The "Rollie Fingers" cocktail was outstanding. It was like drinking a rich mahogany desk in an intricately apportioned Victorian study clouded with cigar smoke. The scallops and toffee/bourbon dessert were equally divine.

I had high hopes due to reviews I read. BUT the price compared to the tastiness of the dishes was just not there. The service was also just OK (again compared to the price and the experience I would expect) and the restaurant had an odd dish/musty smell. I am hoping perhaps it was an off night but I was disappointed enough to share my experience. This restaurant has potential though with a great location, menu and intimate space.

Easter brunch at Colt & Gray was delicious. I had the Merguez Sausage
Crispy Foie Gras Potatoes, Frisee & Poached eggs. The sausage, made from lamb shoulder, was spicy without being overwhelming. The sweet potatoes were to die for, and I don't love sweet potatoes. Dessert was the Chocolate Ellie, a flourless chocolate cake, and if you like your cake intense and densely mousse-like, as I do, you'll love this. The bacon tuille didn't hurt, either. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. The atmosphere was elegant, clean and bright, with wine bottles filtering the April sun near the windows.

We went to Colt and Gray to celebrate my daughter's and her boyfriend's birthdays. The food and service were excellent! BUT we were seated pretty much in the bar area. Unacceptable since we had reservations for more than 3 weeks. But seating in general is tight at this restaurant. Good news! They are expanding into the space next door.

This was our first visit to Colt & Gray and enjoyed it very much. The food was prepared very well (i.e., doneness, presentation, etc.) and the service was impeccable. The wine list offers a good selection, including some very nice - but reasonably priced - wines. We had read about the restaurant in 5280 Magazine and put on our "to-do" list. We were not disappointed and definitely will go back again.
