A word from Cola's Restaurant
Located in a lovingly restored 1930's RC Cola bottling plant, Cola's is a "casual" fine dining bar/restaurant specializing in seafood, steaks and other culinary creations influenced by a broad range of ethnic cooking. There is an emphasis on fresh ingredients and locally grown food where possible.
Weather permitting, two garage doors open up the restaurant to views of the Statehouse and allow our guests to enjoy the bustle of downtown Columbia. Cola's boast a 40 foot long bar, equipped with a rolling ladder to access our extensive wine selection. If preferred, try one of our house cocktails or choose a brew from our large selection of bottled beers.
Cola's has ample room to host your private functions in either of the two private dining rooms, seating up to as many as 50. Large booths adorn the main dining room and there is table seating for small and large parties.

I've been to Cola's many times. Always delicious and the service was great. This past time I was disappointed. My appetizer seemed bland and the flavors were not matched well. My entree felt as it was from a chain restaurant. The portions were far too large for one person and perhaps I should have substituted the side that came with the dish. My server was great and the atmosphere is always perfect. Hope it was just a bad night. Will of course give them another shot.

My wife and I went to Cola's for our anniversary. The food was very tasty, and came in fair-sized portions. Our server went out of her way to make sure that everything was to our liking. My only gripe was that we had to wait a bit before our table was ready despite reservations, but even then the waiting was minimal. Overall great experience that I would reccomend to a friend.

My husband and I dined at Cola's for a date night and it was perfect! Our server was Lily and she was great! Attentive to our needs, but not overly attentive. We started with the pulled pork egg rolls which were delicious. My husband and I both had the ribeye steak special which was superb. I will definitely recommend Cola's to my friends and will return there myself. Overall we had a great experience.

This was my third time and first time taking clients. The atmosphere was really loud and the server had to repeat the specials several times. Overall, the food was good but, as I do not eat sea food, i ordered the NY Strip well done - brown throughout. What I got was very pink and red inside and had to send it back....although it was still pink inside, I ate it as not to hold up my clients who had finished their Dinner. Very disappointed because this happened the last time we were there but the first time was just right. May go back again but if they miss it again, that will be it.

Appetizers, main course, deserts, service excellent. It took almost 3 hours to eat because of large parties being served. The manager apologized over and over and gave us a lot of food and deserts for free. We did not ask for or complain. If we were on a schedule it would have been a problem, but we were not. The dinner was great.

This was our first, but certainly not our last, visit to Cola's. We tried small plates so we could appreciate a variety of interesting foods. The sesame asparagus was a surprise treat with an excellent sauce; the fried oysters in Bloody Mary relish captured the texture of the oysters and the brightness of the bloody mary flavor. We split a fried green tomato salad that was very flavorful, with good size tomatoes and excellent bacon. These fried foods were not greasy; rather the frying provided a crust of flavor and crunch on foods that were not overcooked. Also, one of the best Manhattans I have ever had (spicy and strong) and good wine list. Finally, we appreciated the quiet room with clear attempts to curb noise in an old building.

The restaurant is beautiful. I would like to visit during the warmer months because they have garage doors that roll up to enjoy the outdoors. There were 6 in our group. The booth we were in was very roomy. The server was top-notch and had great recommendations. We had an appetizer of fried oysters with bloody mary sauce and rib eye steak encrusted with blue cheese for the entré that was one of the specials for the night. Absolutely delicious! The manager came over to meet us and was so pleasant. We will definitely visit this restaurant again and highly recommend it.

Cola's is a great Columbia restaurant. Beyond the quality of the food, solid wine list, and fun/hip atmosphere, what I really appreciate is the portion size. Cola's hits the sweet spot of high quality, trendy food that foodies will love, but without the tiny portions that often accompany these types of establishments. You won't leave there hungry. The only downsides - which aren't deal breakers in the least - are that it's a loud restaurant and definitely pricey, though you get a lot for your money. Cola's is definitely one of our favorite downtown restaurants.

I have been to Cola's before for happy hour and the bar. Always enjoy the wine list and the menu is perfect, compliments to the chef. On this particular occasion I needed a more quiet space for my company who just had surgery. To my request the staff made it happen and it worked out wonderfully despite the busy weekend. Never disappointed by the food or wine.

My husband ordered a steak, and although the kitchen did mistakenly cook a filet mignon instead of the NY strip, the cook was perfect and the wait staff more than made up for the error by bringing an unexpected and delicious dessert. I had the scallops with truffle hollandaise sauce and the scallops were cooked beautifully. I would definitely go to this restaurant again for a fine dining experience!

Cola's dishes are very well-prepared and use a wonderful combination of spices and ingredients to take Southern cuisine to a higher ground. However, the use of butter, a Southern favorite, overpowers many of the dishes which could easily stand on their own accord given the wonderful ingredients. Furthermore, the butter permeates all of the dishes, creating a monotonous taste. The service is great, the dishes are interesting, and the "garage door" windows that open to the street create a fabulous atmosphere of al fresco dining.

Wow, what a find! From the moment we pulled up to find ample parking to the very end when our waitress carried the flowers I bought for my girl friend out to our car, we were impressed. I had asked for a table in a quiet location and received without a doubt the quietest table in the restaurant. We were met by smiling faces, well dressed women with positive attitudes. We were escorted to our table and introduced to our waitress. Our waitress turned out to be full of life, intelligent and well versed in the menu. She, as did others knew when to come to the table and when not to. They used words like, thank you, excuse me, and your welcome. The food was fabulous and presented perfectly. The wine list was sufficient. Dessert was great!

We started our night at the bar and were the only ones there. Bar staff was slow to engage with us especially on a slow night with all the wait staff hanging around the bar. Mojito was all ice in a short glass and $9. Went to our table and after a bit of a wait for a server the dinner was great. Appetizers of Bloody Mary Fried Oysters and Shrimp Dumplings were great and Scored and Flash Fried Flounder was as good as what I get on Fla coast. Salmon with BBQ glaze and pear chutney served over grits for the wife and she loved it. Overall excellent food quality and presentation. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable.

From the moment we settled in at the bar for pre-dinner drinks, to the end of the evening when the cake and champagne were cleared off, we were handled and fed very very well! Everyone on staff was knowledgeable, energetic, clearly (and justifiably) proud of their kitchen and the drinks offerings. Food was top-notch. We had a small family celebration and were seated in a very comfortable, slightly tucked-away booth that worked perfectly for the occasion: not a private room, but we felt just set off enough from the regular tables.
