very tasty food but some dishes not as much as i was expecting for a Latino restaurant on the noisy side ok wine list by the glass; served in tumblers reasonable prices given the quality of the cooking ($120 for 2 with wine, tax and tip)

Wonderful food, great sangria! Food was interesting and made with passion and care. Flavours were unique and satisfying. Great atmosphere. Restaurant became very full but we were in our own world with all that delicious food. The service was okay. We made the mistake of over ordering and did not realize that each tapas plate was made for 4 servings and there was only two of us. I wish the waiter had explained the menu so we could have ordered more accordingly. I would recommend this restaurant, but go with a group of 3 or 4 people. Enjoy!

I had heard about Cobre from a friend who recommended the Albacore Ceviche and the Sangria. I went in never having tried either. It was an early dinner so I can't comment on how busy it would get later, but we were greeted and seated promptly, got our waters and drink order in. We ordered the Albacore Ceviche, the Pulled Pork Taquitos, and the Roasted chicken breast with the Serrano and lime soup. While I am not entirely sure what they all involved the waiters explained each dish as they arrived and they were all delicious. It was reasonably priced and a nice dinner before heading out for the night.

Cozy place with great food. Excellent service and cocktails. We tried a few diah and th scallops are well worth it as well as the corn bread and the mexixain shrimp. The belly boar as well as the duck is a bit of a miss.

We had an outstanding dinner here St. Paddy's Day evening! The place was packed but the service never let up. Our main server was great; fun, friendly and knew all about the menu. When she was busy someone else was there to help bring us drinks and food. And the food? We love going places that you get great food that you can't make at home, burgers, fries, BLT's? Pffft! Not here, the food that hit our table made us put our forks down a few times to really enjoy each mouthful!

While I was impressed with the menu, the value left something to be desired. We enquired arount the size of the scallops and were led to believe they would be larger than what arrived on the table, $18 for there small pieces seemed too steep even though they were done to perfection.

Wonderful experience all around. Went with a couple friends, made to feel welcome from start to finish. Food all fabulous, waiter everything you could want - friendly without being overbearing, efficient, knew the food, there when you wanted him but not when you didn't. Every dish we had (all four) were spectacular. Will be back again soon and often!

Upbeat and energetic for sure but not to loud either. Food was very very good. We enjoyed all of the tapas that we sharedee

Without question the service received was sincere and engaging, the culinary offerings however, missed the mark. Too many tacos for a establishment that boasts what it isn't. (another Mexican restaurant) The mains did not awaken my taste buds. As well intended they were dull. My taste buds wanted to tango but no one wanted to dance with me!

After a previous negative review resulting from a table mix-up, the manager responded soon after to apologise and offer me a dining gift card. Professional response that you would expect from a top-end restaurant. Food was esquisite - certainly one of the best in Vancouver and out-boxing some of the more refined restaurants in the area. Whilst it suggests 'tapas-style', the portions are larger. We devoured the scallops, boar belly, pan-fried chicken and duck taquería. The boar and duck were stand-out but it was all esquisitely cooked and prepared. I doubt there is a bad dish on the menu. Waiter was attentive without being invasive - offering suggestions when prompted and never on the hard-sell. I will certainly be returning.

I did not know this until our server enlightened us.We loved the different flavors in the various dishes we had ordered, and will definitely be returning and recommending this restaurant.

Tapas type food comes in staggered servings which took too long for me but the food was excellent, very enjoyable and easy to share. 2 hours for dining is my maxmimum "sit still" time but this dinner took 2 1/2 hours on a busy Saturday night and so we went elsewhere for desert and coffee because by then the noise level had risen so high and we were anxious to get up and move around.

Waiter recommended great dishes... he took care of our group very well! Actually the service from out waiter was super and his collegue who brought out some of the dishes was also very pleasant, we love how the dish is described in detail when it is brought to the table... Food was very high calibre! Nice relaxed atmosphere. Love the cucumber infused water and that we didn't have to repeatedly ask to have more water, our glasses were refilled generously and that was nice!

Delicious! The three course menu didn't seem like it would be enough, but we could not have eaten another bite. The servings may appear small and managable, but they are quite filling. However, it is the flavour that is the largest part of the evening. Kudos!

    Dined on 2/1/2012
Came here for a late dinner for Dine Out Vancouver. To start, I had the duck tacos (awesome) and she had the rockfish ones which were quite good but nothing to write home about. We both had the wild prawns for the second course. In retrospect we should have gotten different dishes and shared as the courteous staff suggested. The prawns were a little over-firm, but the cornbread patty they came on was pretty good. For dessert we shared dulce de leche with tamarind and tres leches, both of which were very good but not outstanding. Service was good as expected at a nice restaurant. They moved us through a bit quickly, but it was the end of the night and Dine Out to boot. Overall 4/5 and I'd go back to try it on a normal night.

Nice atmosphere, dark small and cozy. All the staff were friendy and very efficient. The food was very good although I thought the dinner portions were very small. Perhaps bread or chips and salsa may have helped. We went during Dine Out and had one very picky eater. He was alittle disappointed that we couldnt choose off the regular menu. We have been to other dine out establishments that still offered things off the menu. Overall it was very good.
