Coach GrillGreat Steak HouseAlways good food and service. You get what you pay for.
Thank you6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistent qualityThis is probably about the sixth or seventh time we have eaten at the Coach Grill and the experience continues to be a high quality one in all respects. The service is attentive without being intrusive, the food is of a consistently high quality and the ambience is energetic but definitely not deafening. Recommended for more than a one-off visit.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCoach GrillConsistently good, excellent steaks, fresh sides and great service.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNoiseIt's a very loud restaurant (always has been), you adjust to the noise. everything else was great6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood steaksNot a steak house, but the steaks are good. Cooked to perfection. If server doesn't ask which sauce you want, ask for it. Baked potato can easily serve four! The colossal chocolate cake is colossal! Can easily serve four! Light and chocolatly. Enjoy a relaxing mean--you are not hurried. Enjoy!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the perfect venueThis was the perfect venue for our daughters graduation night dinner. Our waitress was professional and very good but didn't wow us. The food was very good, but I do wish the steaks came with some sides rather than having to order separate ones - the plates looked very bare - even a sprig of parsley would have improved the look. That being said the ambience was top notch for a multigenerational party and we love the round tables that could comfortably seat the 7 of us. The sea bass - which did come with sauce and sides on the plate was awesome!!!!6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been dining at the CoachI've been dining at the Coach Grill for the last 10 years and to this day I haven't ever had a bad meal..6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMRestaurant was spacious andRestaurant was spacious and quiet, though very slightly "frayed" about the edges. Food very good to excellent, though perhaps not outstanding; portions generous. We had filet mignon (meltingly tender), salmon Hollandaise (very good, tho salmon could have been smokier), and lobster crepes. Service was attentive.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great Coach dinnerI chose The Coach Grille for my daughter's graduation celebration dinner as I have eaten there many times in the past and was ways happy with the result. All nine of us enjoyed a leisurely dinner with great food and service, as usual. The Coach Grille consistently delivers a great meal experience and we will be back. Thanks for making our family dinner a memorable one. A final note
About the wine list- we stumbled across a Sangiovese bottled in the Bologna area by Umberto Cesari- and in my frequent trips to Italy near Bologna, I know that label well. It is exclusively served in the hotel restaurant where I stay and they bottle great wines!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!3 of us had the night's special, but each with a graciously accepted minor change. Food and service excellent as always.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistantly a great place! We have always had a great meal here since it opened! One of our favorite places for a dinner especially with friends we don't see often. It is a relaxed atmosphere with pleasant service. We never feel rushed.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNever a doubtAlways a great meal. It is our "go to" place for a nice dinner for special family gatherings. Everyone is always very happy with their steaks/prime rib. I order fish and it is yummy. It is Boston steakhouse food without driving to Boston5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMRomantic Special TreatThe Coach Grill like other other anniversary dinners (this being our 6th) we choose a special place that we have never been to mainly on recommendations we hear about. The food and our waitress were great. One of our servers did not realize we order 2 small soups also he did not know what salad dressing was on the 2 salads. The only problem found was there seemed not to be enough dressing on the salads , we knew we could have asked for extra. Overall the food was great and everyone was nice we dealt with. I was impressed also at the next table over one of the people ordered a special that was not on the menu and the manager came directly up to her to ask if she was happy with this special. Pricey for a special night is worth it.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways amazing! We're regulars at the Coach Grill. The food is consistently amazing and by far, they have the best wait staff and service. They make you feel special. It's the only place around where we never feel rushed and take our time to relax and enjoy ourselves. If you enjoy great food and appreciate a wonderful atmosphere, then the Coach Grill is a must!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood choice for the wrong reasonsThe wrong reasons: Coach Grill is not open for lunch. Thus a Sunday brunch was an attractive alternative to a 20 mile drive on Rt 95 (128) in darkness or heavy traffic for this near octogenerian.
Good chice: (For the right reasons)
1. The service despite a group-filled restaurant on graduation day was pleasant and more than adequate
2. The wine list extensive, reasonably priced.
3. The brunch menu creative, also reasonably priced.
4. Table service a welcome change from buffet style brunches.
5. Our meals excellent and served hot.
6. The portions would satisfy the most ravenous appetite.
7. And last . . . we were informed that The Coach Grill regular dinner menu is also served
during the brunch hours on Sundays from 11AM to 3PM5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMfantastic custom eggs benedict.,fantastic custom eggs benedict., very accomodating to requests ..marvelous corn pudding (decadent and delicious) ...extremely nice and helpful waiter, Matt....
