"I had eaten at Commonwealth once before and enjoyed it immensely. This time was less so. First, our server was pretty awful. We had the feeling he might be a substitute. Very surly and inattentive. That can always diminish the experience. The food, while exquisitely presented and interesting in the combinations just didn't come together in terms of flavors. We very much appreciate the effort that goes into unexpected combinations but the whole still needs to be more than the sum of the parts. It wasn't this time around."

"Seated immediately with an early reservation. Service, while not flawless, was fine.
I ordered the tasting menu.
All of the dishes on the tasting menu were beautifully prepared and plated, very creative, interesting, and generally tasted good. I normally don't eat foie gras (the second dish), and didn't much like it. There was far too much of it compared to the other items on the plate.
The meal finished with two very rich deserts followed by a very rich truffle. While they were all delicious, I found the overall meal to be far too rich. I think it needed a bit more variety. The main course, the sweetbreads, were fine.
I would definitely go back, after they change the tasting menu."

"Superb, as always. The service here is casual and refined. The servers really know about the food and the (wonderful) wine list. There is some magic they do at Commonwealth to make the food taste like so much more than the ingredients add up to. It is amazing. A GREAT dining experience-- superb food, lovely, welcoming service."

"My expectations for Commonwealth were pretty high when we decided to go for my birthday dinner. When we left I was disappointed by our dining experience. I would say confused would be the perfect description of the food you'll find here. The dishes are beautifully plated but the ingredients in our dishes did not go well together. The cava and the dessert was the best part, otherwise I would have given them a star."

"The ambiance, food, and service were all excellent. The only reason that I didn't give Commonwealth a perfect score is because the wine pairings with the Tasting Menu were not always well matched. That said, the wines that were served were very nice."

"The food was inventive and tasty. The frozen eskimo apertif was a great start, as were the crispy kale. Pea ravioli were great, as were asparagus. Service was satisfactory, but we did have to wait quite a while between courses."
