A word from Connie and Ted's
At Connie and Ted’s you’ll find simply prepared fish and shellfish, inspired by the classic clam shacks, oyster bars, and fish houses, that dot the New England Seaboard and the Western Coast.

Enjoy one (or two) of 24 California craft beers on tap, while sampling from our large variety of oysters, clams and shellfish, shucked to order, at our Raw Bar. Wind down the day with a classic cocktail at the bar, or enjoy a warm lobster roll outside on the covered, open-air patio overlooking Santa Monica Boulevard.

  • "Love this relaxed be achy restaurant. Been several times and each time it is an adventure. Fresh seafood, perfect french fries...my splurge. I recommend it to all my friends"

  • "Fifth occasion at this terrific restaurant and each time was better than the last. For me, it's the best, freshest seafood in L.A."

  • "A cool restaurant for a fish meal. Eames chairs and on-trend cocktails, a fun vibe all round"

  • "Excellent quality seafood and professional, friendly service."

  • "This place is much better at lunch. The chef takes more time and is not rushed as at dinner, when the food quality degrades. Good fish and the fish & chips are 10x better at lunch. Still disappointed in the poor wine glass selection,"

  • "Food was amazing, the service was ok. I think because he had large parties to take care off. It was my first time and I didn't feel like I was given all the attention. No recommendations were given and he said everything was good in the menu, which leaves you at nothing. The t bone steak was cooked perfectly. And the lobster roll was unbelievableeeeee"

  • "Food was excellent and service was friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful evening."

  • "While the food and ambiance are fine, and the service was above average, the prices are really quite steep for what it is (a crab shack with a smaller menu)-- so unfortunately it cannot be what I'd like it to be, which is a more frequent occurrence."

  • "Steamers are the best. Our waiter Marco was amazing. He recommended the Ferrari brut rose. Great choice. What a way to lunch on a Friday."

  • "I love good New England seafood. It's different than the normal west coast faire. So, when I learned of Connie and Ted's, we had to go. It was a great lunch. Had the RI chowder, clams with bellies and a hot lobster roll. The chowder and clams were excellent. But I'd definitely try the cold lobster roll next time. The fries and slaw were excellent too."

  • "Friendly staff and delicious food make Connie and Ted's one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in LA."

  • "the seafood is fresh and excellent - the environment is very pleasant too and a great selection of craft beers"

  • "Thjs is the best lobster role in LA. My friend and I are both New Eglanders (Maine and New Hampshire) and we have yet to find a better one."
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "Heard so much about this place. I guess they are known for their oyster, which I don't eat. Ordered the fried calamari and nothing special, no flavor. Had much better. Lobster rolls are also nothing special. The staff when I first walked in one of the women seemed a little annoyed that I was asking her questions. Don't know if I would go back, too many other tasty places around!"

  • "Loved everything about it but the noise level. even the patio is loud, but not as bad as inside. the dishes are incredible…will definitely go back"
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "The service is fantastic and the food is delicious. Will definitely be back!"
    Dined on 7/21/2014
  • "food was average we sat on the patio and it was cold but they would turn the heat on for 5 mins and turn it off. all the heaters are connected so it's all or nothing. there are better places for seafood at this price."

  • "Finally we were able to book a table for lunch on Sunday. Perhaps the fact they had no availability for reservations on prior attempts had me thinking this place was more special than we found it be on our first visit. The fish while good wasn't particularly special. The chowder not note worthy but good. The notable parts of our visit were the staff outnumbered the guests at noon on Sunday, the menu is more bar than restaurant with surprisingly few choices for food but countless booze only drinks, and the prices too high for the offerings."

  • "While it may be hard to get a reservation at this restaurant at a time you might prefer to dine, the food is worth the visit. Once you walk inside, you feel as though you have been transported back to Nantucket. Food is fresh and all you would expect if you were visiting New England for dinner."

  • "The food was fantastic and the oyster selection amazing and fresh and delicious. Just one problem, we had a waitress that was completely "put out" when spoken to for any reason. Everyone remarked at the table how completely put out and rude she was and it was from the moment we arrived, so we didn't feel like it was anything we did. We were celebrating a birthday (5 of us) and we didn't let her sour attitude dampen our fun. Food was great...I would go back, but if she were the assigned waitress, I'd ask for another server."

  • "This restaurant has good food and creative cocktails but it has the most ridicules rules that even the waitstaff find silly. While you wait for a table (which can at times be a long stretch) you can order a drink but no food. Wait areas are set up with tables perfect for appetizers but - no eating allowed. You must find a spot at the bar (which is like playing musical chairs) or wait until you get to your table. It seems to me they are missing out on selling a lot of food and, for a very casual dining spot, this seems like a strange rule. Food is tasty but not incredible. The desserts are fabulous though - just don't try to have one on the patio!"

