This restaurant is one of the top dining experiences I've had. The restaurant has extremely high ceilings and a lot of space between tables. There is no bad seat in the house. The food is phenomenal and flavorful without being overwhelming. We ordered the charred octopus and ended up ordering a second plate because it was so delicious. The pancetta-wrapped rabbit was one of the most ordered dishes- rightly so.

Everytime you propose something it will be great for some people, and for others maybe not so much, the best for me was dessert and the cheeses, there was nothing wrong with the food, it was just not my taste.

After some missteps early on in its existence, Colicchio & Sons has been consistently excellent over the past few years. A stunning and well-paced seasonal tasting menu, with thoughtful wine pairings, and a lovely parade of canapes to start. Truly great. Its reputation may be (rightly) mixed after past hiccups with service and consistency, but in my mind it's reached the very upper echelon of New York fine dining. Highly recommended.

Words cannot describe the feeling you have when dining here. All areas come together seamlessly. From the greeting upon arriving, to the top notch service, and then to the food...you just want to keep eating because everything you are served is the best is could possibly be. We leave smiling all the way home and then some. I can only encourage anyone who loves food and wants to spend a wonderful evening out, to make a reservation and dine at Colicchio & Sons.

Interesting and always perfectly seasoned food. No typical menu items. Beautiful presentation. Pretty dining room, always full but never noisy. Every waitstaff that comes to the table is friendly, polite and knowledgable. They bring 6 courses and you never had to ask for more water, another drink, a fork, an extra plate. You can just sit back and enjoy your company, the exceptional food and they take care of everything else!

My wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary and we were absolutely pleased with the food and especially the service we received at Colicchio and Sons. Best dining experience ever!! We never had to ask for anything because the servers were very attentive. I am big on service and I can tell this establishment is very well managed. Now for the food, we had the seasonal menu and the food being serve was excellent. I felt like I was a judge in an episode of Top Chef because for every dish served, the server described all the main ingredients. The presentation of the food is everything like you see in a Top Chef episode. This place was AWESOME!!

Three of us had the most delicious well served dinner we have had in a very long time. We were treated to four extra "tastes" in addition to the dishes we ordered. The attention to detail was amazing. My date had gone to the men's room as the main courses arrived: someone quickly ran over with a plate cover to keep his food warm. Our companion was a global executive who can't wait to bring his business associates to the restaurant. The restaurant design is also beautiful.

The food is very good, although not dramatically delicious. Still, it is a solid kitchen. The wine list is on a whole other level and one of the best in NYC. It is also priced reasonably considering the choice & quality. The staff is professional and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is both elegant and casual.

A party of 4 of us enjoyed a fabulous dining experience here this past Saturday night. Service was outstanding, wine was delightful (Brunello di Maltalcino) and food was delicius. Given that I am a nursing mother, I am concious of spicy foods and inquired about how spicy the appetizer of heirloom tomatoes, goats cheese and serrano chillies was. I was advised it was not spicy at all and that the chillies were sliced very thinly. Well wow what a punch in the palate i received upon first bite. It was amazingly spicy and sent me into a coughing fit. That said, our server and manager turned it around brilliantly by of course apologizing and then taking care of some desserts and dessert port for us. Greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back

This was our first time in the main dining room but not our last. The room is spacious and airy and the tables nicely spaced apart. The service may have been among the best we have ever experienced - warm, friendly, yet professional and not intrusive. The food was creative and delicious. Everything is geared towards the senses - the look, the smell, the taste of the plates. In addition they offer several amuse bouche throughout the meal which are a surprise and delicious. Talk about perfect bites. It should be mentioned that the portions are quite modest and this is not a place to go if very hungry. Considering the cost, some would take exception to the small portion sizes.

For the price, there are many better options in NYC for fine dining. The portions were extremely small and nothing that we ate on the 4 course tasting menu stuck out. However, the restaurant does an EXCELLENT job with dietary requests. I asked for no butter in my dishes and they even gave me another bread option that had no butter. I was very impressed with how careful they were with my request and I was only trying to watch my weight.

I came here on Wednesday for my birthday dinner with my best friend. I just asked for the best table because Ive heard great things about the restaurant. THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND! the manager seated me at the best table and when my friend arrived, gave us the menu and to my surprise it said "Happy Birthday Michelle!" on it! and everyone wished me a happy birthday & the manager came up to speak to us at the table later on. We got the four course tasting menu a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. did not leave a morsel on my plate. Nor was any glass ever empty because they were extremely prompt on service. I had such a great birthday. thank you to the staff!

I selected Colicchio & Sons for a very special occasion, as it was the restaurant where I asked my girlfriend to marry me. Colicchio treated us with extreme attention and kindness! Service was supreme, we were assigned to a nice corner table. The Ambiance is formidable. All the staff is very well trained. The meal, a 5-steps menu, was very exquisite, and the wines that paired also formidable. In addition, the restaurant greeted us for our engagement with a few extras, as a special hand-made pastry and a pair of muffins to take home and eat at the breakfast. That night was unforgivable, and I want to thank everyone at Colicchio for they making it perfect.

Great amateurs of fine food, my wife and I had reserved a restaurant for each night of my stay in NYC. This one, Collicchio & Sons, came as the big disappointment of our stay. Nice interior design and that's it. Way too expensive for the quality of the food and wine. We had dinner the day before at Daniel and the same wines are at lower price there. The white wine was served warm. The appetizers were tasteless and my monk fish completely undercooked. I could barely eat half and the waiter did not even ask for feedback on the course. We left with the impression to have paid way too much for a tourist trap. There are many great options in NYC, I recommend you avoid this one.

My son got engaged so we took them to dinner and a play. I had booked through open table and made mention of the celebration. We sat down to dinner and the menu had a title congratulating them. From there it went uphill. I cannot tell you how exceptional the food and it's presentation, wine list, service and ambience were. The four of us tried everything, I think. Everything was fabulous. My husband and I have been to the top ranked restaurants in the city. I vote this #1

We had the seven course Chef's Table. As foodies, we were very excited about the meal. However, it was a little disappointing. I will admit to being particular and hard to please, but this was not as good as billed or expected. The first course and the meat course were exceptional. The other courses were very average. Bottom line, the seven courses and the wine pairings were over $600 with tip. If the food would have been exceptional, then I would not be complaining. Not likely to get me as a return customer.

I enjoyed the setting and service at Colicchio & Sons but was slightly disappointed by the food. All of it was quite delicious but at the level this restaurant operates, they need to do better. The chef's creations were good but ingredients were often reused (overused) across courses and it fell short of the $95 price tag that accompanied it. If you're on an expense account and want a great place to go for some "good" food and drinks, this is a good choice. If you're looking for that ultimate food experience, keep looking...

The waiter who took our drink order forgot who he had started with and thus neglected to ask two in our party if they would like something. When I then asked for a drink after the others were delivered, I asked for a negroni, which he didn't seem to be familiar with. I asked which kinds of gin they had and he said "Hennessey", which is not a gin....I finally gave up after trying to get the information from him and just told him I'd like Hendricks (perhaps that's what he meant when he said Hennessey?) but either way he was clearly unfamiliar with the options. At $200+/person, this kind of service is inexcusable.
