Well they went beyond that by printing a special menu with the date and a congratulatory for our 2nd anniversary, it went a huge way for wifey and the reaction on her face was priceless. The service was great and attentive, they provided a lot of samplings for food and the main meal was excellent. There was no rush as we spent almost over 2 hours. My wife, my daughter and I had an opportunity to eat dinner at Colicchio & Sons. The service was fantastic starting with our drinks at the bar, thanks to Bennett. He made my wife a drink that she loved and he jotted down the recipe for us. The food was a cross between Babbo's and the French Laundry in terms of portion sizes and creativity. I got wine pairings to go along with the meal and they were exceptional. Molly followed up with recommendations for desert that were spot on and delicious. You owe it to yourself to eat here at least once in a lifetime. We ordered the four course dinner. There were two different choices so I ordered one and my husband ordered the other. We tried eight dishes.I have so say nothing we ordered was taste transcending. Infract the sausage rabbit was pretty much left uneaten after one bite. The beef cheeks were grisly that I let my husband finish those. There was a pasta that was swimming I so much oil that I stopped too after two bites. Even the desserts were just average.In all, it is high quality food - but if you are going to spend $300 for two people to eat- trust me there is better food for the money. The ambiance was contemporary and romantic with lots of room between tables. The food was excellent, artfully placed on the plate and so-o good. There was definitely a top chef behind these interesting combinations and tastes. We had the 4-course meal and chose our own wine. Probably the best part was the service. So many people there to present the food and provide answers if needed. There were not too many servers, but enough that we felt welcomed and doted upon. I was just thrilled to have this NYC experience. I'm sure that you will enjoy your evening! A real find next to the interesting Chelsea Market and the High Line. Having mentioned on Open Table that it was our anniversary (so as not to get a poor table), the restaurant went out of its way to celebrate with us, including a shout out in their daily menu. The staff was extremely attentive and the courses came in just the right amount of time -- neither rushed nor delayed. With the chef's openers and our tastings menu (happily adjusted for one dietary restriction) we had a total of 10 courses -- and were sent home with muffins for the next morning. Each dish perfectly melded complex flavors. Wine pairings were mostly spot on. Service was excellent, for example providing detailed descriptions of each wine paired with our four-course dinner (place, flavor profile, why it was chosen for that dish). And the space is gorgeous; very high ceilings and windows made the space feel enormous, and tables were far apart for a Manhattan restaurant so the noise level was great and it didn't feel like we were eavesdropping on our neighbor's conversation.
