Diner Reviews
  • "I visited this place alone for lunch on Wed 7/16 because I was in the neighborhood for business. Hostess was very friendly. Parking was easy. Sitting at the bar for lunch and the bartender was OK. Ordered a glass of Riesling and Pasta carbonara. The pasta was swimming in a pool of very salty sauce with little bacon/pancetta. Then I ordered naked chicken wings. Inside was raw. Note that what I ordered was very easy to make and should do no wrong at any restaurant. Very frustrated and disappointed with the quality of cooking and ingredient. I did not bother the bartender feeling it was pointless. He did not wonder either. Not going back at all except if my colleagues are looking for happy hour beer."

  • "Me and my USAFA graduate had the NY Strip, it was cooked to perfection, subbed asparagus for the brussel sprouts tho. Wife had the chicken carbonara, was wonderful as well. Grandma had the Salmon, loved it too. Son #2 had the shrimp carbonara, excellent. And their Amber ale is to die for... Add the view of the Air Force Academy along with the large patios, just awesome. One of my favorite places in Colorado Springs."

  • "Like the beer selection but service wasn't great. Frustrated that they didn't even use my opentable reservation. People just didn't seem to care much."

  • "We stopped the first time because we had received a book about Colorado breweries. We've gone back and taken friends because the food is fabulous, and the beer is excellent. Their small filet is delicious, as are the "Fourteener" burgers. The Bison Wellington is elegantly presented, as well as very tasty. We will be back!"

  • "We've enjoyed dining at both CMB locations in Colorado Springs. The Roundhouse location is the better of the two from a food perspective but both are good. The Interquest location is quieter that the Roundhouse location so if you're looking for a quieter dinner go there. Definitely recommend either."

  • "We had some great local stout beer and the bison meatloaf Wellington. Both were delicious!"

  • "Excellent beer. My wife and I had the seasonal beer. The food and wine is over-priced though. My veggie burger was mushy. The flavor was good, but it needed to be cooked longer. So I cannot give the food a rating higher than 'Good'. Also consider offering a bison burger on your menu - I think it would be a big selling item for you. I liked being greeted by a smiling face as soon as I walked in the door. I also like the atmosphere, the large booth seating, and the server was very good as well."

  • "I reserved our primary office staff lunch at the Colorado Mountain Brewery for 6 people. It was wonderful. The food was great, the server was very friendly, forgot her name :(. Only recommendation I have, don't put 6 people in a booth or at least ask if they prefer a booth or a table :)"

  • "The food here is very good but a little pricey for what we got. I'm surprised it's not busier but it's a little out of the way."

  • "The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant is great. It's a great place for outdoor dining with the view of Pikes and the USAFA. I would suggest dining on the north side as opposed to the south to avoid smokers in the parking lot. The Venison Eggrolls are consistently great. (The blueberry dipping sauce is a little too sweet and syrup-like for me. The sweet chili dipping sauce was better because the heat counter balanced the sweet.) The trout was SO dry. I alerted our server who very kindly took it off our bill and got sashimi out to me as quick as he could as a replacement. He was great. My husband's Mt. Beristadt burger had great carmelization on the crust, but again, was dry."

  • "Food and drinks where great. Leon was top flight, he never kept us waiting. I would be back again. And try more of the menu"

  • "They were out of the signature beer and the seasonal beer was not ready. The food portion size was small for the price that we had to pay. Server did not seem very knowledgable about the food or beverages. Very disappointed that the restaurant was founded by Air Force academy alumni and they do NOT offer a military discount."

  • "They put us in the bar which was extremely cold, we asked to move, then we received a fairly new server who got one of our orders incorrect, when the order did come up, we waited for him to get it after seeing it on the counter for him to pick up.Then we had to request our check from him after waiting several minutes for him to come back. He did bring an appetizer which we didn't eat since we were already finished dinner, no one in our party wanted a venison appetizer. He probably should have asked if he can bring a dessert for the table or give a refund on this one dinner. We were almost all finished with our dinners by the time the party got his corrected dinner. Whenever we are in Colorado Springs we come here with our Co. family."

  • "Great menu; hard to choose from so many delicious-sounding choices. A little pricey, so it would only be a special-occasion place for us. I had the gorgonzola tenderloin which was excellent! My dining partner had the meatloaf wellington, also very tasty. Our waiter was very attentive too, so great service. Love the ambiance . No complaints, other than that I won't be able to go very often due to the high prices."

  • "EXTREMELY NOISY. Great beersa nd ales. We had a great waitress. The menu has a wide selection and gluten-free options but not for breads and/or rolls(on dinners that came with potatoes and vegetables). I ordered a burrito and nowhere on the description was there a note about how hot/spicy the burrito was. I like spicy, but this was over the top. I reordered and had a great meal. Not sure I would go back."

  • "For the appetizer, we ordered the manrieta (sp q) pizza and was disappointed that it tastes bland. We ordered the half rack ribs with seasoned Fries. The fries tastes bland but the ribs were okay. However, the bison chili soup is fantastic."

