Diner Reviews
  • "Our golf threesome visits myrtle Beach yearly. We learned about this restaurant years ago from a local golf pro. It has been a yearly event to which we look forward. The chefs (2 of them) are inventive and use largely locally produced foods. The quality of ingredients is superb and the herbs and spices really suit the dishes. We shall return over and over and over and........."

  • "Glad we had reservations! Arrived on time and seated immediately, while some waited. Great food and service. Crowded bar scene. Will definetly return. This would be amongst our top five for The Strand!"

  • "The service was quite good, noise level increased as the evening progressed. The food was fine, not exceptional. There was more breading than oyster, so I will stay away from fried oysters here."

  • "Nice change of pace to the more casual restaurants in Myrtle Beach."

  • "Not only does this restaurant off fine dining and fantastic desserts, it is an art gallery as well. The scene is set with tasteful jazz music playing in the background. I've had coffee and dessert in the mid afternoon as well as dinner. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience which is not to be missed. Can't wait to return."

  • "Excellent food and atmosphere. However, I was disappointed in the service. We had a group of seven which seemed too much for our server to handle, despite the fact the restaurant was not crowded. She was not knowledgeable about the menu or specials. I like when the server makes suggestions; I like to feel confident about what I am ordering. We also ordered a bottle of wine and she was unable to open and present it. It was just awkward."

  • "I chose this restaurant from reviews on OpenTable, Even so, it exceeded my expectations. I loved the artwork and thought my dinner was delicious (I had the filet mignon with grilled asparagus and asked for a substitution for the mashed potatoes--the substitution offered was saffron rice.) The steak was cooked as I requested, medium well, the asparagus was nicely grilled and not tough, and the rice was very tasty. I also was delighted by my dessert of the triple chocolate mousse cake. I don't think I could have had a better dinner anywhere in the Myrtle Beach area. I also enjoyed a rye whiskey-based Old Fashion cocktail and a glass of red wine. Some of the dishes had spicier preparations than I prefer so I had to choose carefully."

  • "We go to Collector's annually when visiting Myrtle Beach. Though the menu is somewhat limited at this time of year, my guest and I both found something to our liking: the scallop cakes are divine and do not disappoint; I had the duck breast which was cooked just as I like it. Kudos to the server, who asked the right questions to get the desired result! Definitely a "keeper"."

  • "Wow! What a great place to dine. This restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and art was fabulous. You have a great wine list and the meal was amazing! You are Myrtle Beach's best kept secret for out of towners. Thank you for a great dining experience."

  • "A request was made to be seated in that area next to the far wall from the entrance...not so. Evidently, a large group reserved the entirre area for the evening and the only table available at 6:30 was along the hallway leading to the rear rooms. We were, of course, disappointed by the seating, oggled by all who passed by on there way to and from the bathrooms. Not the fine dining experience expected."

  • "We go to collector's a couple of times a year and it is the benchmark against which we measure all other restaurants. we have never had a bad meal here and actually never an average one either. it is always superb. we have eaten at all the best restaurants in charleston and have not found one even close. i prefer collectors even to some of the finer places ive eaten in nyc, chicago, and london with steaks as good as mortons or capital grille for half the price and seafood entries as good as a great seafood restaurant. excellent appetizers (the goat cheese is truly the best ive tasted from all over the world) to huge delicious desserts. i always return gratefully and leave full and happy"

  • "We went there for valentines day dinner. My fiancé had been wanting to go for some time so I surprised her with what I thought would be a romantic dinner. However, we were sat in the hallway at what seemed to be a makeshift table. Service was very slow and inconsistent. The only enjoyable part was the food. The bill was for a 5 star dinner that I felt we got in a 2 star environment. Probably will not return."

  • "Don't let the Cafe' name fool you. This is truly a diamond in the ruff. The decor, service and menu puts this fine restaurant at the top of my list in the Myrtle Beach area. My fiance' was just as pleased on our Valentine's dinner. A must try! PS. Espresso Martini was theeeeeeeee best too!!!"

  • "We had heard that Collectors was one of the more popular restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area and it certainly deserves its reputation. Food and service were both great; pricing was moderate, but noise level was a little high although not excessively obtrusive. Menu selection and presentation was very good with a nice variety of meat and fish choices, even a few gluten-free selections for those who have such concerns. We would certainly recommend it to others and will dine there again."

  • "We were visiting for the weekend of Valentine's, for the Marathon. I wanted something that was removed from the sponsor restaruants of the race and romantic, since it was Valentines. This place was fabulous. Wonderful service, decorated for the holiday very tastefully. I had a filet, he has salmon and we shared. We had the goat cheese appetizer. Although it was really good, it would have been helpful to have known that as a standard they bring delicious bread out with three dipping sauces. We would have chosen a different appetizer had we known. So maybe the waitress could make sure if people have never been there before, and explain things a little more. Everything we had was outstandingly prepared and delicious."

  • "Excellent local's favorite for food and service. We enjoy each visit. Appetizer's are a must.. Great wine selections and entrees are mouth watering bursting with a fusion of flavors. Desserts are decadent making it difficult to select only one. We truly enjoyed our evening."

  • "I have eaten at all the fine dining places at the north and south ends of the beach and without a doubt this is what you would call a diamond in the rough. I would highly recommend the Collectors Cafe to anyone for romantic dining, great service, excellent food and wine, food greatly prepared, overall I would rate you a deserving 10 on the rate scale. Thanks for a very special dinner evening at the Collectors Cafe."

  • "Ever since Carlos retired from Collectors, we've been disappointed in the black bean cakes - just weren't the same. But this time the "new guy" got them just right. And everything else at Collectors is as good as it gets for upscale dining on the Grand Strand."

  • "Everything about our experience at this restaurant was great. Both of us started with a sald, and both were properly prepared and tasty. My wife had the scallop cakes and I had the Bouillabaisse for dinner. The flavor of the fish, and especially the broth, was excellent. Service was prompt. They had several half bottle of wine selections to choose from, though the whole wine selection was priced a bit high. We would definitley go back when in area."

  • "Just get all of your service personnel on board with your offerings for the evening. Our server never offered nor mentioned specials for the evening and overhearing another server go through the specials with her table, we most likely would have ordered several. Meal was fine what we ordered..no complaints."

  • "The most enjoyable meal we've had in Myrtle Beach. We were a bit apprehensive when they seated us at a counter, in front of the chefs "arena", but the flurry of activity just made the experience all the more rewarding. Everything about the food, from it's beautifully artistic presentation, to the explosion of flavors on our taste buds, was memorable. Definitely will return, knowing our next meal will be just as rewarding. Definitely will recommend to others."

  • "I had not been to Collector's in some time so thought I would try it out. I was seated at a nice quiet table (perfect for one). The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Drinks were good, so was the app, but the featured Tuscan stew was not as tender and flavorful as I expected. I finished with a nice slice of key lime pie. I would return most definitely."

  • "This restaurant has an additional vegetarian menu - a very rare find in Myrtle Beach! Plant-based meals are hard to come by in this area, so we were very pleased when the menu offered something more than a salad-hold-the-xxx or pasta with 4 pieces of broccoli and 1/2 pound of cheese. Thank you for your thoughtful menu build!"
