They serve European-sized portions - if more restaurants served like this, the US population wouldn't be obese. However, if you rate restaurants' quality based on massive portions, you'll be disappointed. The food is exquisite, and the service is always impeccable. We had a business event in August, and everyone raved about the food. The crab cakes are "to die for." The NY strip steak was wonderful with a touch of a delicate mustard sauce. If you like great food, be sure to check out this restaurant. I took a vegetarian client and they prepared a special plate with truffles. I was almost willing to become a vegetarian for the evening because the truffles smelled so good!

The quality of the food and service was excellent. But it is too expensive for what you get. We had a very good crab cake appetizer, but $18 for one cake with nothing else? We had the tasty scallop/shrimp dish, but at more than $30, it was an appetizer-sized portion at an entree price. A beet "salad" consisted of 4 lonely little beets with a garnish of arugula and plain yogurt for $10. Three of us spent $100 for essentially appetizers and only two drinks, and still left hungry. Even at fancy restaurants I expect some semblance of reasonable value for the cost. However, I recommend it because of the quality of the food and great location looking across Speer from the Pepsi Center. Judge the value for yourself.

Coohills has a nice ambience and a pretty space. The cocktails were tasty. Our waitress was attentive and yet didn't hover. I was in town visiting a friend so it was nice to visit without constantly being interrupted and being asked if we were ready to order. The food was all very good. I'm not a fan of crab cakes because they usually have more breaking than crab. But these were made with just crab and were fresh. The fresh baked sourdough bread was fabulous. I will definitely eat there again next time I'm in Denver.

Not all kids like to eat at McDonalds! I have eaten here twice now with my children and both times the fact that I brought my children seemed to unnerve our servers. My children are well behaved with palettes just like their parents. I'm not asking you to have a children's menu but it would be great if you might consider serving your delicious meals in a smaller portion for your pint sized guests. And...don't look at me like I'm crazy for bringing my children nor make snide comments about how, "fine dining is a slower pace than other restaurants" as an excuse for not bringing water to our table for over 10 minutes after our arrival on a ninety degree day. That being said, the food is divine so when we return please greet us all graciously.

Coohills - despite a terrible name for a restaurant (it's the chefs last name ) the food here is wonderful. The location is also hard to find and there's only garage parking at $5 dollars. The menu reads wonderfully and makes you want to try everything. Have eaten here twice - the gazpacho is really a mushroom medley -so delicious I wanted to order a 2nd portion. The duck confit was classic and done perfectly. Lamb sirloin keeps calling me back for more. Desserts are all great especially the "peaches & cream". Would recommend to anyone who likes good food !

We found the food to be outstanding, a French Chef Owner, with a great presentation. The country pate was so delicious and ample enough to be a main COURSE, HOME made BREAD WAS WARM AND DELICIOUS, My strip steak was served in cubes on spinach with risotto gnoochi, and onion crisps, Jeanne had a beautiful piece of salmon with delicious sauce.

We had an early reservation (6PM) and only a few tables were occupied. We were seated promptly and our waitress was right over welcoming us. Overall some of the best service I've ever had. We started off splitting the cheese platter which was quite good. The blu cheese was some of the best I've tasted. We both had the arugula salad with almonds, and they were dressed to perfection. I had the strip steak, and my wife had the chicken. Both were outstanding. Had to skip dessert because we were both stuffed. It was a great evening with wonderful service and great food.

A special evening with a best friend of 20 years, we definitely picked the right place at the right time!! Coohills was amazing! I have an affinity for French food, and their quality, flavor and presentation were outstanding, also they were able to accommodate dietary needs! It was Thursday, the place was a little empty, but honestly we didn't mind having the privacy while there was a larger party on the other wide. Exceptional wine list, so extensive you flip through on an iPad! The two of us shared everything from the foie gras and beef tartar- Delicious! To Scallops with the best texture I've ever had! Melon salad with prosciutto, yum! And late-harvest not-to-sweet dessert wine with sorbet to finish it all off. I'll definitely be back!

