Avoid the Boston and Providence traffic bur enjoy an upscale dining experience. Nice wine and drink list- attentive waitstaff. Had the wild salmon special which was wonderful. Interesting history of this Inn which adds to the ambience. Was a bit loud in our room but not excessive. Would absolutely dine here again- not sure what took us so long!

One of the very few local options for a special occasion dining experience in Attleboro. Had a lovely time, on Sunday, celebrating a milestone birthday with my sister and a friend. They both ordered off the menu and I had brunch. Enough variety and I had a 'little bit of everything' - or close to it. I was content. They were content. We were not rushed. Service was very good. I wanted to go for dinner Friday night but they book at least 7 - 10 days ahead for weekend so next time I will plan better!

The Inn is absolutely charming. The wait and bar staff most attentive. We took the staff's recommendation as to the appetizer which was a seafood medley and delish! Both the scrod and filet dishes were outstanding! GREAT, romantic environment! BRAVO!

It was my birthday so we wanted to go out for a special dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful. The service was great! We took advantage of the prix fixe menu. We each had a glass of wine. I upgraded my appetizer to the lobster bisque while my husband had the calamari. For the entree, I had stuffed filet of sole and my husband had the flat iron steak. This was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. We both chose creme brulee for dessert. Everything was delicious! It was a very memorable evening.

While I rated this experience as a good overall we were anticipating much more from this experience. WE found the staff and the atmosphere to be excellent we were expecting much more from the setting, menu offerings, and quality of the food and dining experience in general. I would suspect this restaurant would be worth a try for outdoor dining in the warmer weather. Overall we will not be returning.

solid service and food. My salmon was perfectly cooked and flourless chocolate disappeared quickly. My guest had ravioli that looked great. Unbelievably accommodating staff. Had the opportunity to interact with the owner and could see why the service by the staff was excellent. This is not exactly an area known for fine dining, but It would not hesitate dining here again.

I have been going to Colonel Blackinton for many years and have never been disappointed in the food or the service. Starting with the cozy bar to the large comfy chairs for dinner that make you feel like your sitting in your own dining room. The menu is excellent , but the specials are what I wait for. We recently had an 80th birthday for my mother including 7 grandchildren that was wonderful. They are very accommodating and friendly. I always suggest this restaurant to people for the dining experience. It's a hidden gem in Attleboro.

This is our "go-to" restaurant for special occasions. The food is always fabulous, service is exceptional, set is an old, but updated, New England Inn.The portions are extremely generous: salad, bread and vegetables are included with the meal. They are very sensitive to special dietary needs and do all they can to acommodate.

We went to this restaurant via a gift card we received for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The choice could not have been any better elsewhere. The atmosphere is great, the setting is beautiful, and the food was delicious. Perhaps it is somewhat pricey, but the food portions certainly make up for the costs. We can't wait to go again.

I made my reservation using OpenTable. The seating I requested was on the patio, weather permitting. Otherwise, a room with a fireplace. When we arrived there was a private function being held on the patio. Needless to say we were both very disappointed as it was a beautiful day. Once seated our waiter introduced himself. We both found him to be quite annoying for a restaurant as the Inn. Throughout our entire stay he was interrupting us joking about how we were enjoying the food. It was service I was not used to at the Inn. We have always enjoyed a quiet lunch/dinner and were you can have a quiet conversation. However, both my friend and I both agreed this waiter was more suited for a Applebee's or 99 but not the Inn.

My wife brought us here to celebrate my birthday. It has been a few years since we ate here, unfortunately. We certainly have missed out on some good meals by going elsewhere. The service, food, atmosphere, etc. All as expected. I am pretty sure that the menu is more extensive than I remembered from our last visits. We certainly will not wait as long for our next meal here. Do yourself a favor, stop in and enjoy a relaxing, great tasting meal.

This was my first time at Blackinton. We went mid-week and were seated immediately (plenty of open seating) and our server greated us promptly. The menu was varied with a grilled selection, pasta and classic italian options. The apps/entrees were served quickly, looked and tasted great! Our server did take some time to check in after dessert but he did mention that he had 3 tables in 3 different rooms. The specials were kind of pricey (but delicious) so be cautious when ordering.

The food (her: tender escargot with juicy, perfectly-cooked ribeye entree; me: creamy lobster bisque with succulent lobster scampi) was outstanding as always at Col. Blackinton. It was our first anniversary and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the service. Our server was very busy so service was not great - which is a disappointment based on past experience.

The food was amazing as always. Waiter was very nice, but the must have been under staffed, we had different people coming to our table to make sure things were ok. When our waiter would finally show up he was out of breathe, like he'd been running across the restaurant. We will still be coming back for our anniversary each year!

We have been coming to the Colonel for 10 years now - it's our favorite restaurant. The owners, Tony and Kim, are wonderful and have done a great job with the inn and the menu. Wait service is always the best. and the menu has interesting and very delicious foods to choose from. The specials are always creative and fun. During late spring through early fall you can eat outside, and there is live music during the week and on weekends. The Sunday brunch is apparently wonderful, and is on our to do list. We've never been disappointed by either the service or the food. They have a well stocked bar and the wine list offers a nice variety of wines. Quantities are ample, but the quality and flavor is why we go to The Colonel.

The ambience was lovely. The server was friendly and knowledgable. Our reservation was for 8PM and we were seated immediately. We ordered one appetizer and drinks. We placed our dinner order, but it was not brought out until 9:40PM. That was way too late - we waited too long so I cannot adequately access it's quality. At that time, I was too tired to eat so ended up bringing home 3/4 of our meals. Asked why it was taking so long and did not get a response except "they haven't forgotten you".

I was so looking forward to a great evening after reading all of the reviews. Service was just OK, server never checked back with us to see if the meal was satisfactory. The french onion soup was flavorless and served without a crouton, just a dollop of cheese. The ceaser salad was dry and not very flavorful. The fish special was good, but very expensive at $32.00. We sat outside to enjoy the entertainment which was two gentlemen and was ok. Maybe I missed something of why the reviews are mostly 5 stars. Might try brunch one day but will not take the long drive for another dissapointing dinner.

There are only three choices - blue cheese, house vinaigrette or oil and vinegar. If you are allergic to blue cheese, or vinegar bothers your stomach you are stuck for a salad dressing. Adding french, Parmesan peppercorn, or honey mustard would be very helpful and go with the entrees on the menu. Outdoor music and a drink was nice as we waited for another member of our party to arrive.

Love the Blackington Inn. We went on a Monday night to see the Sinatra entertainer. Sat out on the patio and the food, ambience and service were spectacular. We shared several appetizers like the scallop wrapped in bacon, stuffed mushrooms and escargot. All were flavorful and delicious. For entrees 2 of us got the Bass special and the rest ordered off the regular menu. All the entrees were prepared perfectly. The entertainment did not disappoint either. While we were not sitting directly in view of the performer it sounded like we were listening to a Frank Sinatra CD. The only flaw to the meal was the Carrot Cake, it was just OK. Our server Justin made the night more enjoyable. Wine list was very reasonably priced. We will be back.
