Diner Reviews
  • "Had a great dinner with friends. Celebrated a birthday, food and service were fantastic. Swirl Sangria Margaritas are a must have. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening."

  • "Service was lacking. The atmosphere was great, the food great. . . there were seven of us and we ordered a number of appetizers and then lunch. Everything was presented well and looked great. Everything I tried was great. Had the ceviche for lunch and it was excellent. The service was poor however. I ordered a glass of wine and after 15 minutes it still had not come. I was going to cancel it since the bill already came, but my host insisted I should receive it and ordered it again! The restaurant was not packed so the poor service could not be blamed on too many people. My water glass was filled only once - the rest of the lunch it sat empty. Its too bad since the food is great."

  • "The brisket tacos were great. The only bad thing was we had a reservation at 6:15 and we still had to wait a least 45 minutes unless we wanted to sit outside."

  • "Looking for great food, in a great friendly area this is it"

  • "The food was good, nothing spectacular. The drinks were over priced but they do have happy hour specials if you get there early enough. Service was great. We probably won't go back, nothing there to attract us for a second visit."

  • "Nice upscale Mexican but the service could have been slightly better. The pitcher of house margaritas was extremely good"

  • "I love this restaurant; however, the last two times I've dined here for dinner there has t been much of a crowd but I've waited over 45 minutes for my entree. The food shouldn't take that long and what's worse is how long it takes to get your drinks. If I have to wait for my food I at least want to sip my margarita!"

  • "Sevice very good, food Ok but noise level was very high"

  • "We selected Cocina 214 over the internet and we weren't disappointed. The margaritas were good with unusual combinations and the food was quite good - including the dessert we shared (1 piece of cake and 4 forks was plenty for everyone). Our server was friendly and knowledgable about questions we had about menu items. We dined inside but the outside seating looked inviting."

  • "We were walking through Winter Park on Sunday and found Cocina 214 off the main street. We thought Mexican would be a good lunch and we were very pleased. We sat at the bar and started with the warm chips and salsa - very good. On Sunday they have $3 mimosas ..... did that for sure. We had fundido for the appetizer and a skirt steak burrito for lunch. Everything was very good, hot and well prepared. Will return when we get back to Florida."

  • "I tried giving this place a chance for the second time and unfortunately I have to say it wasn't any better. I even ordered something different, the Carne Asada medium well and it came out rare and so chewy. For a $24 plate, it needs to be served correctly. I'm glad other people have had better experiences than me at Cocina 214."

  • "Great food, great service, great drinks, enjoyed the outdoor dining"

  • "The food was very well made, the ambience was inviting and the menu had plenty of selection. The service fell short. The server didn't write down or forgot our appetizer, was inconsistent in checking on us and generally seemed disinterested. It's a shame because the shrimp and blackened fish taco's were delicious."

  • "Food is great and the mimosas... The best! Music was a little loud but we were the first ones at the restaurant !"

  • "Dinner was great. The price was fair and the service was excellent. "

  • "We had a great table on the patio but it was more fit for 2-3 rather than the 5 people we had. When my husband went to ask the server about the lime orange Mojito she told him, "It's a Mojito." She only had our one table to serve and was still very slow to get ordered drinks and apps to the table. She had zero menu knowledge so we all had to figure out the menu on our own. My brother made the mistake of asking her questions and she just repeated what the menu said. When our main course arrived we had to inform her twice that we needed silverware and napkins. The food tasted great and even a bit on the spicy side when the menu said it was mild. Not sure I will go back at pay $17 for just 3 shrimp tacos. The brownie dessert was awesome!"

  • "The food presentation was marginal. Hoped for a more upscale Mexican place in Winter Park. Service was very limited. For a lunch service, our table was constantly asking for items missing. "

  • "Cocina was a hidden gem we found thanks to Open Table. Food was incredible and service the same. When back on Orlando area will definitely ( back."

  • "The food, service, and look was excellent but the restaurant is noisy. High ceilings and open floor do nothing to mask the noise so this is a better place for a friendly crowd than a quiet couple."