wonderful experience as usual!!5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food at decent pricesI enjoyed my diner although it may have been ill timed. It was extremely loud most likely due to the over abundance of Graduation Diners that were being consumed. The food however is good and compared to the big steak houses in the city the prices are reasonable.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AM1st time at the Coach GrillEverything was great! Service was exceptional and our appetizer and dinners were amazing. Fresh warm bread! Yummy!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMYum!My husband and I rarely get out (having 3 kids under 5 years of age), so we decided to stay local. We're so glad we did! When we walked in we received a warm welcome and were immediately seated. We were greeted by a really nice waiter, and he promptly told us the specials and grabbed some cocktails for us ( I tried a Hendricks gin and tonic for the first time -- highly recommend it). We had the crab appetizer and scallops wrapped in bacon (which were cooked perfectly). For our entrees we had the filet minot w/stuffed shrimp and a side of asparagus -- everything was excellent. We'll be back!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMCoach Grill ThrillAmbiance - Excellent
Service - Excellent
Food - Spinach was too salty. Corn Pudding had great taste but served somewhat cold inside.
I would go again as I know others have not had this experience. Reputation alone is worth a second look.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. JustThe food was delicious. Just thought the portions of the appetizers that we ordered were very small. That was very disappointing.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways GoodI have been coming to the Coach for years and will continue to do so. It is always very good. One note that I have to make is that I ordered the Beef Stroganoff and was not impressed. It just seemed bland to me. Perhaps that's what it is supposed to be like, but I will most likely not order that in the future. Everything was excellent.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMReservation. My Open Table reservation was available BUT my request for our favorite server was ignored. I also mentioned it was my husband's 80th birthday, which went un noticed. We were seated at a very small booth which gave us little elbow room or room for the food selections. I did not assert myself. I did not want to embarass the inexperienced young hostess. Coach Grill is our favorite restaurant. The wait staff and food is the best in Metro West. We will certainly go back.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMClassic and consistentA nice restaurant with consistent food and service.
Ask for Kevin!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDont need to go to BostonWe thoroughly enjoyed our evening and our dinner.
Had gone into Boston last weekend to another Steak House - it was very good but what a hassle.
Parking, Valet, very busy, noisy etc
This was perfect5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMReturn to the scene of the crime...Next month, it will be 15 years since I first asked my wife out on a date. Tina was my waitress when The Coach Grill was known as "Hillary's" ........ She waited tables over 4 years and became an "assistant manager" before they closed. The food was GREAT at Hillary's too.. The Coach Grill is even better now,... Tina had the steak "au poivre" and it was cooked to perfection and I had the "wood grilled Scallops" which were delicious !! We also had French Onion soup AND the Lobster Mac + Cheese and I HIGHLY recommend those appetizers ! The Coach Grill brings back great memories for us but its the great food that keeps us "returning to the scene of the crime"5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Coach Grill is always great. It is great for groups, children and romance! They are very accomodating for all kinds of groups or for just 2- 4 people. Some use it as a special occasion restaurant but why it is local, always good and one of my favorites! The staff is courteous and helpful. The food is consistent whether it is a busy weekend night or slowere during the week night.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSat. Night treatOur first time at the Coach Grill. From start to finish a lovely dining experience.
The reservation was waiting for us and we walked right in, no wait on a very busy Sat. night at prime dinner hour to a table in their private dining room....quiet, and nice ambience.
