We had a reservation for 5:30PM and were seated promptly; however, it was on a Tuesday and it was still early. Our waiter appeared new and after asking him, he had only been in the area for 4 months. He tried very hard to do a good job but it showed he was nervous. He ended up dumping a tray on my guest after he had cleaned up a table near by. There was no harm done, he and the asst. mgr. were very apologetic offered to pay for cleaning but nothing immediate. I felt more could have been done. I would give them another attempt and possibly wear protective gear.

Over rated, subpar waiter, food tasted like overdone microwave entrée. Only saving grace was the excellent flamenco floor show, nothing worth excessive price.

The Columbia Restaurant is still a beautiful landmark in Ybor City. Yet, while the signature salad and sangria were delicious, the entrees were extremely disappointing. They were bland, overcooked, and sloppy. We were pretty shocked at the plating. Food was spilling over the sides of the plates, and everything was just sort of piled on. My family has always loved this place, so we're hoping that it was just an off day.

Really appreciated being seated in a quieter dining room, as requested in my open table reservation request. The service was very enjoyable, I loved our handsome waiter. The food was so so... I had the meluza a la rusa, and there was more breading than fish. Also, we wanted decaf cafe con leche and they didn't have any because of some mixup on the coffee maker, so we had to have regular decaf coffee. It was a very good experience overall, which is what I usually experience at the Columbia.

We had been to Columbia before and really enjoyed it. This time, I think they were overwhelmed and the food fell short. There was a wedding and 2 very large groups. My husband and I both ordered fish, and both were dry and fairly tasteless. My son had the roast pork and was happy with it.

We had a great time at the Columbia. We had a table for 6 booked for 3.30 and we ran into car trouble. We were late for our reservation and we called to let them know we would be late and they still managed to accommodate us even though we were 30 min late. This would be my 3rd or 4th time at the restaurant. The service and food was great, we took our family visiting from Scotland there for my SIL birthday.Everyone complimented the food, the restaurant and the quality of service, they were impressed. The kids enjoyed it as well. I think the only thing we all commonly 'complained' about to each other was that our appetizers and our meals came out too close together, we were still eating them when our entrees appeared.

If you are looking for a unique dining experience, try The Columbia! Family owned for generations, wonderful ambiance, very professional waiters, and a family ownership that seems to genuinely care about their legacy, their patrons, and their planet. I was touched by two wine offerings commemorating beloved family pets and the fact that a portion of the proceeds go to research for animal cancer research. Their commitment to sustainable fishing is also noted in their menu. When I made our reservation through Open Table, there was supposed to be an option to select the Flamenco show. I explained to the hostess that I could not find it. Even though they were extremely busy, they found a way to accommodate us. Very good meal. Fabulous!

I have been coming to The Columbia since I was a little girl, and I can honestly say this was the first time I ever left there feeling disappointed. I had requested the central area to eat since it was a special occasion, but they put us in the back in a small, cramped room. It took the waiters over 40 minutes to even bring water to the table, and another 30 minutes past that to come back to take our order for dinner. It was my daughter's 23rd birthday, and I felt so bad for her. The food was substandard and greasy. There were seven of us there, and only two of us said the food was acceptable. I am not usually one to complain over service and food, but this was absolutely horrible. So sad.

We sat @bar first before dinner reservations. Bar svc not that great. Had to ask for silverware after our appetizer came. Had to refill my glass w/wine from bottle I ordered. They gave you minimal toast points w/the queso...which was not that good. When we went to go be seated to our table...no one takes the wine to your table...you get to not only carry the bottle&drinks thru restaurant but you have to go outside &next door to other section if you are watching flamenco show. When you go next door there's no protection from bad weather either. GREAT EXPERIENCE! One big upside....Jacob, server at dinner. He was great. food-hit or miss. crab cakes v. gd,meatballs gd, seafood casserole not great & the "famous" salad-nothing special.Show is fun

This was our first visit to Columbia and it will not be our last. While visiting from Virginia, we read the your online reviews and decided to give Columbia a try. We were not disappointed. We were extremely impressed with the massive wine list and the range of styles and prices it covered. The sommolier who helped us (sorry, I cannot remember his name) spent a fair amount of time with us to select a wine that would pair with my husbands dish-the filet, and mine which was a combo of chicken and pork--and came up with a hit! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

I made a reservation for my sons 18th birthday online. Columbia called to confirm date and time. Once we arrived the restaurant was quite busy and noisy. Our server came took our drink order. A few minutes later took our food order that's when things changed it took quite a while to get our food and it was not what I am used to at Columbia. The steaks where over cooked the pork was dry and the paella was again not to par with what I have gotten there in the past. I have been attending that restaurant for quite some time and always look forward to a fantastic meal. This time was not what I was expecting.

The food was wonderful, the sangria delightful and the décor was pleasant. We really missed not viewing the central fountain area which was under renovation and the piped in music, which was contemporary, was discordant to the menu and the restaurant theme. Service was average. A great choice for a special occasion especially if you are an early dinner eater. It got quite crowded later in the evening.

We were so excited to be going back to the Columbia. I made a reservation and requested a romantic table and accommodate my wheelchair. Having to drive an hour and a half, the rain and wind, we made it but were 15 minutes late. They were still able to seat us. Unfortunately it had to be the worst table in the whole restaurant. in a main walkway, customers and wait staff constantly passing, some knocking the table. I guess that is the table you get when you arrive late. In spite of the awful seating, the food was so, so incredibly good, even better than I remember. Our waiter was the best. He made our experience so good. This was my birthday gift to my husband and the complimentary Flan was a great touch.

We planned ahead and made reservations a couple of days in advance. Walk-ins were being told there would be up to two hour wait and this was at 3:30 PM on a Saturday in September (not in season). Once we were seated we figured part of the issue was a wedding reception that was very loud. Fortunately, the reception ended before our food arrived. This was my 2nd visit at this location. Caleb, our server, was very attentive. We had the chorizo stuffed eye of round & the roast pork. Very tender and flavorful. The portions were very generous. We only ate half after wonderful bread, a shared appetizer and a salad. The Caesar salad was tasty but heavy with dressing and a bit wilted. We'll be back to try more of the menu.
