Convivium OsteriaGreat Friendly ServiceThe restaurant is small and cozy. Romantic setting with candles on the tables. Not a lot of tables and you may have to share a table with other diners. Also a small menu, but very delicious fresh food. The service was awesome, very friendly.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcoming, delliciousWonderful food, gracious service and a warm, inviting atmosphere. What more can you ask of a restaurant? Their dedication to naturally raised and local products shows in the quality of the food. More than reasonably priced for the quality. Though the shared large tables may not be conducive to a romantic interlude, the space is 'romantic' in decor and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and would be appropriate for many special occasions. This is one of our favorite places for a special meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMConvivium is literally whatConvivium is literally what is called Neighborhood Gem. This time we ordered polenta with mushrooms and chicken liver wrapped in pancetta for appetizers and then steak for two. Everything was great and (as a brooklinyte I hate to admit this) on the quality level of best Manhattan restaurants. Service was perfect. Waiting time almost none. It was slightly noisy due to a relatively small dining area, Convivium located on the first floor of a standard brownstone. Wine list is not very long but rather sophisticated. We had Rioja Grand Riserva 1998 - amazing.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat first time experience. This is an amazing place. Tiny front dining area and bar with another space out back on the porch. This is called an Italian restaurant, but in reality it is Italian with a Spanish and Portuguese influence. The Snapper was the best I have EVER eaten. Every other dish we had was fantastic. Waiter was attentive, yet not overdone and the entire experience was one that we look forward to again.
The name intimates "convivial" or group... while this would be great for up to 6 or so people, it was also outstandingly romantic for two.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAs good as it gets!!!!!No matter how high you set your expectations, be prepared to be positively surprised.
Every bite, every need fullfilled.
Almost hate to shout about it for fear of not getting a reservation next time.

Prices are right.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only bad thing is theyThe only bad thing is they only accept American Express credit card.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAdorable place, with goodAdorable place, with good food and good wine. Only complaints: server a teeny bit snooty and definitely rushed us out -- but that was probably because we only had a glass of wine.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is always goodThe food here is always good and so is the service. I rely on Convivium for these and haven't ever been let down. The wine room downstairs is really nice.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty and Takes Reservationsperfect for a date - love the ambiance, love the staff. Carciofo appetizer was a standout. rabbit main was very well done although the delicious sauce made the polenta a bit soggy.
wife's pasta sauce was perfect but the pasta itself was overcooked. price a little higher than comparable restaurants in brooklyn.
overall i give it 4 stars bc its one of the best spots in park slope that takes reservations, plus the decor is great.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant is beautiful,The restaurant is beautiful, the food is fantastic and the service friendly and professional. Only negative is too many communal tables and if you happen to be sitting with loud or obnoxious people, it makes the dining experience less pleasant.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMConvivium Osteria was recommendedConvivium Osteria was recommended to us and we are so glad that we took the suggestion. Our reservation was honored and we were seated immediately in the wine cellar, which is lovely. The food was wonderful, staff was friendly and attentive; all in all a delightful experience. In addition, it is a short walk to the Barclays Center - great place for before concerts or events. You won't be disappointed!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent and Unespected ServiceThis is a superb restaurant. The service was excellent and the food delicious. when we noted that one of the pasta dishes was a bit off, the chef sent out a selection of 4 desserts to make up for it. Nice touch. But even better was the phone call we received about 30 minutes after leaving noting that we had overpaid by $80. Returning the next day to retrieve our overpayment, we were happy to leave $20 for the waiter who had taken care of us and this.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat romantic restaurant !!Quiet little romantic restaurant. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. Would definitely go back on a weekend to enjoy the extensive wine list. Just went for a little dinner and glass of wine on a week night, it was very quiet.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing experience. BestAmazing experience. Best dinner we have enjoyed in a long time.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AM2 out of 3Great atmosphere, attentive staff, food was just ok. May have been an off night. Would return.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for a 50 th birthdayWe went here for a 50 th birthday and it was superb. Absolutely wonderful food, ambiance and wait staff!4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCozy romance. This past Saturday, I took my husband out on a dinner date to Convivium Osteria, a beautifully cozy romantic restaurant in the Park Slope. The staff was excellent and completely knowledgeable of the menu. I was amazed by the very resourceful spacial lay-out of the tri-level space.
The food was great, not usually an olive fan but I must say, those were some of the best olives I've ever had, oh and the crusty bread. The menu was also very compatible to my pescetarian husband's diet.
Five stars for Convivium Osteria.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA consistent winnerSuperb dining and ambiance. Been there twice and each time was exceptional. A real find.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMCozy for Fall and WinterDon't miss the quail in fig reduction sauce and the 48-ounce ribeye, which is flavorful, tender, and juicy -- perfection. Our accompanying potatoes were dry, unseasoned, and not well infused with rosemary. The second accompaniment of watercress salad was refreshing but too small for two. Skip the strozzapreti -- disappointing. The Kopke Reserva 2009 was a very good red, and the bread from NY Brooklyn Bread divinely Old World. A lovely dining experience!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial place, transportive.Special place, transportive. In Brooklyn one second, in Southwest Europe the next. Great food, service -- it's all there.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
