We were disappointed in menu options and that their wines by the glass options were gone. It was a beautiful day but outdoor table service was limited as well. It is a good location for pre-theater, ballet and opera dinners. The noise level is also low enough that we can actually carry on a conversation. However, the food was not as good this time as it has been in the past and the menu options seemed less appealing. The roast chicken was a poplular choice at our table due to an article in the paper that morning about the chicken at other restaurants. However, the chicken here was not as flavorful as it should be. The apple salad, although very good, should be offered in an appetizer size. I go every time I go to the Glass Garden, but most recently I have been there twice (and planning a third) when taking guests to Book-It Repertory Theatre just across the walkway from you in the Center House Theatre.I am on the board there as well and would love to have a dinner/theater offering together. We have arrangements with other local eateries, but you are the closest and the best! I would love to put you in touch with our staff to see what we might arrange. We are just beginning our outstanding (and acclaimed!) performance of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn Uncensored which will be followed by The Financial Lives of the Poets by Jess Walter. This fulfilled both. Prices were reasonable. Our guest had the hamburger which looked like 1/2 pound, bacon thick enough to see; he pronounced it excellent. I tried his shoestring french fries and we both thought "better than McDonalds". My husband had a salad which he said was excellent, but enough for a small country. I had the small goat cheese gnocchi appetizer; fine flavor, sufficient food. The only disappointment was the panna cotta dessert; too much gelatin. We'll eat there again when visiting CGG. We absolutely loved our lunch entres ~ the flavors and presentation were exceptional. Our waitress provided good, non-intrusive service, and we enjoyed looking at the artwork on the walls and collection in our table (and we walked around to other tables to view other collections).
