We visited NY for my girlfriends 30th birthday and decided to celebrate both her birthday and our engagement at Colicchio & Sons. They rose above all expectations with a personalised birthday menu, champagne, congratulations from staff and a birthday and congratulations ice cream desert. Food was immense and this place truly helped us celebrate in style! Best dinning experience in my life.

Wonderful choice of a la carte as well as menu selections (mix and match permitted). Dishes were of the highest quality, innovative but not to the point of obscuring the flavors of the ingredients. Service was exceptionally good, attentive but not interfering with an intimate dinner. Excellent wine list and perfect recommendation from the sommelier. Overall, well worth the expense.

The dining room is hip, comfortable, and the tables are well-spaced. There is a sophisticated 7-course seasonal tasting menu, a 4-course prix fixe menu plus the option of going a la carte. We opted for the 4-course and unlike some restaurants, they allowed us to make a substitution. Several unannounced "amuse bouches" were included plus tiny candies following dessert. The wine list was extensive and the service was impeccable. When they called to confirm our reservation they inquired whether we were celebrating and we said we were. Consequently, our menus were personalized with "Happy Birthday" and our names. We were also brought a complimentary dessert with a candle. Hardly cheap, but it's NYC and for a special occasion...

This is one of the best meals that I have had in New York. From the food to the service to the specialty drinks, it was all really fantastic. We had the Chef's seasonal tasting menu and there was not a bad course in the bunch. This is an absolute must for anybody who enjoys eating out in NY.

This dinner set a personal record for extra amuse bouche and palate cleansers, all of which were actually outstanding. In some restaurants these seem to be the chef's little experiments, but here they were already perfected and fit well into the meal. Not everything was perfect - the risotto was a bit too salty - but the duck and loup de mer were outstanding. The donut dessert did not live up to expectations - in what sense were those really donuts? - but since we shared one dessert, maybe we just picked the wrong one. The only reason the service did not rate outstanding was that the waiters were a bit too intrusive in seeking our feedback on the experience ("How are the first few bites of your main course" is an actual direct quote).

After walking the High Line and browsing the Chelsea Market we were hungry! With so many choices (all a bit pricey) it was hard to decide. We had been to Colicchio and Sons about 3 years ago, but only ate in the Tap Room. It was really good, but we hadn't been on the neighborhood since then. We gave it a shot and ate in the main dining room. Beautiful modern decor, but warm and invitiing. The Amuse Bouchée kept coming. All the food on the four course menu was fabulous. Grilled octopus, house-made pasta, steak and a roulade were cooked to perfection. The warm rolls with sea salt were addictive. The service was superb. We will definitely be back, we'll visit Chelsea just for Colicchio and Sons!

Dinner for 3 cost just under $500. Few a la carte menu choices and to prix fixe menus. $99 or $150. They insist that everyone at table order the same. Hard to do with more than two dining. We had the $99 4 course menu, which was excellent.

Great seasonal tasting menu with wine pairings. The rabbit with bacon and turbot were highlights for us. Wine pairing was fun with only one miss- an oloroso sherry which should have been a microbrew (!) beer as it was with a pretzel and spicy mustard associated course! Loved a red cornas and a nice white bourgogne aligoute. Casual chic not stuffy and loud/energetic and busy rather than intimate

Chose C&S on the basis of Tripadvisor, which I rarely use, to celebrate a milestone birthday. I couldn't have been happier. Everything about the occasion was flawless, from the warm welcome through the amuse bouches to the food and wine. Yes, it is a bit pricey and no, I don't care - you get what you pay for. Classy establishment and as I've alluded to in the title, I will use any excuse to get back to NY just to visit here again.

We had a good, solid dinner but nothing more, which was disappointing in view of the prices. No standout dishes other than maybe the best Stilton I have ever tasted, served at perfect room temp. The wine list is interesting and very fairly priced, with many wines only about twice the retail price. Knowledgeable and friendly sommelier.

What a memorable experience! After researching for weeks leading up to our trip to the big apple, I stumbled across Colicchio & Sons which already had great accolades and now I know why first hand! I booked our reservations for 2, celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, which our lead waitress Becky educated us that it was the 'wooden' anniversary. (we had no clue, rather just looking for an excuse for a great night out..) From our initial amuse bouche course (we were actually surprised with three of them) right until our final dessert course and parting cookies to go (special gluten free edition for my wife even) we were blown away! Unparalleled service, fantastic food and memorable overall experience, we will be back for sure!

Well, when I went to Collichio & sons I was already in town for eight days. Since I arrived, I was testing restaurants all over Nyc. I can easily say that this one was the best by far. Go for the "four course"! If you find the wine pairings too expensive, pick a regular Pinot Noir from the menu and you will be fine. The first dish in the sequence is the best octopus I've eaten im my whole life (by far). It was so good, that made the steak look quit common, but take it as a complement for the octopus. Can't wait to get back to New York and try it again!

I went to Collicio &Sons on a Saturday night with a friend. It was hoping. A great vibe and beautifully decorated, simple but elegant. We both enjoyed the meal. My friend ordered from the menu and O chose the 4 course sampler with the wine pairing. Loved the food. I think out of the 4 courses the pasta was my favorite. You could taste the fresh ingredients used. Only reason they didn't get the 5th star was the wines paired with the meal were served in a timely fashion. Generally came to early or I had to ask for it. If I am in NY again would like to try it.

We had dinner for four for my sister-in-laws 40th birthday. The restaurant is very open and chic. Signature cocktails were tasty. We were served several amuse bouche--all were delicious, as were all courses and dessert! We tried a wide range of things from oysters to octopus to pork. The service was the best kind... Friendly and approachable but extremely attentive. A 'happy birthday' message was printed at the top of our menus--a nice touch, along with a birthday dessert. Highly recommend!

This was our first trip to C & S. I was very impressed with the setting. The dining room is very nice and wasn't too bright or dark. We chose the Chef's menu for dinner. It consisted of many courses of wonderful food. The cucumber prawn was amazing! They thought about every detail and made the entire meal great! The pancetta wrapped rabbit had great flavor. If you plan on having the Chef's menu, be warned; it is a LOT of food! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish. The portion size is very large and could probably be scaled back (I know, is this guy complaining about large portions?!?). Also, the savory courses are definitely that, they have great flavor! Try this place! I would definitely go back!

Don't just visit Colicchio & Sons for the wonderful food. You will not find better service ANYWHERE! Instead of one of the fabulous looking tasting menus offered, we opted to order an appetizer and an entree a la carte. Octopus and Tuna appetizers were excellent as were the fish entrees. Our three course meal actually turned out to be about 6 or 7 courses as the chef sent out several canapés, a pasta dish, and a plate of some yummy desserts. Although the dining room was fairly busy, we felt as if we were the only table. The staff is attentive as well as knowledgable and personable. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they greeted us with champagne and personalized menus. But don't wait for a special occasion to dine here!
