Located in a lovingly restored 1930's RC Cola bottling plant, Cola's is a "casual" fine dining bar/restaurant specializing in seafood, steaks and other culinary creations influenced by a broad range of ethnic cooking. There is an emphasis on fresh ingredients and locally grown food where possible.
Weather permitting, two garage doors open up the restaurant to views of the Statehouse and allow our guests to enjoy the bustle of downtown Columbia. Cola's boast a 40 foot long bar, equipped with a rolling ladder to access our extensive wine selection. If preferred, try one of our house cocktails or choose a brew from our large selection of bottled beers.
Cola's has ample room to host your private functions in either of the two private dining rooms, seating up to as many as 50. Large booths adorn the main dining room and there is table seating for small and large parties.

Diner Reviews
  • "I was in Columbia, SC for my son's freshman Orientation at the University and my husband has friends who recommended Cola's to us. Well, I can't tell you how pleased we were! The ambiance was beautiful, the server we had could not have been more accomodating and the food was amazing! Even the drink selection was extensive, creative and hip! We had Strawberry, lime mojitoes...killer. The BLT salad with the candied bacon was roll your eyes back delicious. For dinner, my two friends had the flash fried flounder...OMG is all I can say, and for the those who love a cream based sauce, I had the shrimp and grits...amazing! Loved it and will go again when I return!!! Got lots of opportunities now that my son is going to school there!"

  • "Possibly the best salad I've every had. The poached Pear salad was amazing!!!! First time for our entire party, we will be returning often....."

  • "I'm from Louisville Ky where there is an award winning chef on every corner....Colas must be surviving because of its downtown location and politicians spending someone else's money to OVERpay for mediocrity. I really don't mind a $120 meal when it's worth it...Colas is not. Loved almost everything about it....a fantastic margarita, wine list and atmosphere. My son ordered an 8 oz filet that was supposed to be medium...but it was rare. My daughter's spice rubbed chicken appeared to have been from a quail instead, it was dry and over seasoned. I ordered shrimp and grits, they had a wonderful flavor but they were skimpy with the sauce. The garnish of lightly fried green onions was unnecessary and should be dropped...a disappointing meal!"

  • "As we were dining on a holiday the restaurant was not crowded, and we had excellent service. The poached pear salad was different and delicious. I truly enjoyed a humongous thick pork chop that had a tasty crust, milanese style. My wife had the special swordfish, which she raved about. We also liked the ability to bring our own wine with a reasonable corkage fee. The server was very friendly and helpful."

  • "Restaurant was nice. Food was nice and a good value for an upscale place in Columbia. Nice bar and wine list. I enjoyed the experience and will be back!"

  • "Everything about this restaurant is top notch! Very cool renovated brick building-very classy inside. A bit loud but you soon forget about it when the fabulous meal arrives! By far the best meal I have ever had in Columbia and I've lived here all my life. Can't wait to go back!"

  • "Cool building and they have their own parking lot. Server was friendly and knowledgable. Food service was a little slow but as long as you aren't in a hurry and have something to talk about with your date you'll be fine. Food was very good! We sat next to a group of 6 women who were have a lot of fun so it got a bit loud but watcha gonna do? The best part...they made the best margarita I've ever had and margaritas are my thing!"

  • "The first time we ate at Colas was in March 2014 and we found it great. Service and food were excellent We returned in June and were a little disappointed. The service was good but the food did not measure up to the first visit. Different chef maybe?"

  • "My wife and I celebrated a wedding anniversary by dining at Cola's. We agreed it was the best meal ever -- cocktail, salad, entree, and dessert. And the service was first-rate."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "I heard great things about Cola's. We had two fish specials on a Wednesday night. One was good, the other was fair. Service was slow because the place was busy. Not really worth the price."

  • "The noise level was a little high. The crab cakes were room temperature, bland, and had pieces of shell in them; the fried green tomatoes were good. BUT, the Dirty Martini and Vodka Gimlet were the best ever! Would return for them alone, and try a different menu item."

  • "This was our first visit to Cola's and our experience was outstanding. We could see that the server was working hard and fast but she never missed a beat and was timely in ever instance. The food was superb and the sauces were remarkable. The desserts? What?! The very best. (Try the coffee ice cream) I generally never talk to my co-workers about my restaurant experiences but I did this time. I've eaten a lot of things in a lot of places all over the world and this was the best food experience I recall ever having."