  • "Food was good, service was fast although restaurant was pretty full."

  • "This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Orlando. Drinks are great although a little pricey. The food is fresh and amazing! Always a favorite"

  • "Returned a week after first visit -- seated immediately. Service was very good by waiter Jackson who recognized me from the first time. Food was as good and also tried the bean and cheese nacho which was yummy. Fish tacos and rock shrimp tacos both are good options. Only comment is I asked for a side of guacamole, which we did not get, but that was OK as we had enough food!! We did have to get an adjustment on the bill and it said it was $9!!! The side is $2 but the waiter was going to just charge us for the appetizer size without questioning it. I spoke with the reception girl about it and the waiter also. I will know to be very careful next time!!"

  • "Food was good, but not outstanding. We went on Friday night and kids running around and service just ok. Brought food and no plates or silverwear. Had to keep reminding, so much for romantic..."

  • "Enjoyed the open layout. Unfortunately we could not eat outside but it did not deter us. Food was really good - fish tacos, chicken tacos, bean and cheese nachos (eaten as an entrée - full portion). Guacamole and salsa were also good. My only criticism would be that, since it was my first time, I wanted to mix the chicken and veggie tacos and they would not - that is they said they "could" not. Ridiculous. Both were the same price and the kitchen could have easily made two of one and one of the other......."

  • "This restaurant blows everything else in town away. The food, the atmosphere everything. The Carne Asada is the best I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Their Margaritas are all delicious (potent) and expertly made. The Queso fundido is amazing and served with hot tortillas. Costco has $100 value gift cards for $79.99 which makes this an even better bargain. I've stocked up on them. A must eat in place if you like Mexican food."

  • "Always a great experience a Cocina 214. Great food (love the brisket enchiladas), strong margaritas, and efficient service."

  • "I didn't even realize that they have a back room, they open it when it's not reserved and can put a couple large parties back there for birthdays and such. Everyone was very nice and accommodating to the come and go group that I had. They had the table ready in advance and were prepared to tackle the 20 or so people in the group. I have celebrated 2 birthday parties there now and always have a great time."

  • "I took my family here for a birthday luncheon and the weather was aweful- but the food and service were terrific. Loved the margarita 214 too!"

  • "Not the best Mexican food ever, but great drink selection and atmosphere make up for it. Foods not bad just not spectacular."

  • "My wife and I looked forward to dining at Cocina 214. Our friends arrived and we were seated in the restaurant. The room began to fill quickly as did the noise level. Apparently the restaurant felt that it's not important to enjoy a quiet conversation. We had to talk very loudly. Three of us are professional musicians and we have very good ears and it was difficult to hear one another. I had the pear salad that I found to be flavorless. My main course was the bacon wrapped shrimp which were dry on top of a bed of many onions and green peppers, which were also flavorless. The accompanying yellow rice and re fried beans more of the same. Our friend from Dallas suggest that we try another Mexican restaurant in Orlando. We won't be back!"

  • "First, the restaurant décor is cool and the patio was lovely (despite the view of the parking garage.) HOWEVER, the prices were not related to the quantity/quality/ingredients. We went for brunch and were surprised with $12 prices for basically eggs, tortillas & cheese (less than $1 worth of ingredients) - want to add some chorizo or chicken - $2 more. We went with "lunch" items - the enchiladas were just ok, but the "Mexican rice" was nothing but white rice with red sauce added in (no spices, seasonings, peppers, onions, anything) and the refried beans straight out of the can. I get that it is Park Ave area, but there are much better brunch options at the same prices."

  • "Food was not good at all. We have been here many times and loved the food. Huge drop in quality. Also, noise level was so high we couldn't even hear each other talk."

  • "Our family of four eats here 3-4 times per month. Whether you take your kids here or come for a night out with friends, the food and service is consistently good. Nice selection of margaritas and beers. Try the fajitas and burritos. All of them are creative and delicious."
