This included a stop at our table by Assistant Manger Jim, who seemed generally interested in how we were enjoying meals. Each of us had different items from the extensive menu and all were excellent, served at right times and tempertures. This was a first at the Celebration, FL location to celebrate Mother's Day for my wife. We found an energetic environment, friendly staff and an excellent waiter (Brent). We were seated immediately upon arrival even though the restaurant was completely full. Our waiter was very attentive. Their Cuban bread is excellent. We ordered the Queso Fundido as an appetizer (different than anywhere else) nevertheless it was good. The Lobster stuffed pasta was excellent. Plenty of chunks of real lobster were visible. Highly recommend the dish. We finished with the crema catalana which was good but not the best I've ever had. The restaurant is in a little down town area of Celabration. It is charming and has plenty of atmosphere. There is outside seating if you like to people watch while enjoying a delicious meal. I highly recommend it to anyone.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day 2013I made the reservation through OpenTable back in March...and everything was just fine. The restaurant called the day before to confirm the reservation. Upon arrival about 15 minutes early, our table was waiting for us. Being Mother's Day the place was full and we were told they had received over 1300 reservations for the day.
This was not our first visit to Columbia which quickly became our favorite restaurant in the area. Our meal with sangria da cava, tapas, entrees, desserts and coffee was just under $200 plus tip...a great value for the quality and excellent service for a party of four.
If you haven't tried Columbia Restaurant you owe it to yourself to be wowed from the moment you arrive. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience....5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAre the owners here? A cut above!Our experience was on Saturday evening to celebrate Mother's Day. We were seated at the reserved time, literally no wait albeit lots of people waiting for tables. Our server was fantastic, he was busy yet never made us feel he was rushed. The food was exceptional and fresh. We noted what looked like management on the floor looking to assist with any needs. We have been to the Columbia before in St Petersburg and Sand Key (don't go to that one) this was the BEST. Our experience was that of love, we will be going back for our anniversary, they were that good. From the ambiance to the outstanding food and service, the Columbia did it right. The extensive menu is a bit overwhelming, but after making our choices (mojitos and stuffed mushrooms to start, lobster canoli and shrimp diablo for entrees, and melt-in-your-mouth bread pudding to finish) we were sure we'd made the right choices. Of course I don't imagine you could go wrong with anything on the menu! The food is very good and the ambiance beautiful. The only drawback this time was with the service. It was a busy night and we had to wait for several items. Most importantly, they forgot my parents birthday, after I had requested it on the reservation and when we checked in.

Only issue was we were seated in a cubicle that had a bench seat with the back shared by the next cubicle... The seat was low ( I am 6'1") so I can only imagine everyone will think its too low and worst of all every time the guy behind me bumped the back of the bench chair I experienced a mild whiplash effect... It became very annoying and spoiled the experience for me... Fortunately my guests sat across from me and the back of their bench was on the end (walkway) I will definitely NOT sit at one of those seats again. There are other options... All things considered, Columbia Restaurant is well worth the trip.
The only thing I wish they had was a more expansive wine list. What they have is nice, but as I am a little picky on the wines I drink, I feel the offerings are quite limited. That's the only reason why I gave four stars instead of five on the food.
Portion sizes are MORE than adequate. Presentation is elegant without being stuffy. Service and attentiveness of the staff is appropriate to the venue. And the quality of the food is fantastic.
Great job, Columbia!
