The open ceilings gave it a unique look and feel, giving the somewhat formal restaurant a more relaxed feel. The service was fantastic - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The menu was great! Excellent choices and portion sizes that matched the prices. We have a favorite steak restaurant at home, where we are very used to receiving excellent, personal customer service. No surprises -- good steaks, sides, wine list, etc. The atmosphere will never be confused with Ruth's Chris -- it's in a hipper, retro older style building. My preference in steakhouses is to bring all steaks out on a sizzler or very hot inner plate. But the entire time we were waiting around for our "reserved" table, the lady at the front treated us like we were nothing. No apology that the table was not ready, no communication as to what was going on. We finally felt like we were valued guests when a gentleman in the suit came over to our table to thank us for our patience. The waiter was great with description of all of the specials. The way he talks about each dish / food was mouth watering and made us want to order one of each... Our party of six arrved about 15 minutes early for our reservation and were seated at a table on the upstairs balcony overlooking the main dining floor within a couple of minutes of arrival. The atmosphere is casual yet classy, and the restaurant itself is actually quite large. The wait staff was courteous and attentive, but the real stars of the show were the wondeful smells emanting from the open kitchen downstairs (along with the food that followed). We started with shrimp coktail for all six of us, and the preparation (just lightly charred and seasoned) was superb. The service was timely but not overpowering. The house wines were superior. We will return next time we are in Napa....I presently reside in Texas and my brother and sister reside in Wyoming. Service was great and excellent with the kids, wouldn't take toddlers but just fine for older kids. The service was impeccable and the food -- truly amazing. My dry aged ribeye was bursting with flavor and every other person at our table of 6 thought that their entree was the best! This time we brought friends from another state (on their first trip to Napa)... raving for weeks before about the pork chop and hashbrowns. The pork chop delivered on quality and taste, but we were VERY disappointed to hear that you were out of hashbrowns, given that we had told our friends so much about it and do not know when we will be in the area again. I feel that the hashbrowns are a Cole's staple, so being 'out' of them was a huge let-down.
