  • "Ambiance and service made our early dinner enjoyable in spite."

  • "we had a great and attentive waitress. I think her name was jean. the food was great. your sangria was out of this world!!. 4 glasses later, I still thought so. I liked the atmosphere and the building itself was beautiful."

  • "I've been to this place before.Always delighted to hear several good Colonial folksingers[Who look the part!]. And great Americans from that era[Last night it was George and Martha].Yes they also look the part. And know their history!.The Colonial-era food was very tasty.I had hot spiced wine,Jambalaya, and some good side dishes from that era.Not only educational for us adults-but for young children,as well. The only downside:Parking is tough when it's crowded. No problem parking 5 minutes away, but get your directionality straight in Peddler's Village!"

  • "We get to the C & B only once or twice a year. It is a destination spot for us since we have to travel 85 miles to get there. We have never been disappointed. The beef tips in a bread bowl are my favorite. Hubby had crab cakes - always wary - because he is VERY particular about crab cakes. He pronounced these the best he ever had. He also loves the creamed spinach. This time we stopped in the tavern for a drink before dinner. That was a nice experience too. Good drinks from a friendly bartender in an interesting setting."

  • "We were a;most pleased with our meal, but my baked potato was hard and my asparagus were burnt and hard, my fish was terrific. Never had a problem before maybe the chef was off."

  • "Servers are not so stellar. They do their job well, but not overly friendly. Approach seems to be like it would be at the post office and this has been each time of the 5 times we have dined there."

  • "The food was good, but it has been better in the past. Limited menu selections."

  • "Made reservations for dinner on our anniversary. Our server was Bernadette, she was wonderful. The food was good. We sat by the window and watched it snow. Very romantic."

  • "Consistent performer with better than average food. Wait staff is attentive and seamless. Wide variety in menu choices and the prices are set properly. If I had one complaint, this "old-timer" could use a little updating in atmosphere."

  • "I took my 13 year old son to the Colonial Night dinner on 2/10. Abraham Lincoln and Henry "Box" Brown were the historical figures on this evening. Both actors were fantastic both in the way they looked and acted. They answered all of his questions as well as offered up interesting tidbits of less known information. He was in heaven! The food offered was also amazing. The options were based on what would have been served in Colonial days. The servings were large enough that neither of us left hungry. We enjoyed our evening so much that we plan on returning in March for dinner with George and Martha Washington."

  • "LOVE coming to Cock 'n Bull and this time was no different! Loved the colonial menu, service is always superb, and the food is absolutely delicious."

  • "Went to this restaurant for our Anniversary because I have never tried it before. I had ordered a Craft beer which I've tried before and it was not good (bottle old). The Jambalaya was very dry and had no flavor to it and I would never have this here again. My Wife who had the fish said that hers was also very dry. I do a lot of cooking and I would say that they need to replace the chef at this place before I would ever go back! I feel I need to take my wife out again for our Anniversary after eating here!!!"

  • "Service and waitress was excellent. Food was so-so. Small menu. Definitely hard to find location when it is dark unless you are a local. Could use better signage"

  • "We went for a getaway to the Peddlers Village. This is the only place in the Village for a nice semi formal dinner. Good food, good wine selections, moderately priced (say a good class steak house pricing). Service was good. I would definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "Great time, great service, excellent cuisine. Looking forward to my next visit"

  • "Very disappointed, service less than professional, food cold. Definately a tourist trap. If you are expecting better than "Golden Corral", then this is the place."

  • "Line up the busses! This restaurant is efficient in getting the diners in and out. New Year's Eve was a very busy night but that didn't interfere with the service at this restaurant. The menu was limited and the food appeared to be prepped and ready to go. I ordered the duck which I had hoped would be moist and tender however it was over cooked and dry. My dining companion ordered the Queen Size prime rib. That appeared to look tasty but the large portion was overwhelming. Frozen peas, carrots and cauliflower completed the meal. Obviously they were moist and soggy. No fresh vegetable here. Desert was a disaster. The crème Brule was more like a chocolate mousse. Thankfully they took it back and off the bill."

