Diner Reviews
  • "For the price, there are many better options in NYC for fine dining. The portions were extremely small and nothing that we ate on the 4 course tasting menu stuck out. However, the restaurant does an EXCELLENT job with dietary requests. I asked for no butter in my dishes and they even gave me another bread option that had no butter. I was very impressed with how careful they were with my request and I was only trying to watch my weight."

  • "Not a big foodie, but have to say this was a really fun experience. The staff is extremely attentive and go out of their way to make it a great experience. Also, the food was fantastic. Also, we had a birthday, and they were spot on in noting it."

  • "I came here on Wednesday for my birthday dinner with my best friend. I just asked for the best table because Ive heard great things about the restaurant. THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND! the manager seated me at the best table and when my friend arrived, gave us the menu and to my surprise it said "Happy Birthday Michelle!" on it! and everyone wished me a happy birthday & the manager came up to speak to us at the table later on. We got the four course tasting menu a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. did not leave a morsel on my plate. Nor was any glass ever empty because they were extremely prompt on service. I had such a great birthday. thank you to the staff!"

  • "I eat at lots of restaurants around the globe and this place is unreal-Had the seven course Tasting and it was just unreal. Every course was better than the previous. If you enjoy great food and great service I would say go. Lots of NY restaurants to choose from and I am so happy I chose this place."

  • "Great amateurs of fine food, my wife and I had reserved a restaurant for each night of my stay in NYC. This one, Collicchio & Sons, came as the big disappointment of our stay. Nice interior design and that's it. Way too expensive for the quality of the food and wine. We had dinner the day before at Daniel and the same wines are at lower price there. The white wine was served warm. The appetizers were tasteless and my monk fish completely undercooked. I could barely eat half and the waiter did not even ask for feedback on the course. We left with the impression to have paid way too much for a tourist trap. There are many great options in NYC, I recommend you avoid this one."

  • "I cannot express how amazing our dining experience was and has always been with Colicchio and Sons! It is always a top of the line experience all the way around from the staff to the plating of the food to the taste and freshness of the food! We are always treated like royalty when we dine here. The chef brings an artistic explosion of deliciousness in every bite. The amount of thought/care/love that they put into the food speaks volumes. I would HIGHLY recommend this to all of my foodie friends! Dive in and give your taste buds a ride of a lifetime!"

  • "My son got engaged so we took them to dinner and a play. I had booked through open table and made mention of the celebration. We sat down to dinner and the menu had a title congratulating them. From there it went uphill. I cannot tell you how exceptional the food and it's presentation, wine list, service and ambience were. The four of us tried everything, I think. Everything was fabulous. My husband and I have been to the top ranked restaurants in the city. I vote this #1"

  • "The food, drinks and service were excellent. The restaurant made our anniversary dinner extra special by making up our own menu with our names on it. They also gave us a special dessert. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone celebrating a special day."

  • "We had the seven course Chef's Table. As foodies, we were very excited about the meal. However, it was a little disappointing. I will admit to being particular and hard to please, but this was not as good as billed or expected. The first course and the meat course were exceptional. The other courses were very average. Bottom line, the seven courses and the wine pairings were over $600 with tip. If the food would have been exceptional, then I would not be complaining. Not likely to get me as a return customer."

  • "We did the tasting menu. Pasta was extremely spicy. StEak was undercooked then too tough to chew . Kids had plain penne type pasta at $18 for a half serving. Diner beware. Don't buy the hype"

  • "I enjoyed the setting and service at Colicchio & Sons but was slightly disappointed by the food. All of it was quite delicious but at the level this restaurant operates, they need to do better. The chef's creations were good but ingredients were often reused (overused) across courses and it fell short of the $95 price tag that accompanied it. If you're on an expense account and want a great place to go for some "good" food and drinks, this is a good choice. If you're looking for that ultimate food experience, keep looking..."

  • "The waiter who took our drink order forgot who he had started with and thus neglected to ask two in our party if they would like something. When I then asked for a drink after the others were delivered, I asked for a negroni, which he didn't seem to be familiar with. I asked which kinds of gin they had and he said "Hennessey", which is not a gin....I finally gave up after trying to get the information from him and just told him I'd like Hendricks (perhaps that's what he meant when he said Hennessey?) but either way he was clearly unfamiliar with the options. At $200+/person, this kind of service is inexcusable."

  • "After a busy business trip to New York we were looking for a restaurant where we could relax and enjoy our time in the city. Colicchio & Sons was just that. Service was amazing. Food was interesting and delicious. Drinks were fabulous too. We did the 4 course tasting menu and were very impressed. They even sent us home with a muffin for later. What a treat. Perfect for little goodie for traveling. Yum! Make your reservation now."

