After we were seated on the patio, a waitress came over to take our drink orders. It took at least 15 minutes for us to get them. Then she disappeared again without taking our food order. 10 min later we had to go and fetch a person to get some food. The food took forever and nobody came to see if we needed refills. The food was fantastic but it took us more than 2 hours to finish dinner and we only had appetizers and a couple of main courses.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMA favoriteAlways special, never had anything less than really, really good. Brunch choices creative: eggs poached in red wine, flavor mix of Arugula, pear, feta with perfect dressing was delicious. Green beans with almonds in delicious sauce. We liked the texture and flavors in the sweet potato hash, and again, flavors, texture and gorgeous color of "cranberry sauce".

The fresh baked bread and with sea salt butter was delicious. The crab cake was unbelievable. The brussels sprouts were heavy with oil and the soft shell crab was just tasteless. The duck confit was good. I loved the furnishings/decor. The bar looked inviting but we got there close to our reservation time so we sat. The hostess, unfortunately, was VERY CARELESS in seating us at a table that had already been occupied! It should have been VERY obvious to her that the table was not set right. Our server quickly came over and appologized saying "she should not have sat you here". He cleared and reset the table. I would hope the manager dealt with it as well. Service was good. We enjoyed the duck appetizer and 10 oz steak and swordfish. Apple dessert was mediocre. Skip dessert next time. Lose the iPad wine list; it seemed very out of place and took more time to read through than a printed menu. We were seated with a great view of Cherry Creek and the urban scene. The food was distinctive and delicious; the waiter was very attentive. They even provided some extra treats to mark the occasion. Given the history of the owners, from the south, I thought it would be more southern charmed. The 5280 menu was a great representative of thier regular menu. we sampled many items.