  • "I was pleasantly surprised when I went to Colorado Mountain Brewery. Had the prime rib and it was awesome. For me, the winelist isn't very extensive. The staff was very courteous and the manager, Michelle, was wonderful"

  • "Came here to celebrate a birthday and would definitely go back. Our server Lindsay was top notch. Always made sure drinks were full and checked on us at good intervals. I figured I would have to eat typical pub food being a brewery but the food was excellent. I had an herb crusted steak with delicious brussel sprouts. The loaded fries were amazing as well. They also offered a free dessert or pint for the birthday freebie."

  • "Another great meal at CMB highlighted by the Bison Meatloaf Wellington, the Crispy Trout, and four in our party having the best fish 'n chips in town. I almost always have the Panther IPA, but other in the group had one of their specialty beers--a maple brown ale--that they really liked. Service was a little slow, but it was also quite busy early on a Saturday evening."

  • "We wanted to try something new!! I would say this place was bad. First of all my wife ordered and mojito and it took 10 min for them to come back and tell us they did not have any mint. Then we ordered an appetizer, which was good. The problem was our main course came out about 3 mins after we received our appetizer. The fish tacos I had were flavorless. The wife's prime rib was good. The best thing I had was the French fries."

  • "When we arrived we requested a booth and the hostess said "I guess we could clean one off for you" and walked away to do so. Not the way I would have expected her to answer my question. Our server was very nice, but when we asked questions about menu choices he seemed to only have 2 dishes he knew well enough to explain to us. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and our entrees happened to come out before we were finished with our appetizer. He promptly took the appetizer away without even asking if we were finished with it (which we were not). When we left, there were 4 people standing at the host stand and not one bothered to tell us thank you or goodnight. The food and service was sub-par and I don't think we'll be going back."

  • "Wait staff was more than a little slow and did not visit enough, but the food was outstanding! Great burgers but the short ribs and desert were the real show stoppers!"

  • "Our family just love coming for dinner at your restaurant and so look forward to the new one opening down south as that is where we live. We recently celebrated our daughter's birthday at your establishment and the service was excellent. Our waitress was delightful, taking pictures for us and helping us enjoy the cake we brought in. We felt important and valued customers to you. We also brought 2 couples from Florida to your restaurant and they enjoyed the food and service so much they insisted on going back for a second meal before they flew home. Thanks so much for all you provide. Kathleen and Larry Purvis."

  • "I gave the food three stars due to my bison welllington being cold and my whipped potatoes lacking in flavor. My wife on the other hand, really enjoyed the Yale. She said it was one of the best veggie burgers she has ever had. I enjoyed the beer and look forward to trying the others. The service was fair at best. We saw our server 3 times and he was very short with us and lacked a personality. We waited forever before we were even greeted at our table. If the service is this bad next time it will be our last visit."

  • "Well - my second visit was an awful lot like the first. The staff is really excellent. The beer is cold, delicious and surprisingly, reasonably priced. I can't get enough of the views and the patio. I love how the patio is sectioned off into smaller more intimate areas. Again...everything on the menu SOUNDS dynamite. This time I had the Bison Poppers - easily one of the best bar food appetizers in this city. The Southwest Chicken Salad Bowl was pretty much pitiful. The lettuce was mostly hard and light green like they cut up the core, no green leafy stuff. Almost no corn, black beans, or green chiles to accompany the chicken breast. The dressing was, however, was quite savory. I'll keep going, but I'm sticking to appetizers and beer."

  • "Service was Slow and not personable. Out of a signature beer (stout) BBQ sauce on Ribs was way too sweet. chocolate cake was DRY and not warm. Out of raspberry sauce for deserts. Was not told this until after plates were being put on our table. Took WAY too long to have desert delivered."

  • "Here is the thing, I love this place for it's patios, fire pits, views of the mountain, and of course it's well crafted beers. The menu absolutely blows me away with it's unique offerings. My problem is the small portion sizes and inconsistency in quality. The venison eggrolls with the blueberry bbq were out of site!!! The bison reuben was pitiful. All bread, no meat or sauerkraut....and the bread wasn't even good. I applaud the effort with the unique flavor pairings but I think you can do it better. As for the servers, bartenders, ambience, etc - TOP NOTCH. You'll always have a beer guest - as for the food...it remains to be seen."

  • "our server came by & brought our drinks along with taking our appetizer order. We waited for the rest of our group to arrive,Where we waiting for over 20 minutes for our app. Upon having our drinks refilled, our non-alcoholic beverages did not return for a following 20-30 minutes. Our waters were left empty throught the meal. Upon asking a server that was not our own for a refill he was rude and extremely unwilling to help is coworker. As we placed our meal order our server noted the kitchen was backed up & recommended we order another app. we took her advice, we waited for well over 45 minutes for our app. As our app came, within 3-5 minutes our entire meal came, making our app and salads impossible to enjoy. Our food was mediocre at best"

  • "We made reservations for 8:00 Friday night thinking it would be a safe bet coming in later than the rush. Not so much. Even with a reservation, we stood waiting for 20 minutes before we were seated in an enclosed, heated outside patio (we requested indoor seating as it was still cool out). We were the only table on the patio that was not with a large, young, noisy party. Our server, although friendly, was very preoccupied with their constant demands. She was finally able to take our order another 20 minutes after we sat down. Our food came 15 minutes later and it was great quality. The drink menu was decent. We will give it another chance early on a Sunday afternoon with the hopes for a better overall experience."
