Cole's Greenwich VillageIts terrific, worth a stop inEverything about Cole's exceeded my expectations, not easily done after so many years living in NYC. The staff was very attentive, gave us a terrific table and the whole experience was a pleasure. Food was a home run the entire time. My sister is a vegetarian and there were many options, plus the waiter was very flexible to make sure she was happy. We did go on the early side and it fills up very fast and it gets a nice buzzy energy going, but its not too much of a scene, which I no longer am interested in. Its just a lively restaurant for people that enjoy good food and drink and want to kick back for a bit. The service was very good and the steak was fabulous. So far so good. At this point I would definitely recommend them. I live in the neighborhood and am happy to find a new place that's so good. Service was pleasant and efficient. The side dishes were particular good and interesting. It's got great light and luxe feeling booths (my favorite!) with the feel of an expensive restaurant but it won't break your bank. Perfect for a date, girls night, or a place to bring your parents.

I had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and crispy on the edges; however, the swiss chard underneath it was bland and the great northern beans were considerably under-done. The service was excellent; our server couldn't have done anything better. I think he refilled my water glass every single time I took a sip (but not in an annoying way). The decor and overall feel were great, but the tables were way too close together. They're clearly trying to maximize the revenue by squeezing as many people in the restaurant as possible, but it just wasn't comfortable.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AM
