This was my first time and diffently wont be my last. I can't express how wonderful this resturant is. The ambiance the view the food and the service was superior.I didn't want to leave. Our server ,was amazing. To some,he might have been a little cheesey but to me he was awesome. There is not one bad thing I can say about this resturant. I have been to alot of nice resturant in the metro Detroit area this one surpasses them all.

The main course (risotto) was the worst I've ever had and the rice was uncooked. The bread pudding was dry and not as moist as expected. Overall, the food was bad and I will never go back. Not worth the $$$ at all!

My work team did a dinner here, and it was great. The view is incredible and everyone from out of town loved it. The server was knowledgeable, the wine was good and the food was outstanding. It's definitely a place where you're not rushed and there's a lot of time for talking. I had the lobster corn dogs, fried green tomatoes, kale salad, tuna and sweet potato cheesecake - I'd definitely recommend all of those things as they were all delicious. It would be a great spot for a special dinner, particularly of the romantic kind.

I greatly enjoyed dinner overlooking Detroit and Windsor. However, I was generally disappointed by the food and the ambiance. For such a great location, Coach Insignia lacked the feel of a upscale restaurant and outside of the view, lacked any character (aside from a few cool chairs). The food was good, but I've had much better in this price range. Wine list was great. Very courteous service.

We went to Coach Insignia right at sunset, and watched the city as it transitioned from sunset to night time. Beautiful views, great for a special occasion. The food and wine menu is pricey as expected, but the food is excellent and they recently started a Vegetarian menu which we appreciated. Our server was very professional and didn't mind that we stayed for almost a 3 hour dinner. I think they know that people go there for the experience.

This restaurant had a spectacular view of the city . Our server Eric was excellent and mad ethe whole experience wonderful. The only complaint I have is that I ordered the New York Strip and I had overheard when the table next to me ordered the same thing about 1/2 an hour after we placed our order. The server had told them that they were out of New York Strips and asked if they would like something else. Meanwhile my dinner had arrived and it was covered in mushrooms and onions, which I ordered, but the steak underneath was a ribeye and I coulld not believe that they had substituted a different cut of meat without saying anything. The steak was still great, but at a restaurant of this caliber it is not acceptable.

We were celebrating our daughters 16th birthday, but have 2 younger children as well and everyone was made to feel welcome. The food was really good, not outstanding but the service and view made up for that. Our reservation was late due to childrens activities and although we did not start dessert until midnight we were not rushed at any point of the meal or felt like they were hurrying us out so they could go home. A great experience!

The food was great when we first came here in 1998 (Summit), (2000) as Coach, and was still great today for our 15th anniversary. The steaks were excellent and the price and quality was comparable to many good steakhouses. I loved the mushrooms, however for $8, these were overpriced. We also had the Greek Salad for 2, which seemed reasonable at $10, compared to individual salads at $8. Also would recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese, very rich and tasty. Great views, food, and service. Also remember to valet on riverside near the Andiamo as the valet will be $10. We could not find the valet and parked in lot adjacent and paid $18, which is outrageous in Detroit for 2 hours.

Not an every day place - too high end for me. The waitstaff was very accommodating, and not at all pushy. The view is breathtaking (although the table we were at was placed squarely in front of a pillar and next to a wine storage room, so it was a bit limited), and the food is top notch.

THE PORK TENDERLOIN WAS NOT EVEN WARM BUT IT WAS TOUGH. THE VEGETABLES WERE WILTED. IF I HAD COOKED THIS AT HOME I WOULD HAVE THROWN IT AWAY. THERE CAN NOT BE A CHEF IN THE KITCHEN JUST SOMEONE THEY GAVE A WHITE JACKET TO AND TOLD THEM THEY WERE A COOK. THIS IS A PLACE WHERE PEOPLE ATTENDING A COMPANY SEMINAR OR CONVENTION CAN WASTE CORPORATE MONEY, IT IS NOT A RESTAURANT, JUST A VIEW.

My husband and I chose Coach Insignia for our anniversary dinner which was on a Monday. The restaurant had an elegant, upscale feel to it which is why we chose it. The scenery was nice and the atmosphere was calm. The service was moderate and somewhat disappointing considering the type of restaurant and the expense. The hosts were very pleasant, however, the waitress was not attentive and was slow to respond. We had to make several efforts to connect with her and even when we did she kept forgetting to follow up. We finally gave up on our request. I would recommend the Coach Insignia to a friend for the food and the Detroit experience but I will certainly share my displeasure with the table service.

I was brought to dinner at Coach Insignia for my birthday and had a fabulous experience. The elevator ride up to the restaurant is breathtaking, literally (all glass, facing Detroit river) and the view of Detroit from the 71st and 72nd floors of the Renaissance are beyond compare in the city. We arrived early and had cocktails at the bar, which were fabulous and unique. When we were shown to our table my fiance mentioned that it was my birthday to the greeter and unbeknownst to us, this was passed on to our server. Our server made great recommendations, was attentive and kept the table clear. Food was fantastic, reasonably priced...especially our dessert which had "Happy Birthday" scrawled on it in chocolate syrup with a birthday candle.

I took my wife here for our anniversary. The view of Detroit/Canada from the restaurant is great. The elevator ride up takes a bit getting used to. It is not bad though just a long ride up to the top of the RenCen. I haven't been that high before. Our waitress was amazing. She did an awesome job. I only had two issues they were not deal breakers though. The first is they had a group in there that was pretty loud. It was a large group so its hard to keep large groups really quiet. The other was the lobster mac and cheese. We didn't really like it, it had a weird sweetness to it that just didn't go well with the dish. Other than that the service was great, the food was great we had filets and broccolini as well.

Service was kind of slow. We went on a Saturday night. We were seated right away by a window which was what I requested so that was good. However I don't think our waiter came to us until 30min later. Food took a while which I expected. When we were done, it took another 30min for the bill to come. Waiter was very nice though. He brought us free dessert because we were celebrating something. tl;dr I recommend for food and ambiance if you are not in a rush

Very nice ambiance and view of the river from the top of the Ren Cen. The food was very good and they had a great wine list. Overall the experience was great until dessert.
