CocotteFantastic for foodiesCozy, comfortable bistro with a small but fantastic menu for those who love food. Fitting wine list with all French and California wines, with the emphasis on French wines. Great dining experience!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely little Bistro tuckedLovely little Bistro tucked away on Hyde Street where Nob and Russian Hills meet. Very friendly and efficient service with the best rotisserie chicken I've eaten in a long time. A neighborhood gem for sure.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMReally great foodReally good french food - not overly "buttered/creamed", but allowing the tastes of the ingredients and their combinations speak for themselves.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA little piece of FranceWe were a party of six and everyone had a good time trying many different plates. The Scallops with the risotto, duck platter, and ribs with the fries were our favorites. It's a cute small French cafe with a open kitchen. Would like to try it again!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMNice energy and deliciousNice energy and delicious food. We felt like we had stopped into a bistro in Paris. We discovered Cocotte through Dine About Town and we are thrilled to know of this new "gem" in our neighborhood.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMCocotte was fantastic. MyCocotte was fantastic. My boyfriend said, "This is the only white meat chicken I actually want to eat!" The service was phenomenal, the entire menu explained, and questions answered thoroughly. The food was fantastic and was easily enjoyed. The prices are reasonable compared to the quality of food and service. I had a great time and can't wait to come back.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a winnerReminds me of a Paris bistro set on cozy Hyde Street. We totally enjoyed the lapin moutarde, moules, halibut with peas and roasted chicken, (which is available for take-out). There's even Beef Wellington on the menu. Friendly service, too.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed the evening. We really enjoyed the evening. Our waiter was such a character he contributed to a fun evening. We will be adding this restuarant to our list of favorites.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAn unexpected pleasure....countryAn unexpected pleasure....country French bistro with delightful staff, exquisite cuisine and wonderful ambience! A definite repeater!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic in every way. wonderfulfantastic in every way. wonderful food, ambiance and service4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is an undervalued restaurant. This is an undervalued restaurant. May just be some of the best food in San Francisco.
I won't go into detail, because Open Table rarely posts the reviews they request, but this place is one I will go back to time and again.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI enjoyed Cocotte. The serviceI enjoyed Cocotte. The service was spectacular and attentive but not oppressive. My dishes were great and it looked like everyone else was enjoying themselves. The restaurant is small and the noise level could get high if you have a few loud people but that was not the case on the evening I dined. I would definitely recommend and hope to come back when I visit San Francisco again.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a surprise to find thisWhat a surprise to find this gem! Just a fantastic evening with my husband. Food was delightfully surprisingly tasty. We enjoyed the chicken pate, coq au vin and scallops with squid ink pasta. My husband found the cocktails refreshing too. Kind of a rustic atmosphere, and quiet enough for us to hold a low conversation. All the other patrons seemed at ease and happy to be there. Truly a neighborhood treasure- no parking lot or valet. Easy enough to find parking though.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGood date place get this menu itemWent there on a third date and it was almost perfect. The waiter forgot our drinks and bread but the rest was great. I had the seared scallops with squid ink risotto and she had chicken. Both were great but get the scallops. We also picked a side of coliflower, also fantastic. The place itself is good for a date, just loud enough for your date to lean in to hear you but not to loud to ruin an evening.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food here is outstandingThe food here is outstanding - our whole group was thinking about it the next day. That and the fact that the duck entree was $19 instead of $28. The restaurant was crazy loud, ridiculously loud (how about hanging some curtains on the walls or something) between 8-9:30 on a Weds night. Parking is non existent (not at Pacific and Polk as the link suggested - really at Sacramento and Polk). Regardless, we'll be back.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chicken really is incredible. The chicken really is incredible. I've never had anything like it. The sides and sauces that go with the chicken are also really great. We enjoyed the service and good vibe.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful neighborhood restaurantWonderful neighborhood restaurant that I would characterize as understated French. The demographic is young, and older. Everyone goes there. We celebrated our twentieth anniversary there just because we have been going for years -- we started when we were dating and it's never failed to please.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Neighborhood FindGreat service. Fantastic food. Intimate, timeless meal.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent authentic FrenchAn excellent authentic French bistro meal with attentive, friendly service at a very reasonable price. I will definitely return.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were there on ValentinesWe were there on Valentines day and the menu was a pre fix.... Would have preferred a broader choice however the food was very good and the service was excellent. We will try this restaurant again.2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food; good service; goodGood food; good service; good value. Can you ask for much more?2/9/2013 12:00:00 AMI used to frequent this restaurantI used to frequent this restaurant in the past, under the former name "HS Bistro." It was charming then. Its renovation is now modern with subdued lighting. It's the same owners, chefs, and waiting staff, but there has been a slight change in its menu options. Although I miss the goat cheese salad (please bring it back!), the food is very good. The portion of my salad was huge, so plan on splitting this and another app with your party. I had the coq au vin and it was wonderful (and I cook this dish myself, so I know to some extent how to evaluate this dish). For a romantic night out or to impress an out-of-towner, take the cable car to this destination as a means to impress and show-off this city's romantic aura.2/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