The menu is upscale and refined often to allow the frequent patron a constantly different dining experience. The escargot was prepared to sheer perfection. The baguettes left you wanting another. The chicken you could cut with a fork. Wines list makes pairing with your entree simple. Desserts offered a refreshing conclusion to your meal. Attentive service left you feeling that you were their sole table for the evening.

Last min booking during 5280 week, and mixed reviews from 4 of us; Pros-3 had the Crab cakes and they were a huge hit, and so was the desert. 2 of us had the chicken dish, and it was great. Cons - 2 of us had salmon, one was great, one was overcooked and a bit dry. The snails were so-so from the 3 that had them. No where that we could see, on the web site or onsite did they say that there was just the one fixed menu. In fact they had a sign at the front door that advertised happy hr. until 6p and we were there at 5:30 and I was first told that it was not available except at the bar area, then I was told that it had already ended. Snails was the only appetizer with no other option, a poor choice for a single option, or add something else.

Meal exceeded our expectations. Service also very good, very attentive, although second glass of wine arrived after entree was served. Great wine selection. Excellent white Burgundy and red Bordeaux. Very good Manhattan with large ice block. Excellent golden brown house made bread with truffle butter. Wow! Both appetizers were beautifully plated and well seasoned. Escargots were on the small side though. The sous vide egg in the salad was perfectly cooked and the yolk ran when pierced. Delicious salmon, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Chicken Ballantine was also delicious and tender but would have liked more than 2 rilettes. Potato puree a bit on runny side. Dessert was pleasing to the eye and palate. Good textures

This was our first visit to Coohills but we will be back again soon, this time to try one of the tasting menus. The service was attentive and fast. The food was inventively prepared, beautifully presented and remarkably tasty. The foie gras de jour was different from any I've had and I couldn't stop raving about it. The crab cakes (an old French recipe, we were told) contained no breading, bound together with other seafood . . .quite incredible. The green tomato gazpacho was not your run-of the-mill soup but a medley of great flavors. My wife is a lover of salmon and she was thrilled with the preparation. Lamb sirloin was done to perfection and the combination with harissa and yogurt simply breathtaking. Thanks for a wonderful meal!

Yes, this is a higher end restaurant and the prices reflect that, so many would only go here for special occasions. If you are looking for a memorable evening with flawless service, perfectly executed food, and a chic yet warm atmosphere, Coohills is the place. The service was also impeccable. Everything was timed absolutely perfectly: the busser would have the table preset without delay, wine pairing would arrive precisely on time with each course, and plates were cleared promptly. The timing of each course was also impressive; just enough time in between each course to sit and enjoy, but not too much time passed where we wondered when our next plate would be there. Best service I have experienced in all of Denver.

It was good and definitely edible, but nothing to write home about. I expected more. My husband had the steak, it was good, not wonderful. The cheese board and fresh baked bread were awesome. I would go back for appetizers and desserts, but perhaps not an entree.

We go out fairly frequently to new restaurants and would consider ourselves foodies. This place is purely fantastic, and it isn't just because the location is terrific, tucked away in upper lodo beside the bridge at 14th & Wewatta, or that the energy is just right (we went on a Tuesday evening for the free concert) or that the food is truly outstanding (best crab cake I've EVER eaten on appetizer menu...held together with crab foam - astoundingly delicious)...also thoroughly enjoyed the scallops, red snapper, salads and a creamed corn TDF...but the staff is exceptional! Shout out to Samuel for taking such good care of us and providing a free dessert not on the menu, as well as Aaron, general manager extraordinaire! We'll be back!

Food was very good, but this is our second visit, and clearly Chef Coohill needs to train his staff better. Knowledge and grace were severely limited in all service interactions there, which also reduced our food rating - since our server recommended something our 14yo would never eat (and we took her word for it despite asking several questions). Even so, everything was nicely flavored and elegantly presented, but nothing was even close to spectacular.
