A word from Cola's Restaurant
Located in a lovingly restored 1930's RC Cola bottling plant, Cola's is a "casual" fine dining bar/restaurant specializing in seafood, steaks and other culinary creations influenced by a broad range of ethnic cooking. There is an emphasis on fresh ingredients and locally grown food where possible.
Weather permitting, two garage doors open up the restaurant to views of the Statehouse and allow our guests to enjoy the bustle of downtown Columbia. Cola's boast a 40 foot long bar, equipped with a rolling ladder to access our extensive wine selection. If preferred, try one of our house cocktails or choose a brew from our large selection of bottled beers.
Cola's has ample room to host your private functions in either of the two private dining rooms, seating up to as many as 50. Large booths adorn the main dining room and there is table seating for small and large parties.

  • "...the service was slow and spotty, the food was overpriced. Ordered drinks that took over 15 minutes to be served. Two were wine, three were mojitos. The restaurant was only 1/3 full. An entree of two crab cakes over a bed of greens was twenty-six dollars. Ridiculous. "

  • "We went with a group of 6,aside from 1person, the rest of us enjoyed our food. The half chicken served was very over cooked and small. My seared Tuna was AMAZING!"

  • "My only issue was they had no record of the reservation when we arrived. I had left the printed copy in my car. They said I had probably got my dates mixed up, that was not the case and based on receiving your survey it appears you had the reservation the same as me. Good news our reservation was 6 o'clock and they were able to get us a table. Randy"

  • "We were celebrating our anniversary and had a late evening meal planned. The food was well prepared and tasted awesome. My wife is very picky and she was very satisfied. They allowed us to split dishes with no extra charge so which is great so we had appetizers and desert. Very satisfied with our experience."

  • "We love trying new places and on this trip to Columbia we picked COLA'S, in short our next pick will not be up to chance. Everything was excellent from the greeting to departure. The service was excellent, our waitress Marybeth was spot, her advice was perfect and welcome. We had the Seared Flounder and the Tempura Fried Lobster, both were amazing, I have had fried Lobster a few times in the past but never like this, the presentation and taste was perfect and I devoured both tails, the rice and stir fried veggies. My other half loved her seared, scored flounder, this is her go to dish and she loved hers. In all it was a great experience and we will be back, we will find a reason to get back to COLA...."

  • "when ordering a medium cooked steak be sure to ask what their definition of Medium is as the steak my son ordered came out medium rare as opposed to medium. Steak was sent back and came back in the same condition. Medium Rare. Other entrees were great and the last steak we had was cooked to perfection. Very disappointed in that portion of our dinner."

  • "I had the pan seared mahi mahi. It was hands down the best I have ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly and had a beautiful light lemon caper sauce. Served with sweet potato hash and fresh green beans perfect !!! I'll be back :)"

  • "Cola's has quickly become one of our absolute favorite spots to dine in Columbia. The braised short rib is one of the best meals in town! Great Hendricks cucumber martini, and amazing salads. Cola's is where we always take our out-of-town guests."

  • "Needed an early dinner before a show at the Koger Center and Cola's was perfect! Our server was friendly and efficient, the meal was very good, and the experience so cosmopolitan. We parked on Assembly, and walked to the Koger after dinner for the performance - just like being in New York! Location, atmosphere and food and service are all top notch!"

  • "Great find. We were going to the theatre after eating there and the waitress made sure we would get there on time. The food was very good. We sat by the open window and had beautiful johnny jump ups right next to us in the planters."

  • "My family and I ate birthday dinner at Cola's - we each enjoyed a variety of flavors. I ordered the salmon with barbecue and pear chutney, braised greens and creamy grits - ABSOLUTELY scrumptious. Our favorite dessert is the bread pudding with cream cheese icing - always delicious. Cola's is one of our favorites!!"

  • "The food was great and so was the ambiance. We all enjoyed our meals. Only negative I would say was the noise level. We were having a business dinner and found it a little noisy to discuss business. I would definitely go again for fun!"

