  • "I have been to the coach grill many times. It is normally a favorite for the excellent food. We find not have this experience this time. My sirlion was very fatty we also had a filet which was good however not much flavor. No garnishes very bland. Bottle of red wine was good but served way to warm. We were there very early before it was even busy...for the money we were very disappointed with this trip."

  • "The waitstaff (Angie)was excellent, but the food was disappointing. Quite a lot of brown lettuce in the Caesar salad and bland, watery dressing. The calamari arrived with the breading in crumbs on the bottom of the plate and the calamari naked. We had to scoop up the crumbs to eat WITH the calamari. The Steak au Poivre was good and they gave us extra sauce. Lobster bisque was fair at best. Disappointing meal as we have been eating there for many years. We hope it was an aberration and just an off night in the kitchen."

  • "This was not my first visit to the Coach Grill and in the past we were pleased with the dining experience. Three of us went there and one person who ordered a steak was pleased with the meal. I had the rack of lamb which was fair. The chops were tasty but very small and the other dissatisfied guest had char which he said was only fair. This is not an inexpensive restaurant and the food should have been better. I have a special occasion soon and will go elsewhere."

  • "We just had dinner at Coach Grill in Wayland, MA to celebrate my husband's birthday. There were 7 of us, an odd number for a table, but the round table/booth worked great. I had the salmon which was delicious. All the food was wonderful including the birthday cake. The servers are also very friendly and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special event."

  • "For a place in location in the Burb's the food is nothing special, not worth writing home about. It is so over price it is not funny, I can so go into downtown Boston and get a much better meal at the same price or less. Not sure why people go back. Really $38 for a piece Swordfish with risotto which was less then the size of a 1/2 slice of bread. Will probably never go back"

  • "Our group of 4 sat at a comfortable booth and started with a great cocktail, mine being a Manhattan. The wine list has some affordable finds. I started with the Crab and Lobster Louie which was delicious, and the pepper jelly of the the Herb Crusted Brie triple cream brie was to die for. The rack of lamb was perfectly cooked. I shared a Butterscotch Bread Pudding for dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and felt it to be a good and decadent way to end the experience. I have been to the Coach Grill four times in the last few months and have yet to be disappointed."

  • "We arrived on time for our 6.15 reservation on a Sat. evening and noticed that the place was not totally full. The food was great but we felt that we were rushed throughout our meal. We even stopped and requested more time to look at the menu at least twice. This was surprising to us since there were plenty of other open tables available. Again...the food was excellent."

  • "I had driven by the Coach a million times and the parking lot was always jammed. Now I know why. It is clearly the best upscale dining option that we have in the Metrowest. It is not cheap, but not overly pricey. Food was great, ambiance was also great. If you live in the Metrowest, it is a must."

  • "It started when we were seated 45 minutes late on our reservation. (Which we had made only a 1/2 hour prior-- why take the res if you can't accommodate?) They brought over an appetizer as an apology but only after we had ordered our own appetizers. For dinner, they completely forgot to order the 3 sides with our meals. When asked if they were coming, they said they would bring right out but we were finished with our steaks and still hadn't seen them. They wrapped them up to go. At home we discovered it was actually not even what we ordered! Their prices and reputation far exceed the actual experience and do not sync up. The food is good, but not so good that it makes up for lousy experience otherwise."

  • "Very comfortable dining room, lighting was perfect. The menu offers something for all diners . Great selection of appetizers, we sampled the Clams Casino, outstanding, seafood stuffed mushrooms, crab cake, onion rings- all excellent. Chopped salad was very good with handmade dressings, this portions is enough for two, I would consider splitting this salad. The hearts of lettuce was excellent also. We ordered Rack of Lamb, dry aged bone in Kansas City strip steak, bone in Rib Eye and the filet mignon, surf n turf half baked stuffed lobster. Dry aged sirloin was superb, tender tasty and broiled to perfection, rib eye was juicy and a generous cut, the rack of lamb was a beautiful presentation and tasted wonderful. Great wine list great menu!"

  • "The Coach Grill was one of our favorite top restaurants. You could always count on an excellent dining experience. Not on Friday 3/14/14! It took an hour to receive our food ~ at least. I had the stuffed shrimp with spinach. The spinach was not washed enough and was very gritty. The sandy/gritty material got on my shrimp and made them gritty. My husband's fish arrived lukewarm and unfortunately he ordered the spinach too. Our waitress was gracious and replaced the spinach but by then the other items on both plates were gritty. There were long pauses between service and we waited several times for drink refills and to report the spinach issue. It was a very expensive meal without any alcohol ~ 147.59 with tip for 3 people."

  • "When the extremely attentive server first asked, "Have you been to the Coach before?" we laughed. Yes, 50 times or more. It's convenient, we trust the food, and the service is always great. But recently, the Coach changed ownership, and our last couple visits were very disappointing. No more mango salsa with the crabcake dinner and our favorite shoestrings are big and fat--and those things still disappoint. We decided to give it another try. We had everything from the crab louis and bacon appetizers to tuna and prime rib. Everything met our expectations, but it was the waiter who made it an outstanding experience worth reviewing. We'll be back, Coach, but won't you consider bringing back the salsa and the shoestrings?"

