my gf and I had our anniversary at The House recently, and it was simply divine. mushroom flatbread was a hit, as was the deviled egg tasting. top notch service, very in tune with their customers. The House is amazing!

I was really, really disappointed with this restaurant - not at all classy, went for a business lunch - terrible - music too loud, I asked multiple times for it to be turned down, inappropriate music too - the bartender with the ponytail kept turning it up, menu super electric, my food was terrible - greasy and tastless - no one in our party liked it - will not come back. Everyone said they were still hungry as we left the restaurant

Went to The House this past Thursday evening, nice crowd, had to wait a bit for the table but the upstairs bar was a perfect place to wait. Great food and service, very intimate atmosphere. Got a little lost trying to find it, street sign said 17th street E, but there was no 121 on the street, we crossed over Irving towards Park and found it. Would highly recommend restaurant.

Sat on the 2nd floor, which had a nice vibe (cozy yet energetic) and had a great window. Great waitress and all around service. Mushroom truffle flatbread was tops in my book. Oyster soup was good too. Short ribs were okay, but a little dry and not super flavorful. The farro squash side dish was really yummy though. Venison was outstanding, although pricey! Decent wine selection, had a nice Bordeaux. Creme brulee for dessert was good but pretty standard. Good coffee. Fun for a date night, which seemed to be most of the crowd on the 2nd floor. I'd definitely go back.

Excellent place. Really loved it. I am from Europe and quite spoiled when it gets to well prepared food in a perfect setting. This place has it all! I certainly will be back and highly recommend The House for everyone who can appreciate good quality refined cooking in a relaxing ambience. The music was nice, not the typical blasting load of NY joints. Very nice for private dinner as well as for small high caliber business dinners.