  • "We had a really excellent dinner at Colicchio and Sons this weekend. I noted that it was my husband's birthday when I made the reservation and everyone who served us knew and wished him a happy birthday. Service was impeccable and the food was wonderful, too. We had the four-course tasting menu paired with wines and we loved every course. The highlights were definitely the hamachi with beet and the charred octopus. My husband loved the sirloin, but I felt like it was the least interesting part of the meal. Still good, but nothing like tender octopus that tasted like a summer trip to the ocean! The music choices were a little odd, but helped mask the sounds from a table with several young children. Overall, a very special meal."

  • "We had high expectations for dinner and we were not disappointed. From the moment we entered to the time we left, we were treated with outstanding service. We were warmly greeted by our hostess who told us a bit about the history of the restaurant. We were introduced to our server and to the wine steward. We had a chat with the steward on the wines offered and on the pairings chosen to go with the food. We selected the seven course dinner and were paraded with delightfully prepared dishes that tickled the senses. The serving team was outstanding in presenting the dishes. Each dish was explained as it was brought out and every one on the serving team was knowledgable about the menu. Every dish was exquisite. We will be back"

  • "We had an amazing meal! The tasting menu was wonderful on its own, but rather than order two, we asked if the chef could give us some more variety. Chef Taylor himself came to our table to discuss it with us and excitedly offered to customize our menu and try out some of his new ideas! For each course, we received the day's tasting dish and a plate of the chef's creation (e.g. fluke Crudo w/cucumber, harissa tuna w/watermelon & chili, corn casoncelli w/black truffle, fried head cheese w/ turnips & pickled peppers), which he came out personally to explain. We loved the personal attention and Chef Taylor's creativity! In addition, the wait staff was attentive and cheerful, and the cocktails were all delicately balanced and delicious."

  • "Dining here was a real treat. The space is amazing with high ceilings and large galss windows worth a visit just to check out the restaurant. The wait staff is on the ball. The sommolier knowledgable and patient The food absolute art and amazing flavors. My 8 yr old son had special ordered some pasta and cheese. They were acomodating. The charge $27. Way over the top for a small bowl of mac n cheese. I complained and the end result it dissapered from the check we did have a substantial check however it was worth every penny. • "Every time we go to New York we have dinner at Colicchio's and it never disappoints! We went on Wednesday and were welcomed back with a complimentary glass of champagne. How often have we been to hotels or restaurants repeatedly and every time we are greeted with the question:" Is this your first time dining/ staying with us?" even though it would be so easy to track repeat customers! It is such a nice touch to acknowledge their customers and Colicchio's did it in a very nice way. The food, as always, was superb. We had the heirloom tomatoes, the sea bass, turbot and the ice cream (toasted marshmallow!). For a Wednesday night it was buzzing, there was a number of business people and the atmosphere was good. We will be back!"

  • "This is a great restaurant, no other way to really put it. It is pricey, but the food and service warrant the expense. Every dish that came out was absolutely delicious and every person on the staff there, could speak to each dish. The service was impeccable and overall was an amazing dining experience!!"

  • "This dining experience was by far our favorite while staying in NY. The food was amazing with lots of little extra bites compliments of the chef. The staff was warm and welcoming and the beautiful aesthetics completed a perfect night. Check out their sister restaurant in the Hampton's "Topping Rose" it's almost as wonderful!"

Parking is only $10-14 on weekend at lot two blocks away on 10th and Highline is above you for a pre and/or post-dinner walk."

  • "We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Colicchio & Sons last week and it was an outstanding evening on all fronts. The food was excellent - creative, delicious, beautifully presented; and the service was some of the best we've experienced. We chose the four course dinner with wine parings and each course was wonderful. The staff were warm, knowledgable and accomodating; and the pace of service was adjusted to accomodate our lingering over each offering. I had let them know in advance it was my daughter's birthday and birthday wishes were printed on our menu! It was an evening to remember for years to come."

  • "We had an early week-night dinner for three. Everything was exemplary. The room's clean lines and strong browns suggest the self-confidence of a main line steak house while the food shows a confident willingness to experiment. The service was simply excellent. Highly recommended."

  • "Five stars hardly seems enough for Colicchio & Sons. Every aspect of the experience is always wonderful...inventive food, well-explained when served; wonderful wine pairings similarly explained; great ambience (one of the most comfortable and spacious places with a bearable noise level in NYC); and a staff that consistently goes out of its way to ensure your evening is perfect. Every visit is great!"

  • "We had a phenomenal experience at Colicchio and Sons. Darren was our waiter, and he did a tremendous job from beginning to end, although everyone we came in contact with was also extremely professional and lovely. The food was outstanding. I think it was the best octopus I've ever had. Actually, the poached oyster that came out as a "gift from the chef" was delicious, and we didn't even know it was coming! Every part of our experience there was great, and we will be sure to go back again."

Was costly but we expected that. Not for faint of checkbook for sure but met our expectations. The music, lighting, relaxed atmosphere all played off each other to create the best ambiance."