  • "My steak was served very rare (purple inside) when I requested medium so they needed to cook it more which took awhile during which everyone else at my were almost finished by the time I got my steak back. Further, we were there to celebrate my mother's birthday which I told the hostess and then I snuck off to remind the waiter once we ordered dessert. We made a plan to bring out her chocolate cake with a candle.......which did not happen. Another waiter came out with the cake no candles....then when we were almost finished dessert our waiter brought out a different dessert (cheesecake) with a candle. It was awkward then waited a long time for our check. I was just dissappointed as I usually have a much better experience at the Coach Grill."

  • "We had an outstanding meal at Coach Grill. Two of us had caesar salads and one had the chopped salad to start. They were very well prepared, fresh, crispy greens, etc. The mail meals were Dry Aged Kansas City Strip (2 of us) and the salmon. I had the steak and it was monstrous and done perfectly (medium rare for me). Really enjoyed it. The salmon looked perfect too....not dried out which can sometimes happen in restaurants. Sides were asparagus and the grilled mushrooms....also perfect. We shared the chocolate layer cake for desert....we were all stuffed but had to try it. It was fabulous...like eating fudge. Service was wonderful. Wine selection was terrific. The ambiance was great....background music a bit loud, but OK"

Hard to leave room for desert because the portions are very generous, however we all had a taste of Birthday cake, outstanding! Love the Coach Grill, will absolutely return.   • "Coach Grill has a fairly new menu and it has a new chef that has done a good job at creating some excellent items. The crab appetizer is especially good as is the fried and grilled calamari. For dinner, the ribeye is tender and fit for an individual with a large appetite. A dinner mate had the lamb chops which were excellent although a bit small. However, that was made up for since there were seven chops in the plate. Another guest had Sea Bass and commented on how good it tasted. The service is friendly and good. All in all, a great evening."

  • "Our filets came ridiculously salty. The staff was great and served us new ones. I can honestly say the meat was not remarkable On a plate that is around $36 nothing is served on this large place but a piece of meat. No garnish and now they no longer put in the aus ju. Put back the aus ju!"

  • "Megan, our server, was perfect--friendly, attentive, efficient. A manager checked in with us to make sure we were happy. We had heard the coffee was great, and it was true--in fact it was excellent--very important to us in a brunch spot. The food overall was very good--although blueberry pancakes could have had a few more blueberries; eggs benedict tasted of vinegar (these were quickly & easily replaced). Omelets were filling and delicious. Lovely, large stone fireplace and soft sounds of Ella Fitzgerald created a warm, friendly ambiance. Older crowd and young families, was nice. We would definitely go back. Very relaxing spot for brunch."

  • "My wife and I celebrated a recent birthday at the Coach Grill. Although we had reservations, we had to wait about 20 minutes for our table. The room is lively, filled with enthusiastic patrons, each exuberant and trying to be heard over one another. We started with salads which were quite good and abundantly apportioned. The breads provided were delicious. We next chose a couple of steaks for our main course, a mainstay of this restaurant. The bone-in Kansas Cith Strip was delicious and perfectly sized. I would have been very happy with this choice, had I not tried my wife's filet mignon which was even better. We complemented the main course with 3 veggie sides, the best was the cauliflower mornay. Very good food and service, but pricey."

  • "We had a lovely dinner here, and we're starting to hit the Coach Grill once a month for either brunch or dinner. The food is consistently good. Lobster risotto was excellent, and I just love the Skillet Cookie dessert (though I always have to work out just before or after eating that one). Overall, a pleasant place with great service and good food."

  • "This restaurant is superlative in so many ways. The menu is excellent - something for everyone, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere is cozy even with an open architecture. The wait staff is eager to please and can make it happen. The bartending is great - not one drink that isn't made perfectly. The noise level can get a bit much but adds to the excitement. Even the bathrooms are a delight! Nice soap -- roomy and quite well decorated!"

It is at the end of our street and I would like to be able to go more often, as we used to, but it will need to be for very special occasions from now on."

  • "took my wife out for a nice diner, service was great !!!and we had a great seat by the fire place, dimmed lighting which made it really nice. my wife got the shrimp cocktail which was delish i got the french onion soup which was great. the only problem i had is they burnt my ribeye steak twice i think the grill was on way to high if they can fix the grill cooking this place would of been perfect. the manager was great tried to get me a steak that was not burnt but didn't work out. i would deff go here again oohh my wife also got the lobster which was great"

  • "Coach Grill is our favorite special occasion place, but more and more it is a hit or miss proposition. This was definitely a miss. First we ordered two appetizers. One was delivered, one was given to another table by the runner, but we eventually got it. Next I ordered prime rib; cooked medium. It came out very rare with a large chunk of fat on the tail. Our server, Catalina, said she would take it back for more fire. I swear, an assistant manager came back within sixty seconds, and showed me what I had just sent away. He asked if it was better. I looked at him like he had two heads and knew this meal was doomed. My wife's meal and the apps were very good. We had a bottle of Santa Margarita and would have had another if asked. No dessert."
