Service was excellent.Had to wait 20 minutes beyond our reservation time, however, it was Mother's day so we understood. Food was a bueatiful array of standard buffet fare. Boiled shrimp were super. May now try for a romantic dinner. We had the Kobe steak, scallops and eggplant. Everyone stated their meal was excellent. The scallops were a little gritty but is sometimes expected.

Compass didn't hold back from that point and truly delivered in food, atmosphere, view, and especially service. The Caesar salads were poor because the dressing was flavorless, but that did not spoil our meal by any means. The view was terrific. If I could change the ambiance music, I would. It was like elevator music for senior citizens. But that would not stop me from returning. We enjoyed dinner there before going across the street to Symphony Hall. The service was fantastic; well timed, friendly, and attentive. The menu is full of creative options. The wedge salad was delicious and had enough toppings to make each bite tasty. The scallops were underdone and required A LOT of chewing! With the corn risotto it made for a tasty but very mild meal. I would have loved to have some seasoning on the scallops and a little color on the plate, even just garnish. My husbands steak and the yams side were great and well cooked. OpenTable gave us many choices but the 1000 pt reservation drew me to Compass. My wife and I entered the lobby of the hotel and saw a board showing the menu, liked the mix of plates and I clicked confirm. By the time we were 25 stories up they had the reservation and we were seated 5 minutes later as we were early for the 7pm reservation. Once seated our waitress stopped by took our drink order and we placed our order quickly letting her know we had to be at the concert by 7:30. We knew we would be late for the opening of the show. The food and ambiance well made up for the being late. Husband and I had the rib eye which was very dry.The rib eye had some sort of au jus that looked like the scrapings from the bottom of the pan, it was Gross. Daughter had the baked chicken which was very good and son had chicken nuggets, they were also good. We were seated very quickly and we did make reservations. Had to wait a very long time for our food to arrive, but our waiter comped us with an extra serving of dessert so I guess all in all it was a wash. It is expensive but you are paying for the view.