  • "Crispy flounder was very good. Somewhat disappointed with the trout b/c the hash was not tasty this time like it was on our first visit. Seems like they left out the bacon. Pulled pork egg rolls pretty good - a little mushy for me. Crene brûlée was amazing and last time we had some great sorbets. Atmosphere is great with the open garage doors onto main st."

  • "Everything we ordered was so tasty! Started with the shrimp risotto appetizer. Had the black eyed pea and butternut squash salad. Mac and cheese was the best! Shrimp and grits very yummy! Crab cakes and fried green tomatoes were great as was the wagyu burger. Good portions and great service. We had a delicious chocolate brownie with coffee ice cream for dessert. So good! Strawberry lime sorbet was good too. We were very happy with everything!"

  • "I was underwhelmed by the food at Cola's on my first visit, but that, along with every other part of the experience, has steadily improved with each visit, to the point where the entrees are excellent. Their take on shrimp and grits is unbelievably delicious. Slightly less impressive were the desserts."

  • "This is my second time to Cola's and just like last time the appetizers and the dessert were very good but the entree failed to impress. For the price it really should be better."

  • "I had a reservation for myself and (4) work colleagues for Wednesday, January 29. My reservation was confirmed on Tuesday, January 28. When I arrived at the restaurant it was closed. I tried to call but only received the normal "We are currently not available". Now for the rest of the story - Columbia, SC had a snowfall on Tuesday night, which of course shuts the city down. By Wednesday afternoon all roads were dry. I'm sure this had something to do with the fact that the restaurant was not open. In my opinion though management should have reviewed any confirmed reservation and had a reply back that the restaurant was closed. They also should have had the voice message changed for that evening. We ended up eating at Gervais and Vine"

  • "Our meal at Cola's was perfect! The food was outstanding and the presentation beautiful. We ordered the chef's appertizer specials as well as the calamari salad and flounder. OMG. My mouth waters just thinking about the flavors. The service for us was top notch. I would highly recommend Cola's and plan to be back on my next trip to Columbia."

  • "We had another great meal here! It was our ladies supper club and we just about all got sour or salads and an appetizer versus a meal and it was just the right amount of food. The Bloody Mary Oysters were GREAT! Just the right amount of spice in the tomato salsa and the presentation is very appealing. We also had the oyster and corn chowder and that too is wonderful. All in all it was a great meal for everyone."

  • "The butternut squash and black eyed pea salad had almost tasteless romaine lettuce and the sweet squash and peas were in tiny pieces that did little to add flavor. Pork tenderloin and shrimp and grits were very good. The Colas veggie plate had great mushrooms and really good polenta sticks but almost tasteless spinach and a big sweet potato without any form of sauce or dressing. The scallops were good, but few in number considering the price. The service and ambience were fine. For a pricey restaurant (the bill was $156) the food was a mixed bag..."

  • "This was our first dining experience in Columbia, SC. It's a pretty place and the food was outstanding. Service was just fair. It took too long to get our food. It was more casual than I expected - lots of children running around, people dressed in jeans and t-shirts."

  • "My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant after I had multiple patients recommend we try it. We planned a romantic date night on a Saturday evening (9:30pm). Once we arrived, we realized this is no date night restaurant. It is great for a group of friends to go out and have great food/drinks. There's a loud, but friendly, atmosphere. Lights are dim but this is no romantic spot. Cola's was out of many items on the menu, which our waitress made us aware of before we ordered....until we were later told that our appetizer was also sold out. I ended up with the crusted trout and my boyfriend had the spice rubbed chicken; both which were pretty good. We will try this restaurant again, but with a group."

  • "Cola's is one of our favorite in town venues. Saturday night we learned that Cola's is now one of our favorite mid week in town favorites. We were welcomed with incredibly poor service and a noise level that was far beyond comfortable. After an hour and ten minute wait for our entrees, the manager came over to apologize. Needless to say we did not stay for after dinner drinks and desert. Although he food was quite good, it was obvious the kitchen and staff at Cola's cannot handle a full house with excellence."