  • "The environment at Cola's is great! I have been there with family including grands and they all just enjoyed their meals as well. My youngest grand loves the salmon and of course, my meal was the huge flounder meal. The atmosphere is just pleasingly wonderful and we enjoyed every minute of our time there. What a wonderful way to celebrate each other with good food! The dessert called The Basket is just phenomenal. It is enough for two or three to share and we did just that. I hope to go again real soon."

  • "This restaurant was fabulous! The chicken Milanese was amazing, as was the strawberry mojoto. The almond berry dessert was one of the best desserts I have had in ages. I cannot wait fort daughter to start USC this Fall because this will be our favorite restaurant for sure. I will eat here every time we come for a visit."

  • "Had a great evening. Showed up a little early, they offered us a table then but we sat at the bar to enjoy a drink and check out the bar scene. After that went back to be seated and still got seated early. Staff, service food, everything was excellent."

  • "For Father's Day, our children surprised their dad by coming to Sc. I made reservations for 6 in advance for Colas for a nice meal. In the reservation comments on Open Table, I let the resturant know it was 5 adults and a baby (6 mos) When we arrived, they had us at a booth and at no high chairs available. They only had 2 for the whole restuarant and those were taken by a family with children that could have been in booster seats. They did very little to help with the situation therefore we held our baby throughout our dining experience. This definitely put a damper on the mood of our table and we rushed through our dinner. My suggestion is that they buy more high chairs or maybe they just don't want babies in their resturant."

  • "This is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbia after have only gone twice. They have great sized portions and the pricing is reasonable. If you end up going you should definitely try the mac and cheese and save room for the glorious creme brule dessert!"

  • "The food was excellent. Service very good, a little slow. I would have given it 5 stars except for the noise level. We were 4 at a table and it was hard to have a conversation. This was not our first time to dine there and we will certainly go again soon. "

  • "Interesting menu when searching on-line, but failed to dazzle in real life. First of all, it's a nice spacious setting and restaurant. The owners haven't tried to cram every inch of space with tables. We ordered three appetisers, the calamari, the fried oysters and the coconut shrimp. The former and the later had been previously frozen, the oysters were fresh, however the thick batter ruined any taste of the oyster. Both mains of BBQ glazed salmon and seared scallops were severely both over cooked, the scallops in particular we're not edible and the manager did apologise and offer a re-cook or something different, both of which were declined. chocolate brownie and coffee ice cream to finish only to find the coffee was vanilla. "

  • "Try the pulled pork egg rolls, they are incredible. Also had the shrimp and grits, short ribs, filet and tuna special. Everything was delicious. Only disappointing thing was the oyster shooter, way too salty. All other cocktails were great. "

  • "We asked to change tables but the hostess Caroline just left us standing there and never came back to seat us instead she started to take calls without once ever getting back with us. After about seven to ten minutes someone else came to assist us. We understand that things get busy but there was no excuse for her not saying "one moment please" or "I will be right back with you." The waitress was also a little out of touch, she kept walking away before we could finish a sentence which ended up causing her to do several trips back and forth. "

  • "The first time my husband and I came to Cola's both the noise level and the food were unpleasant. We haven’t been back in over a year until now. This second time around we came with our whole family, who are very picky eaters, and to our surprise everything turned out wonderful. The noise level had been addressed by fabric-covered panels placed on the ceiling and is now similar to that of any other bar in the vista. The atmosphere to me is business casual and the large garage doors in the front were open which added to the nice ambiance. The food was delicious – The crispy flounder and the tempura fried lobster tails were amazing; and the service excellent. We will definitely be back again."

  • "This was our fourth or fifth visit to this restaurant and everytime we've dined here our experience has been positive. We typically come with a small group to 6-8 people."
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "I have been there several times with 5 or more people and was easily accommodated and the food is great. The booth seats are exceptionally comfortable. Depending on where you are seated, noise can be a problem on a busy night, but that's my only complaint."

  • "The food was good and the service was great. This was a business dinner and all four of our dishes were excellent; we go the salmon, ribs, steak and another fish special. I would prefer some red or white potatoes. The prices were reasonable as well."

  • "I travel to Columbia frequently and have eaten at Cola's several times with both small and larger groups. Every experience has been outstanding. Just the general vibe of the place makes you want to come back. The food and service are always top notch."

  • "Food was disappointing. Salad was drenched in dressing, short ribs were chewy and dry. My entire entree was too salty as was my husband's. They opened up the windows so the outdoor dining feel was great, server was excellent, and the place was packed. Columbia lacks in great dining experiences. This could be one of the best if they put more attention into their food. "
