I have been coming to The Columbia since I was a little girl, and I can honestly say this was the first time I ever left there feeling disappointed. I had requested the central area to eat since it was a special occasion, but they put us in the back in a small, cramped room. It took the waiters over 40 minutes to even bring water to the table, and another 30 minutes past that to come back to take our order for dinner. It was my daughter's 23rd birthday, and I felt so bad for her. The food was substandard and greasy. There were seven of us there, and only two of us said the food was acceptable. I am not usually one to complain over service and food, but this was absolutely horrible. So sad.

This was our first visit to Columbia and it will not be our last. While visiting from Virginia, we read the your online reviews and decided to give Columbia a try. We were not disappointed. We were extremely impressed with the massive wine list and the range of styles and prices it covered. The sommolier who helped us (sorry, I cannot remember his name) spent a fair amount of time with us to select a wine that would pair with my husbands dish-the filet, and mine which was a combo of chicken and pork--and came up with a hit! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Great experience. Jodi and Michael were wonderful servers. Food was not as good as expected. Tapas menu...scallops were small, Pincho Mixta....pork was a bit dry, sausage style (not fresh pork). This surprised me. Shrimp was wonderful.

I made a reservation for my sons 18th birthday online. Columbia called to confirm date and time. Once we arrived the restaurant was quite busy and noisy. Our server came took our drink order. A few minutes later took our food order that's when things changed it took quite a while to get our food and it was not what I am used to at Columbia. The steaks where over cooked the pork was dry and the paella was again not to par with what I have gotten there in the past. I have been attending that restaurant for quite some time and always look forward to a fantastic meal. This time was not what I was expecting.

The food was wonderful, the sangria delightful and the décor was pleasant. We really missed not viewing the central fountain area which was under renovation and the piped in music, which was contemporary, was discordant to the menu and the restaurant theme. Service was average. A great choice for a special occasion especially if you are an early dinner eater. It got quite crowded later in the evening.

We were so excited to be going back to the Columbia. I made a reservation and requested a romantic table and accommodate my wheelchair. Having to drive an hour and a half, the rain and wind, we made it but were 15 minutes late. They were still able to seat us. Unfortunately it had to be the worst table in the whole restaurant. in a main walkway, customers and wait staff constantly passing, some knocking the table. I guess that is the table you get when you arrive late. In spite of the awful seating, the food was so, so incredibly good, even better than I remember. Our waiter was the best. He made our experience so good. This was my birthday gift to my husband and the complimentary Flan was a great touch.

We were looking to go to the 1905 day this year and bring our 98 year old friend. When we were informed there was going to be no 1905 day this year, we decided to make a reservation and enjoy a nice dinner. Am I glad we did. Our 98 year old friend, my wife and myself had a wonderful time, GREAT FOOD, and and a fantastic dining experience.

We planned ahead and made reservations a couple of days in advance. Walk-ins were being told there would be up to two hour wait and this was at 3:30 PM on a Saturday in September (not in season). Once we were seated we figured part of the issue was a wedding reception that was very loud. Fortunately, the reception ended before our food arrived. This was my 2nd visit at this location. Caleb, our server, was very attentive. We had the chorizo stuffed eye of round & the roast pork. Very tender and flavorful. The portions were very generous. We only ate half after wonderful bread, a shared appetizer and a salad. The Caesar salad was tasty but heavy with dressing and a bit wilted. We'll be back to try more of the menu.

There were 9 of us at our special dinner to celebrate someone's Happy Birthday! The Coloumbia served yummy food, like the combination platter of roast pork, boliche, empanada, yellow rice , black beans and the sweet plantanos! The server was friendly and met our needs with eagerness. We enjoyed the piano music also. Great time was had by all! :-)

Ordered the Cuban sandwich which was cold and not pressed. Cheese was not even the slight bit melted. 1905 was made but she forgot the Worcestershire (sp?) sauce. Spanish bean soup was good as usual. Even though I ate at 3:30 pm I figured they would not be rushed. Sadly the food did not reflect the care it deserved for a restaurant of this stature.

I read a lot of good reviews and couldn't wait to try it but I was a bit disappointed. My wife had the grouper bilboa that was overcooked. I had the palomilla and it wasn't anything special at all. The best part of the meal was the empanadas and the margarita gaffon. I only chose something for rating #2 because I wasn't able to submit this without entering something!

I made dinner/show reservations requesting a stage side table. We were told we could sit at the bar they would start seating in 15 mins to come back, when we got to the hostess stand they said another 30 mins, we could of stayed at the bar instead of standing in the lobby. She had the fillet which was awesome, I had the piallia which frankly was a little bland and over cooked. Restroom was a mess, felt more like a gas station than a fancy restaurant. We got a table way in the back even though we requested a stage side it was hard to see the dancers. the highlight of Flamenco dancing is the sounds, but they had the music so loud you couldn't hear the dancers. All around a good night but could have been great with a few tweeks.

Took a step away from the traditional Spanish tapas foods and Mexican restaurants and decided to visit this gem of Tampa Bay area, and we were not disappointed one little bit. They have lots of vegetarian options, a wide wine, beer, and cocktail list, and a lot of variety in their dining options. The Sept 5 special appetizer was their take on fried cheese (mahon), but served with a papaya-mango chutney. I had the Eggplant Riojana and the wife had the Sept 5th special, the Pollo Salgado. Everything tasted spot on. But the one thing that was a notch above a lot of other restaurants: their amazing service. The staff, professionally dressed and groomed, were very attentive, and helpful at all times.

Our guests from out of country enjoyed the Flemenco Dance Show. However, the lone male dancer could be in a better shape and better spirit. Also the server was not as friendly or observant as what I would expect from this class of restaurants. The server got in between two tight rows of seats and our guests had to wait for a while to be seated.
