  • "Very nice atmosphere, good food and good service make this a nice place for a meal"

  • "Prime Rib special was superb. Waitress Jean could not have been more pleasant - must ask for her."

  • "I have been here before in June this was the lowest amount of food I have recd. Could have eaten 2 dinners. Stuffed flounder - very small piece of fish, decent amount of crab. My scallops were the bay scallops - it was hard to find them in the middle of the brie. Will not go back again."

  • "Tuesday night Prime Rib special with Salad bar. Salad bar was ok, but really nothing special at all. The Prime Rib was excellent, prepared exactly as we asked! The ambience was ok, but again nothing special (seemed a little out-dated over all, and the floor shook quite a bit whenever anyone walked by our table, which was really annoying!). We noticed several tables that went un-bussed for quite a long time, but eventually were done. Our server was very nice with just the right amount of attentiveness, and she even went as far as having our dessert cut in half and served on separate plates, after we asked to share a piece of their delicious chocolate peanut butter pie! (not necessary, but it was a very nice, and considerate, touch!)"

  • "Portions were fair. Was disappointed in the prime rib. Majorly lacking flavor and jus almost tasted canned or made from boullion rather tan pan drippings. The waitress would come to the table and ask if we were done with each course when clearly we were still eating th food on our plates- ans would say ok- take your time. Annoying really...if i werent for the very polite hostess and the great table by the window it would have been a definite F."

  • "Food was not quite as good as expected and the pie we ordered for dessert was equal to what you would expect from a grocery store pie. Loved the dining room decoration and the view we had of the shops was quite nice. Our server was good. She was attentive and very personable and worth the tip we left her. Overall I am not sure we would come back again for dinner. Maybe it was our choice of a main course."

  • "Party of seven went for Mother's day brunch - Had to wait to be seated even though we had a reservation. The food was a buffet style with choices for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Usually they have an omelet station but discontinued it for Mother's day due to crowd. Love the view of the spring flowers and shops out the window. Nice place to celebrate a special occasion. "

  • "The buffet is barely a step above cafeteria food. The noise and commotion of the dining area is as appealing as a bus station. A server at one food station had to be interrupted from texting on his cell phone."

  • "The restaurant was crowed of course since it was Mother's Day, but it was not unbearable and we were prompltly seated at our reservation time. The food was very good as was the service. Everyone enjoyed thier meals. "

  • "The resteraunt is really nicely done with historic rooms and decor. The Mother's Day brunch is an annual favorite and the service is always perfect. My only complaint is the reservation checkin process for the opening reservations. There were probably 20 large parties at 9:30 and they took our names and made us wait in the lobby. It looked a bit like a mob scene and when they began seating, calling names again, a lot of pushing and shoving ensued due to the amount of people standing nj the lobby. A 9:30 reservation wasn't sat till 9:40. A better process would have been to start seating groups at 9am and ask them to wait to get food. The servers could have been traffic control as there are plenty! They just need to be more organized."

  • "This place is a favorite among our family for brunch on special occasions. It is slightly pricey but the quality of food and service cannot be beat."

  • "Thank you to Ellen and Karen! Our dinner was wonderful! It has been a long time since we have had such excellent service as well as an outstanding meal. "

  • "I'm sorry to say I was quite disappointed with the brunch this year. Last year we had a wonderful time and even though the price went up $10, I was still anxious to go. It's a tradition in out family to have Easter Brunch together. However, the brunch wasn't as good as last year. There were a lot of things on the menu last year that were missing. There was something else missing beside certain foods. I can't put my finger on it, but it wasn't there. We had a great time last year. We had a big round table and we shared all our thought and memories. This year we were seated at a long table and interaction was missing. We travel from South Jersey to go here. I guess I'll look for another spot. "

  • "Easter Brunch was a little expensive at 34/pp regular Sunday Brunch is 23/pp. How can someone eat that much food? "
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "We have made this buffet an Easter tradition! Never disappointed "
    Dined on 4/20/2014
  • "We enjoyed the Easter Dinner, the food was great however I'm not a big fan of buffets in general. Everyone is always up and down and this made for a lot of noise and congestion. "

  • "we had a great and attentive waitress. I think her name was jean. the food was great. your sangria was out of this world!!. 4 glasses later, I still thought so. I liked the atmosphere and the building itself was beautiful."

