This is where I go when in this area. Yes, there are plenty of places but the drinks and service at bar are great. All of the seafood is outstanding. Three nights, three different fresh seafood, redfish, cod, flounder! Try it and you will be back like me.

When staying on Jekyll we almost always make the short drive to Coastal Kitchen. The four of drove over last night and everything was as good as our last visit. The "yummie coffee" after dinner drink was a special hit.

I've been here a couple times, both times the food and service are excellent. Very friendly staff. The restaurant is situated on a boat dock which makes it very scenic and a bit more interesting and can be romantic, however the restaurant itself is a very simple understated ambiance.

We were Friday night October 30....Halloween and Friday night before GA/FLA game. Our server was outstanding. The food was delicious. The print on the menu is too small but our server had a lighted magnifying glass in his pocket and that was so very helpful. I am glad the restaurant understands older eyes do not adjust well to small print and dim light. The only negative is the noise level but that will not keep us away when we visit St. Simons again. It was hard to carry on a conversation. We highly recommend.

We have been going to St Simons Island multiple times each year (for golf-related activities) for 4 years. Somehow we have previously tried every restaurant on the island except this one. This is the place I've been looking for!! The food is very well done. Coastal offers many of the expected seafood options but prepared exceptionally well, and served with perfect service in a small, charming, white table cloth atmosphere overlooking the marsh & marina where the golden evening sunlight plays on the beautiful boats and marsh grasses. We ate dinner on Friday night and came back for Sunday brunch. Both were delicious and memorable. I will be returning as many times as I am able.

I have been to this restaurant several times. Food is always very good and staff are courteous and professional. Given this, it was extremely DISAPPOINTING to witness the OWNER be incredibly rude to his hostess in front of paying customers. When I pointed out that the hostess had gotten the correct information from us vs going off his assumptions he quickly began correcting me. After we were seated he came to us and gave a pseudo apology in that he again blamed the hostess for his behavior. I'm not inclined to give this man another penny of my money.

Nice restaurant and bar at Morningstar Marina just past the St Simmons causeway. Nice casual/elegant vibe and good food that offers a nice alternative to the areas many fried seafood joints. The Oyster Popcorn is a tasty alternative to the usual fried calamari. I loved their Georges Bank Scallops and Shrimp with the butternut squash puree but my wife's Low Country Paella was a disappointment. More like a sausage, seafood and rice plate, it lacked the moist consistency you expect from a paella. Try their "Nine Dollar Rum Drink", a refreshing combo of 3 types of rum and fruit juice. If you order more than one, make sure you have a designated driver!

If you want to see the sunset, this is the place to be. The Oyster Roast idea is good but visitors need to be reminded that when the outside temp begins to drop the sandflies come out so be prepared. After giving up on the roast we ordered steamed shrimp that tasked like they had jumped from the water directly into the pan, so fresh. They were wonderful! The band was good if not a little loud for those that elected to sit on the patio for the oyster roast.

Family of 6 dined at CK. The food was very good. One disappointment was the hush puppies are not authentic. Otherwise everything from salads and salad dressings to fried shrimp, crab cakes, stuffed flounder AND desserts were outstanding. The wItress was 5-star unflappable in response to requests and taking orders from a large group. Price-wise the CK is on par with many if the local mass seating establishments on the island (and you know them well)... But the food is a cut above, except for hush pups.

We loved everything about our meal. Clean and nice ambiance, service was fantastic- kind staff and fast service, knowledgeable about gluten allergy and accommodating, great view, kids menu with crayons etc. (TVs in the bar if you wanted to see a game) We went early at 5:45 and took our 16 month old- she loved looking at the boats. Our table had the grouper, red fish, and flounder and they were all delicious. My favorite was the grouper with a glass of vinho verde. I've heard the lobster nachos are a must but we forgot to order them. We will definitely go back soon.

The food was bland and not unique. The server was very disengaged and not attentive, she practically ran away from the table to minute you answered her question. We ordered a cocktail in the bartender made them very light because she knew she didn't have enough in the bottle to make two drinks. Yet when we ordered another round she tried it again. Then she came by the table they say they had run out of that liquor and she was trying to stretch it. For the quality of the food it was overpriced. We selected this restaurant based on reading the menu online the fact that it was on the water in the menu looked creative. Will not recommend to anyone and we will not return.

I agree with the almost unanimous acclaim for this place. I've eaten here for years and feel that, overall, it's probably the best place on St. Simons. However, my impression is that the menu has remained much the same for a long, long time. Yes, the Low Country Paella is good, the Wild Georgia Shrimp and Grits is good, etc., etc., but things are beginning to strike me as a bit stale. I'm not a particularly venturesome diner, so if I'm noticing a lack of innovation others must be also. I would hate to see this attractive restaurant rest on its laurels; things can run downhill awfully fast.

Arrived 15 minutes early for an 8:00 p.m. reservation. Only one bartender for the busy restaurant and the packed bar area. Took a while to order a drink. At 8:15 when no one came to get us to be seated, we checked in again because it was evident they forgot about us. Finally at the table, our waiter Steve was great and his service was very good. The dishes were rich and tasty. Would eat there again.

We made 8:30 reservations for dinner on a Saturday night with 2 young kids. We were seated close to that time and had a great waitress. She put in the kids' orders and brought them out in no time which was super helpful while we were able to enjoy the evening. Our dinner was delish- fried shrimp and the shrimp and scallops and we ordered the ice cream for everyone for dessert which is definitely homemade and sooo good! We were actually pulling back up at the condo when the restaurant called to tell us we'd forgotten one of the kid's diaper bags! One thing to note... when we walked in the door it took a couple minutes to find someone to acknowledge us. Once that was done everything else was good!

The snapper was probably the best fish my husband and I have ever had! Also, the tuna appetizer was extraordinarily good! We had reservations and were seated promptly. Although the restaurant was quite crowded, we did not feel rushed (to the contrary - and the only negative that we had - we waited about 30 minutes after we were seated before we were asked for our drink/wine order) But all in all, we had a very pleasant evening!