  • "Was here for dinner 3 years ago on New Years Eve...should have learned my lesson then. Sad to say the experience New Years Eve in 2013 was same as it was then...Obvious their management wanted to pack as many sardines into the can that they could. While food and drinks were well overpriced, room to breathe was limited while sitting, and the constant flow of foot traffic took away any chances for conversation with your table companions. Food was good...but pricey. Drinks were priced fairly high..small glass of wine was $7. Glass of Yuengling was $4.95(but my 2 additional refills were not what I had ordered)."

  • "I was disappointed that we squeezed into a small area when there were plenty of open tables available/ I made reservations and arrived a few minutes early ."

  • "This was a special dinner with relatives from out of town. Service was super slow and there were not enough menu selections. We asked about french onion soup which we had in the past-the response is that they have it in Harts Tavern. (Shall I get up and walk over there") This is not the special venue that it used to be."

  • "The food was very good. Would recommend the calamari appetizer and their signature chicken pot pye. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere inviting. Service however, was a bit slow and not very friendly. Needed to ask for bread at table and refills on beverages."

  • "Went here the day after Christmas. Had a 7PM reservation and they seated us at 7:05. Waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. The baked Brie was delicious. My pot roast was very tender and my wife's fish n chips was delicious and the portion was huge."

  • "the food was pretty good but the menu was tiny. i ordered the special, which was crab with penne pasta, spinach, and alfredo sauce. it came topped with shrimp, which was fine with me but thank god i was not allergic because our wairtess never mentioned shrimp. i made a 4:30 reservation to avoid a big crowd, which i did....but no one told our waitress that. she was unfriendly and when she came to the table she was very abrupt and almost rude. you would have thought there was a line at the door. overall, good food but the menu left something to be desired and my service was personally awful."

  • "The food was ok but has been better in the past. They have reduced their menu and what remains had little taste. The decor at christmas was beautiful."

  • "This restaurant has great food and a nice atmosphere. We've been there numerous times, on bus trips and on family trips and just my husband and I, and we've never been disappointed. The servers are always pleasant. On our last trip on Thursday, December 12th, there were 7 of us. We were seated at 6:30 PM which was our reservation time and served beverages and warm bread. It took a little while before our orders were taken. Although they didn't seem busy, they might have been short-staffed, not sure, but we weren't served dinner until almost 8! The food was hot and delicious but we weren't very happy that it took so long for everything. We will give it another try in the Spring and see what happens."

  • "Went to Peddler's Village to do some Christmas shipping on Sunday. Plan was to shop then eat dinner. I requested a reservation for 7:30 PM days in advance, but the only opening was at 4:30. With the shops closing at 7 on Sunday, we would still have an hour to finish up. Drinks and appetizers came out fairly quick, but the main course took some time to get. Coffee and dessert were also slow. Forgotten items such as a knife or a spoon for dessert that further delayed service. In the end, we walked out the door nearly 3 hours later, at 7:23 PM and never did get to finish shopping. We did get a good look at the Gingerbread House exhibit, since there was no one else in the usually crowded exhibit. Ah, silver linings. Merry Christmas!"

  • "The food was fantastic and the wait staff extremely attentive. The only down side would be the wait to be seated even though there were reservations. The 2 women at the front desk when you arrive were alittle stand offish and seemed to take pleasure making everyone wait while there were open tables."

  • "s I put a request in For a table buy the window since we were bringing Our elderly parents. They called twice to confirm They said they would have a table by the window. We Were seated by the hostess and when I asked She said they could not but there were open Tables by the windows. I thougt since we were able To get our 90 year old parents out in the bad weather It would of been nice"

  • "Sitting at a table by the window on a beautiful snowy night with all the Christmas lights was breathtaking! The food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive! Changed our reservation from 6 pm to 4 pm because of the falling snow without a problem. Glad we did because we were able to witness the lights coming on one section at a time around the village, just amazing! Made reservations before reading reviews for our very first visit to the village and reconsidered after reading some negative reviews, so glad we didn't. Could not have been a nicer dining experience!"