  • "I've been to this place before.Always delighted to hear several good Colonial folksingers[Who look the part!]. And great Americans from that era[Last night it was George and Martha].Yes they also look the part. And know their history!.The Colonial-era food was very tasty.I had hot spiced wine,Jambalaya, and some good side dishes from that era.Not only educational for us adults-but for young children,as well. The only downside:Parking is tough when it's crowded. No problem parking 5 minutes away, but get your directionality straight in Peddler's Village!"

  • "We get to the C & B only once or twice a year. It is a destination spot for us since we have to travel 85 miles to get there. We have never been disappointed. The beef tips in a bread bowl are my favorite. Hubby had crab cakes - always wary - because he is VERY particular about crab cakes. He pronounced these the best he ever had. He also loves the creamed spinach. This time we stopped in the tavern for a drink before dinner. That was a nice experience too. Good drinks from a friendly bartender in an interesting setting."

  • "We were a;most pleased with our meal, but my baked potato was hard and my asparagus were burnt and hard, my fish was terrific. Never had a problem before maybe the chef was off."

  • "Servers are not so stellar. They do their job well, but not overly friendly. Approach seems to be like it would be at the post office and this has been each time of the 5 times we have dined there."

  • "The food was good, but it has been better in the past. Limited menu selections."

  • "Consistent performer with better than average food. Wait staff is attentive and seamless. Wide variety in menu choices and the prices are set properly. If I had one complaint, this "old-timer" could use a little updating in atmosphere."

  • "I took my 13 year old son to the Colonial Night dinner on 2/10. Abraham Lincoln and Henry "Box" Brown were the historical figures on this evening. Both actors were fantastic both in the way they looked and acted. They answered all of his questions as well as offered up interesting tidbits of less known information. He was in heaven! The food offered was also amazing. The options were based on what would have been served in Colonial days. The servings were large enough that neither of us left hungry. We enjoyed our evening so much that we plan on returning in March for dinner with George and Martha Washington."

  • "Went to this restaurant for our Anniversary because I have never tried it before. I had ordered a Craft beer which I've tried before and it was not good (bottle old). The Jambalaya was very dry and had no flavor to it and I would never have this here again. My Wife who had the fish said that hers was also very dry. I do a lot of cooking and I would say that they need to replace the chef at this place before I would ever go back! I feel I need to take my wife out again for our Anniversary after eating here!!!"

  • "Service and waitress was excellent. Food was so-so. Small menu. Definitely hard to find location when it is dark unless you are a local. Could use better signage"

  • "We went for a getaway to the Peddlers Village. This is the only place in the Village for a nice semi formal dinner. Good food, good wine selections, moderately priced (say a good class steak house pricing). Service was good. I would definitely return to this restaurant."

  • "Great time, great service, excellent cuisine. Looking forward to my next visit"

  • "Very disappointed, service less than professional, food cold. Definately a tourist trap. If you are expecting better than "Golden Corral", then this is the place."

  • "Line up the busses! This restaurant is efficient in getting the diners in and out. New Year's Eve was a very busy night but that didn't interfere with the service at this restaurant. The menu was limited and the food appeared to be prepped and ready to go. I ordered the duck which I had hoped would be moist and tender however it was over cooked and dry. My dining companion ordered the Queen Size prime rib. That appeared to look tasty but the large portion was overwhelming. Frozen peas, carrots and cauliflower completed the meal. Obviously they were moist and soggy. No fresh vegetable here. Desert was a disaster. The crème Brule was more like a chocolate mousse. Thankfully they took it back and off the bill."
