mac and Cheese Crab Rolls...they were fantastic. I probably could have just ordered that. I also had the C&C Burger...it was great...if you are a burger lover, this ishould for you. I will definitely be back.

This was my 4th visit and it just wasn't that good. Service was slow and the restaurant was not full but we had so many different servers coming to the table. Food was very average...one of my guests fried chicken looked burnt and the salads were seriously not that good. The Valet guy looked half asleep and with very few cars in the parking lot he couldn't seem to find my key. He handed it to me to get it myself...parked it so close that I could hardly get into it and changed my seat and radio station. Did he take it for a joy ride when we were eating? Like the location because it is outside of downtown but probably won't be back!

My wife and I ate there on a Friday night; 8pm reservations. We valet parked, and were seated immediately. The inside and outside was humming, but we chose to sit inside. The draft beer selection was good, with local craft brew options. The cocktail list look good, but we had just come form Pastry War and had had enough tequilla for the evening. We only had the main course. My wife loved her scallops. She replaced the mac and cheese with mashed potaoes, which they did with no issue. I had the steak and fries. Both meals were flavorable, and served at the perfect temperture. The place was happening, but not too loud. The service was OK, but nothing outstanding. We skipped dessert and headed to Eleven 11 as we were in themood for chocolate.

Once again this place has secured its spot on my list for brunch fave. Our rowdy large group was celebrating a birthday, and it's always hard to coordinate a group reservation with seating for everyone, separate checks and all the specific needs of each person. They did a terrific job and made my birthday extra special -- and delish!!! Thanks!!!! xoxox.

Saturday at 1:00 PM - October 4, 2014 - The waiter was excellent (Wayne), however, the greeter was grumpy and unorganized. She was not friendly at all and hesitated to seat me upon arrival when she knew I had reservations. She certainly does not belong in a job requiring high visibility and customer interaction. Valet parking guys were excellent and very professional. The food was excellent!

For the most part great classic Southern food - deviled eggs, pimento cheese, fried chicken, butter beans, collard greens, fantastic biscuits. But the service is what really sets this place apart. Everyone is so friendly and helpful - definitely Southern hospitality. And they have a wonderful patio off a large courtyard where child diners can safely play if they are bored. Perfect for families.

We decided to come here on a Friday night to have dinner with the girls then after dinner walk around to different bars and have a couple of drinks. Dinner was good, we had the scallops with mac and cheese and the some sort of fish dish that my sister order. Food was good not the best but great for the price and location. THey had plenty of group dinners here and people were dressed more casual which I thought was weird if you wanted to go out and drink around there.

I went on a Sunday morning for brunch by myself, I had booked a reservation via Opentable and the hostess immediately seared me. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. I sat there looking at the servers ask everyone around me how they were doing....I was ignored for 22 min. The waiter didnt apologize until tip time. I wasn't impressed. The food was good but service is not impressive.

It's hard to tell what this restaurant is. The lower floor is casual with an interesting menu, but it seemed to also want to be a sports bar. The food was quite expensive, but the quality and taste didn't measure up to the price. The service was also sub-par.

Observation...hostess refused a booth which was being held for "reservations" that remained empty we left. Two top too small for large plates and full-size plates for appetizer sharing. Use b&b plates. Outdoor bar is novel but too hot. Glad we went inside. Oyster appetizer presentation more like dip but delicious. Redeye fries and chicken appetizers also fun and tasty. None of the entree options appealed to me but my counterpart enjoyed the scallops. Salad presentations unstructured and dressing a bit mild.

We very recently moved to the Houston area, specifically Midtown, and found this gem. The atmosphere is vibrant and modern but casual. We've gone a handful of times amd every time, try something a bit different, but also get our favorite staples. Some being the Duck Tacos and the Angey Birds. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They've even started to recognize us and call us by name. Bobby has been our waiter most times and he's one of the best! Brunch is also just as good as dinner. I highly recommend the Bloody Mary's! Definitely go here. You won't be disappointed.