The cocktail was made perfectly, not always done so at other restaurants. Careful with the bread.....you could make a meal just with that. The ceasar salad was good and the anchovies were the real thing. The beef was about a good as it ever gets: tender, flavorful, cooked exactly right and seafood stuffing was quite nice. with the stuffed shrimp. The Butterscotch bread pudding was sinful. In all, a satisfying experience for a special ocassion. We will be back in the future.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, patrons pretentiousLovely restaurant, excellent food, great wait staff. Went for a celebration dinner with my family, everyone was pleased. However the patrons of this restaurant seem very pretentious and conservative. By the way unlike some reviewers have noted, this is not a restaurant for children. I look forward to going back for a nice meal with my husband.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMMostly outstandingBrought business colleagues from New Zealand here for dinner. We all raves over the steaks' quality and flavor. All but one cooked to perfection. Desserts were a huge hit too! Waiter was way over zealous with us and spoke loudly, past funny to annoying. Would certainly come back.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food, superb seviceA special occasion dinner that met all our expectations. Our server Laura was professional yet engaging and energetic. Martinis and Cosmos were made by someone who obviously knows their craft. The seared ahi appetizer...amazing, and surprisingly generous for two. Salads and filets completed the evening in style. Very satisfying experience.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for our anniversary andWent for our anniversary and enjoyed it very much.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNormally I would rate CaochNormally I would rate Caoch Grill higher. However, this time I switched from my usual order to their Premier - Delmonico Steak, and was disappointed with the quality. It was served correctly - rare, but for $40.OO it was very tough and excessively grizzled on the edge.... Other three memebers in the party were pleased with their Filet and Shrimp orders.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMPrime rib was excellent -Prime rib was excellent - porterhouse was stringy, but I would go back and give them another try. Prices were very reasonable and portions were substantial.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMNot the best, but.....We had the brunch menu. I was not overly excited about mine. The steak was overdone, but I didn't say anything. Others complained that the french toast to way too sweet. Syrup should have been served on the side.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and pleasant atmosphereMy husband and I enjoyed an excellent dinner at Coach Grille recently. I had sea bass over spinach, which was delicious and he claimed the wood-grilled salmon was the best he'd ever eaten. An orchid in a glass cube adorned the white cloth table linen. There are tables and booths available for 2 or a large group. The black leather padding was quite comfy. The service was mostly good, though there was a longish wait between the table clearing after we finished our meals and the delivery of a dessert menu.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent ExperienceI was so impressed by this restaurant - the decor was a little old-fashioned for me but it was impeccably clean and had a lively atmosphere. The food was fantastic, filet mignon was cooked absolutely perfect, and sides of garlic mashed and sauteed spinach were excellent. Our server was probably the best server I've ever had at any restaurant. He had a great sense of humor, was knowledgeable about every dish, and he was attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a wonderful experience all around.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a wonderful breakfastWhat a wonderful breakfast served with large and delicious portions. Beautiful fresh fruit cup and spectacular french toast. Everyone in party was pleased with the a special breakfast out.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Fantastic!Coach could very well be the most consistently good restaurant in all of Metro West Boston. The good is always delicious and well prepared. Staff is very nice and always accommodating. Oysters are fresh and usually from diff parts of New England giving you a different look each time you visit. The meat is well-seasoned and I'm a fan of the small bar scene. K
I do wish they started carrying Titos Vodka. Otherwise, the place is awesome.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best food, atmosphereThe best food, atmosphere and the greatest staff. They treat you as if you are the only people in the restaurant. The food is to die for! The prices are very reasonable. I loved it! Will be back.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter, Kevin, was fantastic. Our waiter, Kevin, was fantastic. One person in our party was drinking wine and he took the time to select a wine that would complement her food. The steaks were cooked to perfection! We normally like to sit on the bar side of the restaurant so that if we're loud, it's more acceptable. We were seated in the main dining room in a comfy booth against the back wall. This setup allowed us to have great group conversation. We had a fantastic night.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHighly Recommend Coach GrillCoach Grill is one of our favorite local spots, and we consider ourselves lucky to be "local" to it. This trip was to celebrate our daughter's 9th birthday, but we also go for anniversaries or large family celebrations (parents' birthdays). They have a children's menu, but will adjust anything on the regular menu to be kid-friendly, i.e. our daughter likes a filet oscar without the bernaise sauce and they served it with fries. The steaks are out of this world (try the filet on the bone for a treat!), and the service is impeccable. If you are going for a specific event (large group, romantic dinner, family meal, etc.), the staff will make sure that you are seated appropriately. Or just enjoy drinks and food at the bar-you can't go wrong4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTook my son for his 18th birthday.Took my son for his 18th birthday. Bit of a splurge, but you only turn 18 once!! Very good waitress, excellent food, always a pleasure to dine here. It is expensive though so we don't come too often...but when we do it's always consistently great.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was great. FromEverything was great. From the hostess, to the bartender, to the shrimp, oysters and drinks in the bar, the waiter, salads, steaks, the sides etc. Everything was terrific.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCelebrated our sons Birthday,Celebrated our sons Birthday, had a wonderful meal, our waiter was very helpful with answering all of our questions and very knowledgeable. The waitress we had came right away and provided us with quick and efficient service. The brunch was delicious! The restaurant had a warm and friendly atmosphere. Can't wait to go back3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Way it Should Be!!!This is our special occasion restaurant. It is pricey but worth it. We have our favorite waiter , Kevin, who is the consummate professional. He has the same level of professionalism that was last seen twenty years ago. The food is special and not pretentious. Real steaks!! Real potatoes and real drinks. Nothing cutsie here. It is a new restaurant with an old time feeling of class and service. This is why we do not mind paying the price. For once, a true value for what you get. The real deal!!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMCoach Grill has become theCoach Grill has become the go-to place for all special occasions for my extended family. We especially like the restaurant for the winter months when the real fireplace is working. A really nice suburban spot for the folks who are outside of the 495 area.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AM