  • "I'm originally from Rhode Island and I love seafood (especially shellfish). Connie and Ted's does great New England style seafood. In fact it's the only place in LA that I know of that serves Rhode Island style clam chowda (and if you don't know what that is, then look it up). I wish C&T's was closer to where I live, but I will definitely go back again and I recommend it highly."

  • "We had a reservation booked OpenTable month prior, when we arrived the host said he couldn't find our reservation. I showed him my phone reservation and he sat us. Food was very average, nothing special, greasy Fish & Chips. The service was pushy, they kept wanting to take everything while we were still eating. 2 days later I got a letter from OpenTable saying I had a "NO SHOW" for this restaurant."

  • "As a Rhode Islander, I'm prepared to say that they do a nice job on everything here, including RI style clam chowder (a little cloudier than I would expect, but still nice), stuffies with chouriçe (a little too much moisture, but still tasty), clam cakes, and other New England favorites like fried clams with bellies. More than worth a visit."

  • "Casual and welcoming vibe with incredibly fresh seafood and yummy desserts. It was the perfect restaurant to meet old friends and enjoy the food and wine."

  • "While it's true they have perfected the lobster roll, get ready to dish out a ridiculous amount of money in very little time. The service came with all of the attitude which their prices would suggest. The server rushed us to the point it was uncomfortable. Minutes later we were being raced out the door, having spent over $50 on a lobster roll and one cocktail. Gorgeous design, and obviously they're proud of it."

  • "Normally I'm a fan of C&T, however this time, I slammed my head upon entering into the glass door, got a major slice in my forehead which was bleeding for quite a while. While a busboy brought me antiseptic spray to the bathroom, I had to ask for a bandaid AND not only would the mgr not even give me Tylenol for a splitting headache(legal-really), I also was never even given a contact card AND got a bill-Great job-Never again!!"

  • "I must say I did not expect too much as I am not a fan of his other restaurant but I was very pleasantly surprised. The setting was very loud but in a good way, it would allow you to meld and blend in with everyone else. The service was friendly and inviting. The sea food was both fresh and tasty and perfect to share with a table of friends. To top it all off, it was excellent value. I would love to return here and would highly recommend it."

  • "Great food, ambiance, service. Waiter was willing to accommodate a special drink request. Only thing: valet lot was full, and they told me to come back a half hour after our reservation. Would come back in a heartbeat! And seeing Joan from Joan's on Third confirmed that it's a great place!"

  • "we started with a cocktail (plymouth on the rocks) made to perfection. every bite of the scallop appetizer was amazing. butter sauce later used for bread. the tautog was a new treat for me. as described by the waitress it had a sweet fish taste, much like shellfish. salmon was also excellent. as moist as can be while still hanging together like a steak. rhubarb pie a la mode and coffee ice cream completed the wonderful meal."

  • "Our 2nd visit. Last time we were on a mission to try their lobster rolls. They were terrific, although almost too much food for me! Maybe that's because we also tried their crab cake appetizer (wonderful!) and had the best coleslaw (and yes, fries). This time, we each tried one of the many fresh catches of the day. I had the California sea bass - and it perfectly was prepared and delicious! My husband had the blue fish (from NY) - and he loved it. This is just a great restaurant. The food and service are fantastic. It is a popular and busy place - casual and energetic and a great price point."

  • "Great seafood, the best oysters in town, wonderful New England chowder, a very good experience"

  • "Packed on a Thursday night. Very casual, lots of families, pretty loud (maybe quieter outside?). Nice beer selection and cocktail choices. At least a dozen kinds of oysters and the ones we tried were delicious--as good as we've had anywhere. Lots of different takes on top quality fresh seafood and shellfish, raw and cooked. After the oysters, we had the seafood stew and the New England boil dinner. Both were great, but we wouldn't hesitate to try other things next time. Didn't have dessert, but the cappucino was exceptionally good. Also, our server (believe his name was Tom) was very attentive, accommodating and nice. We're already thinking about next time."

  • "We go to Connie & Ted's often. Usually we have fantastic service and food. The food was great, but the service was quite lacking this time. It's not going to stop me from going back, I love the place!!"

  • "The chowder was delicious! Lobster boil was perfect as well. We had a great experience. We had wine brought to our table that was sour tasting and they quickly remedied it. Attentive staff , wonderful food. A great night!"

  • "Great restaurant. I'm glad I thought to make reservations a couple of months ahead. Had to look hard for lactose free food, but there was a wonderful seafood stew........ We will go back when in LA."

  • "Hands down our new "fav" when in LA. Freshest seafood imaginable. Grilled calamari should be its own food group! We shared steamers, the boiled dinner and OMG...the lobster roll... BETTER than what we've had in Maine. Service best in town. A little noisy in general but understandable with the family friendly atmospher. This place is a rare find...upscale food, decent prices, casual setting."
