Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious! The view is unmatched in Detroit - absolutely beautiful. The wine list is overwhelming... the service is always excellent... and the steaks are delicious! We will use any excuse to travel downtown to enjoy this dining experience - a special occasion, an anniversary or even an overdue date night. The Coach cosmo is to die for as well as the old favorite called Willy's punch. We love it and always recommend Coach to all of our friends. Coach insignia did their best to reserve a river view table. They did not disappoint. The staff was very kind and knowledgable. Our waiter was excellent. This is the type of restaurant where knowledge of wine can be very handy. Unfortunately, I am a beer guy. No fear, our waiter recommended an excellent beer for my meal. This was my first time at Coach Insignia, thanks to Restaurant Week, but it will no be our last. My only complaint was the 18% gratuity that was automatically added to our bill. We ordered off the Detroit Restaurant Week menu, so I don't know if the "regular" menu has the same surcharge. It was stated on the menu (in very fine print) and our server did mention it when he brought the bill. My only, minor, complaint was the lack of window seating for my small party; we were placed into a large booth. The service was attentive but never pushy. We enjoyed a delicious wine. Though we didn't consult the sommelier he was pleasant upon deliver and discussed our choice with us. Our server Eric was helpful in his suggestions and made us feel incredibly comfortable throughout the meal. The little touches were perfect.
