  • "Our group came for a late lunch on Sunday and we loved the food and the place. Thanks!"

  • "We absolutely love Barrio's - the food is always terrific & service great!"

  • "The food at Barrio was great! (As always!) The guac is always delicious and we didn't have anything we didn't truly enjoy. Their drink, Enter the Dragon, is really flavorful. I love the sweetness and the hint of spice that does follow. Our server was attentive and had great appetizer suggestions."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Service was attentive, non-obtrusive, friendly and helpful. Could not have been better. Food was yummy, Our party of six ordered 10 different small plates. Everyone found something they liked."

  • "Love the atmosphere. It reminded me of a place a good looking devil would hang out if he loved mexican food."
    Dined on 3/4/2014
  • "The service was outstanding. The food was fabulous. We tried many items. All good! It was cold though. If I went again in the Winter I would keep that in mind."

  • "Good fast food. Authentic and the burritos are awesome"

  • "I was so impressed with Barrio! They did a great job for a last minute reservation for my birthday! I will definitely be going back again :)"
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "The ambiance is all Spanish and they serve tapas but all of the food is Mexican. It's OK food, some tapas were good, others not. Some were priced fairly, others expensive."
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "Expensive...decent food but really loud and the tables for 2 are impossibly small since you have a billion platters. The heating AC is problematic, as we kept getting hit with cold bursts from the back doors despite being in the middle dining room. The staff was very helpful and made good recommendations. We eat out frequently so its unusual to have the wait staff rate so much higher than the facility."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "The overall experience was exceptional. Our waitress suggested several menu options and all lived up to the recommendation. We enjoyed the variety of selections on the menu as well as their presentation. This was a wonderful sample of Latin, Spanish and Mexican cuisine."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "It had food, it was pretty great latin inspired food. The tables were really close to together."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Overall this is a great place. My only complaint was that one of my entrees was not hot when served."
    Dined on 2/16/2014
  • "Best customer service I've ever had. Went above and beyond for our questions and requests."

  • "If you make reservations for two here you might as well make them for three and then say you had someone cancel at the last minute once you are sitting. If not, you run the risk of sitting literally on top of the person next to you. After I was seated (luckily it wasn't a date) the couple next to me (verbally annoyed they had to move their coats out of the seats) proceeded to talk about absurd topics at nothing less than a fog horn level decibel rating. Additionally, there were many open two person tables but I was put about 9 inches away from these people. Food was good, per usual. Next time I will try the '3' people on the reservation so I never have to suffer through that again."

  • "The front rooms wih the bar and booths have nice ambiance, but the back room was like a harshly lit bathroom with high intensity can lighting, unpleasant breeze from the heating system, and inattentive slow service. Like going to two different restaurants. I will never sit in the back room again, what are they thinking?"
    Dined on 2/7/2014
  • "Seated immediately, friendly efficient service, delicious food. A little loud for my taste but well worth another (and another) visit."

  • "I've been eating at barrio for 4 or more years now, since the opening of the Nicollet Mall location. They serve a fabulous tortilla soup. My favorite one to date. Fun drink mix - always good to try a few of them. They must only service the white sangria in the summer as they didn't have it in January. Great place. Give it a try!"

  • "I love going to Barrios! There food and drinks are always great! :)"
    Dined on 1/18/2014
  • "Barrio was great for six mom's who needed at "time out" from work and their kiddos. The staff was so wonderful, considering how each of us arrived at different time, required a cocktail immediately upon arrival, and was generally slow to make up their mind about what to eat. So yeah, we're a challenging crowd for servers to manage--but manage they did! (Putting us in the room in the back was nice too!) The best part? When we settled our tab, it turns out they already had separate checks ready for us. Amazing! THANK YOU!"

  • "Very romantic and intimate place, but also great food. Good happy hour too"
    Dined on 1/7/2014
  • "We stopped in for lunch having never been to Barrio before. Service was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Food was well presented and very good."
    Dined on 1/5/2014
  • "Once again Barrio exceeded all expectations! We had a group of 8, 6 of which had never been here. We had a fun large round booth towards the back that gave us plenty of room and ambience to socialize. We loved the smaller dishes to share as couples. The food was amazing, hot and creative! Thanks again Barrio!"

