  • "Awesome awesome awesome all the way around. Be wary of the new York steak as, while it was amazing toe the flavors and the taste in how it's prepared, it does have a gamey kind of taste. My wife ordered ordered the filet, which was in my opinion even better better and had none of of the gamey flavor. However, I liked it but it's not for everyone. Awesome experience all the way way around."

  • "My wife and I had reservations at Cole's while we were in Napa for a few days. The food was excellent, but the service was exceptional. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, but his assistant was extraordinary. This man was everywhere. He was clearing tables, filling water glasses, changing table linens, checking on everyone. I was incredibly impressed by his attention to detail and professionalism. I have never seen anyone so engaged in his work. You could tell he was proud of what he was doing. Our experience was excellent and I would recommend Coles to anyone. We will definitely plan to return when we are back in the Napa Valley."

  • "You can get a great steak anywhere is what I thought and almost did not book here. That would have been a mistake. Not only was the filet one of the best I have ever enjoyed, the entire dining experience was exceptional. Our waiter was on point and made our evening special. The wine list is impressive and yet reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant. Great for a romantic evening or for a group dinner."

  • "Extremely friendly atmosphere! We were greeted by the mgr Eric shortly after being seated. His staff was exceptional as well- very attentive, knowledgeable and we had top notch service from beginning to end. Food was superb! Everything was done to perfection! I had the 7 oz filet and my husband had the New York . We shared the lobster & shrimp bisque, sautéed sweet corn, hash browns, mushrooms & creme brûlée & that worked out perfectly! My husband loves great scotch and Eric put together a customized sampling of whiskey that he thoroughly enjoyed! Fabulous dining experience & we will definitely return!"

  • "Wow. This was one of the best steaks we had ever tasted. Our group ordered 3 steaks and the center cut pork chop. "Pork Chop" missed out on the steak and has been moaning about it ever since. Also try the hash browns with onion. Our one "beef" was a snarky and sarcastic manager who made us wait 22 minutes for a table when we arrived a little early. Once seated - food and service were 5 stars so he cost them a star."

  • "We'd heard mixed opinions regarding the "Napability" of this unapologetically old school steak. We came in the first time, hung at the bar , and had a great experience with a first rate bartender (wish we could remember his name!!) We came in a few weeks later for dinner literally surrounded by tables celebrating about anything you could imagine, the gamut of guests ran from a preacher and wife from the midwest, to a table of folks from Jersey out for a good time, and back to a family from the Central Valley here to load up on the biggest baddest plates of meat in town. I hardly think any of them were disappointed -- seamless service paired with the biggest baddest plates of meat any carnivore could ask for. Who can't love that?"

  • "From start to finish, Cole's was top notch. My husband was thrilled with the Rye whisky tasting flight. Our salad was a perfect and light start to our meal. My husband's strip steak was cooked to perfection and my surf and turf special was the perfect portion. The hash browns were excellent- certainly enough to share. We topped dinner off with the creme brulee, which is my favorite! We will certainly be back next time we are in Napa."

I could have spent a week reading the wine and cocktail list. Great higher end offerings with great local values too. I would love to go back. Walking distance to all of downtown Napa."

  • "This was very disappointing. It was written comparable to Ruth Chris and is so far below in comparison. We told them it was for a birthday and it was not even recognized. The waiter barely communicated and was only readily available to take money. Four of our group ordered filets medium and they came well done, dry and hard to chew. One had chunks of fat. In giving us more bread they brought it in a napkin and dumped it on the bread server. Bad service and bad food. Big disappointment."

  • "Expected 'dressy' attire. Wasn't. Smart chic appropriate. Dark jeans ok. Outstanding service, very good food. Husband and I ordered same entree; husband LOVED his. Mine, overcooked - my fault. Lobster-infused mashed potatoes were wonderful, as was vanilla bean creme brûlée and coffee. Crab cocktail (appetizer) worth a mention. Manager's (?) table visits appeared calculated, based on table total $$ or wine selections? Appeared uptight, with frequent scowls and hovering around specific tables. A brief visit to each table would've created a welcoming dining experience. Example: while adding ice to my husband's glass, MGR could've asked if we enjoyed our meal. Instead, he said nothing, walking away abruptly. Fortunately, staff on point!"

  • "I took my, new, fiance to Cole's because she wanted sea food and I wanted steak. We live in Chicago and have been to several amazing steak houses in our time, however, Cole's steakhouse was a cut above the rest. (pun intended) We just got engaged the evening before and we felt as if everyone knew about it; we were greeted with a congratulations at the door and a red rose for her, we were approached by two different managers and had delightful conversations with both. Everyone was incredible nice and sincere. The food we had was incredible. The steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. Her halibut was the ' best she's ever had'. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go here and enjoy the food an ambiance. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

  • "I went to the Chop House on a Sunday night. The place was busy, but the staff took it all in stride. I went there for a Chop experience, but the special included a surf and turf option so I went that direction instead. My date had the chops which were absolutely delicious. I had the filet done medium rare and a nice sized lobster tail. Both were cooked to perfection and so was the garlic mashed potatoes as a side order. Both the waiter and bus boy were attentive and very extreamly helpful. Overall, I truly enjoyed the food and dining experience. I will eat there again for sure."

  • "I am not much of a meat eater but shared a rib-eye with my friend - it was delish and just the right amount. Server very willing to split orders, which was appreciated. Disappointed in the potatoes this time as they were not very hot nor were they as crunchy. Oysters Rockefeller and bibb salad were incred. Dessert standard. Overall we all (4)loved it. It is expensive so can only go fore special occasions. Service very good - just wish they would not have been so eager to pour the wine- it kinda felt like an interruption. They were very busy but never missed a beat."

  • "Great meat, I just wish they had a dry aged ribeye on the menu... I love dry aged meat and you have to get the Porterhouse or New York to accomplish that at Coles... It is a fantastic restaurant and we had an awesome meal... The sides were delicious and they alway knock the hash browns out of the park... All in all, another great meal at Coles Napa!"

  • "If you're looking for a steak dinner in Napa, this is probably your best bet. Service is great, and the wine list is extensive (corkage for your own bottle is $25). We're from Chicago (and our steaks were too) and I think we may be spoiled when it comes to steak restaurants, so it wasn't the best steak we've ever had, but it was a good experience overall."
