There are only three choices - blue cheese, house vinaigrette or oil and vinegar. If you are allergic to blue cheese, or vinegar bothers your stomach you are stuck for a salad dressing. Adding french, Parmesan peppercorn, or honey mustard would be very helpful and go with the entrees on the menu. Outdoor music and a drink was nice as we waited for another member of our party to arrive.

We celebrated a birthday with a family friend and everything was perfect. Everyone who works at the Blackington does a fabulous job , very professional , very friendly. The food is always of the highest quality and presented beautifully ( sorbet presentation was excellent ! ) The restaurant is one of our favorites, very elegant , but not in the least bit pretentious. Thank you !

Love the Blackington Inn. We went on a Monday night to see the Sinatra entertainer. Sat out on the patio and the food, ambience and service were spectacular. We shared several appetizers like the scallop wrapped in bacon, stuffed mushrooms and escargot. All were flavorful and delicious. For entrees 2 of us got the Bass special and the rest ordered off the regular menu. All the entrees were prepared perfectly. The entertainment did not disappoint either. While we were not sitting directly in view of the performer it sounded like we were listening to a Frank Sinatra CD. The only flaw to the meal was the Carrot Cake, it was just OK. Our server Justin made the night more enjoyable. Wine list was very reasonably priced. We will be back.

My Dad and I took my Mom to her favorite place for dinner, the Col. Blackinton Inn. This place never disappoints! The Inn is beautiful inside and out, the food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. Our waiter, Bernard, welcomed us like part of the family and proceeded to fully inform us of all of the specials in the most deliciously descriptive manner. I look forward to my next visit to the Inn.

The food was good and the service started out good but we as we neared the end of our meal we felt a bit rushed as the server tried to clear some plates that some of us weren't finished with. After clearing all the dishes I had planned to order a dessert but the server disappeared for what seemed like 5-10 minutes. Because of her absence I decided not to order the dessert when she finally returned with the check. We've been there a handful of times and it's a nice upscale restaurant in our town but we may not return for awhile.

We took a friend out to celebrate his retirement and had a wonderful time. The Inn is kept in such good repair with gleaming hard wood floors and lovely bright paint colors on the different dining rooms. The food is always amazing and the service is beyond compare. Our waiter Ferras was welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating. I'll always recommend and return to the Col. Blackinton Inn.

The Inn was recommended by a friend for our anniversary. The staff was friendly, polite and attentive. They went out of their way to get us terrace seating where we enjoyed the sound of live jazz music by two outstanding musicians. The ambience was classy and romantic. There was an ample wine list. The food was outstanding. We both had a seafood dish - clams, mussels, scallops, shrimp in a spicy red sauce. Excellent! For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake and a terrific cup of coffee. A perfect summer evening dinner! I can also imagine dining inside the cozy inn during the cold winter months. We will definitely be back.

As with its sibling restaurant, Luciano's, the dress code is a mere hope, not even an exhortation, still less an actual requirement. The men in the table abutting us were wearing pocket t-shirts, shorts and sneakers w/o socks. If I wanted that ambiance, I'd go to a health club snack bar or sports pub. Food was excellent, other than the "risotto" being little more than sticky white rice, devoid of any content. It was tasty, however, and absorbed the bearnaise sauce, which is why I chose it as a side. My salmon and lobster was rich; the chowder equally good. My wife enjoyed the French onion soup and her chicken. We enjoy coming here for special occasions, which this was.

The Colonel Blackinton Inn is a rare find in this area. We like the way the dining rooms are small with each about 5 to 7 tables. We ate inside even though it was a nice evening but we enjoyed the quiet antique rooms. Outside the dining was beautiful with a "Frank Sinatra" singer. This type of restaurant is very nice with good food and ambiance. Wish we had more like this in the area. The food we ordered was delicious and service was excellent. We were there on a weeknight early so we had a lot of attention. Highly recommend the Colonel Blackinton Inn.

My wife's dinner was excellent. She had the baked stuffed lobster,a little pricey but very delicious. Unfortunately,I was disappointed in the scrod dinner that I ordered. It was a huge piece,it was very bland, and the Caesar salad I ordered to start with was kind of wilted.the service was subperb, and the dessert we ordered hit the spot because of the lackluster dinner that I had. We will still go back,I will stay away from the scrod.

The lovely quiet atmosphere of this inn makes for a delightful evening out. The food was good - even very good - just not great. The included dinner salad was, in my view, skimpy. I would like them to include a bit nicer salad or not include it at all. Dinners were not inexpensive (the veal "special" was north of $40.) and, in my view, the food was not in line with the price. I also don't like when a waiter fails to mention the price of a special - especially when it is priced above most items on the menu. I have to believe that they rely on folks being too embarrassed to ask.

A great place for a nice dinner out. Treat yourself and family or friends to a great dinner at a charming and elegant dining experience. Love the food, its worth the money when you want that special place to go. We have been many times and have never been disappointed. Make reservations well in advance and don't plan on waiting in the bar before dinner as there really isn't one as many patrons eat in the small eight to ten seater bar. It is probably the only thing missing, a nice sized bar area but it is a minor issue. Outside patio is nice on a warm summer nite and Sunday brunch is also the best. Enjoy!

We went to celebrate our 5th anniversary and asked for a quiet area. Although we could only get 5:30 reservations the same day they were able to give us a very romantic spot is a small room. The room is decorated with original art depicting typical New England scenes. There was a rose at every table. We both had seafood scampi which was delicious. It had large pieces of lobster as well as shrimp and scallops in it. The portion size was plenty. The waiter, Bernard, was personable and gave us just the right amount of attention.