  • "Excellent small plates to share, nice margarita & beer selections, and a fun atmosphere...nice night out!"
    Dined on 12/14/2013
  • "Besides having to wear our coat and sunglasses while eating because they would not turn up the heat nor dim the lights for the evening, the food was good. However, our server could offer no help about anything from the wine list to the menu. When asked how things compared we kept getting "it's nice" as a description for everything. The only other description we would get, is that if one dish was a little more spicy than another. It was helpful that the food was good, but when looking for recommendations, the server was no help at all with either menu knowledge or attentiveness, which was contrary to most reviews I had read. I'm glad we tried it, but we won't be back based on service and ambiance."

  • "We had a variety of small plates that were all tasty. Will definitely be back."
    Dined on 11/29/2013
  • "Food was excellent with great variety. Margueritas were wonderful. Will definitely be back soon."
    Dined on 11/22/2013
  • "Enjoyed the pulled port sopes. The only downside to the experience was having to pay $8 for the chips and salsa which is complimentary anywhere else."
    Dined on 11/23/2013
  • "Terrific food, outstanding service, but the noise level was a little too high. A party of six, a round table, and I couldn't hear the people across from me."
    Dined on 11/22/2013
  • "What great service and a fun night out for 10 of us. We sat in the back room and had great tapas! We all shared everything and it was delicious!"
    Dined on 11/22/2013
  • "Went for Sunday Brunch and had a fantastic meal. Couldn't believe the place wasn't packed. The food was incredible. We'll be going back for dinner and drinks. Super bar area."
    Dined on 11/10/2013
  • "The food at Barrio was excellent but we waited for over 10 minutes before a waiter even came to our table - the building was not full just under staffed - once we got a waiter he was great - we had corn soup, mahi mahi taco, grilled shrimp skewers and chips and salsa - all excellent!!!"
    Dined on 11/9/2013
  • "We always enjoy Barrio. Drinks are good. Food is interesting and most things we've tried have been great (beef on a skewer is awesome). Have had some great service--were there for lunch the other day and they were willing to make us something from the dinner menu that we love. We keep coming back..."

  • "Good selection of Tequila and specialty Margaritas. We did not care for the food other then chips and Guacamole, small plates very expensive for what you get."

  • "First off, I must say we had good service. After a long day, my partner and I were looking forward to a nice quiet evening. When looking at the reviews about this restaurant ,I thought this was a good choice. Upon entering, noticed it to be very noisy and when seated , we were very very close to the party next to us.The table was too small after the bottle of wine, wine glasses, taco chips and salsa were added, there was not much room left and we had to keep moving things around to get access to our food.. Quite annoying. The food was okay, but the portions were very small and pricey for the portion. I doubt I will be back, unless it was with of group of friends for drinks and apps in a party mood."

  • "I was disapponited. Went at 6:00 PM on a Friday evening. Wife's meal came about 10 minutes before mine. I was told that when you order tapas, orders will not come out at the same time (??). Her food was cold when mine finally arrived. The food we received was "avergae" at best. I dine out about 10 x per week, and I am not rushing back to Barrio soon. All of the foods I tried were really "so-so"."

  • "Our party of four had Brunch at Cocina del Barrio on a Sunday. The server was very friendly and quick to take our order and offer suggestions. The food and drinks were all very good."

  • "Food was great, but a bit spicy for the usual midwestern palate. The waitress did warn us that a couple menu items were spicy, but usually when someone claims spicy in Minnesota it means it has flavor. A couple dishes were REALLY spicy. Overall great flavor to everything we ordered."

  • "Went to Sunday brunch at 1:30 pm- almost the only ones in the place! Got very prompt, attentive service from very personable server- wish I could remember his name- had been in the music business and his people skills showed. Food was prepared freshly for us, and they even made fresh churros for our birthday dessert, even though they had said they were out at first (spiced chocolate dipping sauce was so-o-o good!). Trio of salsas and chips was exceptional. Fresh guac is always good. Pork tacos were delicious as was the chicken enchilada. Only down side was the chorizo hash was a bit greasy. Too bad the Vikings are so bad this year or the place would have been hopping- flat screens had the game playing."

  • "My favorite Barrio is of course the original on Nicollet Ave, but this one in Edina has a very nice feel as well. The food, service, drinks, are all amazing. The place seems to be managed very well and run by well trained people. I enjoy myself everytime I visit."
