The onion soup was amazing!!! I am also a huge Bernaise sauce fan but I wasn't thrilled with it...however...the steak was so good that it didn't even need a sauce. And I thought the mashed potatos tasted like something out of a box...they were very starchy and no hint of garlic or shallots.

Wood floors very very slippery, I fell and banged up my knee. Not too much from the management as the host saw the fall and helped me up. Gave me a free dessert for my trouble. Sent management a letter about this and my injured knee, but no response yet. Many older customers should be concerned about the floors and injuries. Another women in flat heels fell as well right behind us.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2005
    Dined on 5/23/2008
Went there for my boyfriend's birthday! The food was EXCELLENT (the steaks were cooked to perfection, the sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus were delicious), and the wine list was amazing! My only complaint was that we were pretty much ignored by our waiter, and dinner took about an hour longer than it should, just because we were kept waiting for EVERYTHING - him bringing our drinks, taking our order, bringing us dessert menus, and finally bringing the check! We just kept looking at each other wondering if he would notice if we just walked out and left since he was NEVER there. He also never came by to see if our entrees were okay after they were dropped by the runner. 4 stars on food, 2 stars on service.

We've been many times. It is usually a consistently good meal. However, on our most recent visit, the steaks were not nearly as flavorful as on previous occasions. The service is always good. It's a nice alternative for a steakhouse when you don't feel like heading into Boston.

This is an elegant restaurant suitable for family occasions, a lovely dinner or a relaxing Sunday brunch. The portions are large and sometimes my husband and I split an entree. The staff is attentive and even gave my daughter a pitcher of water to bring to her highly spoiled little dog, left in the car parked in shade.

The overall experience was good. However, the lightening above us was broken so we were in dark. Instead of offering us another seat the server told us that the light was broken and their apologies. Also, the person I was dining with had to wait to eat his entree because his beer glass was empty. I guess I have been spoiled by Abe's. Overall the food was very good and the server was nice and upbeat.

Food and service was good. We were, however seated by the fireplace and the pile of wood. Three members of our party were bit by some kind of bug or bugs. We did tell the manager and were told two completely different stories about the treatment of the wood. My mom ended up with 4 bites on her face and my aunt had over 10 bites on her arm. My sister ended up with only 2 on her legs. We were offered dessert on the house, but we had already ordered dessert and we only ordered one to share between us. I thought they would comp our coffee but they did not. The manager forgot to credit the dessert even thou this happened at dessert. We had to get our waiter to find him to credit it off. So dont sit near the wood.

I have been a regular at Abe & Louies for several years now. I live outside of Boston and just recently discovered Coach Grill. However, this time I was less than pleased with the service. Although it was empty with nobody waiting, the hostess took fifteen minutes seating me (even with a reservation). The staff failed to bring water or bread, which although I do not normally care, it took another 15 minutes for service and I was hungry. It was not busy and there was no reason for this. Normally, I have had excellent service there and most of the staff is beyond exceptional. If this had been my first time there, I would not have returned unless I was not hungry and had plenty of time to kill.

In the future, we feel we cannot use Open Table for our reservations. This is the third time we have reserved thru Open Table, and each time, we have been given less than optimal seating locations. This has happened at Prezza, Rialto, and Coach Grill. At first, we thought it was a fluke, but now we realize that these restaurants think those who reserve on OT don't know any better, and they can stick them anywhere. Unfortunately, we do. We eat out a lot, and we understand what's going on. So, unfortunetly, this will be the last time we reserve with OT.

My family loves to celebrate birthdays at Coach which is close to home and always good for satisfying the urge for a great steak. For something different this time I tried the blackened Prime Rib which was delicious. The kids (and I) loved the warm homemade hot fudge sauce that accompanied the warm homemade chocolate chip cookies and would gladly have taken home a dozen. The service is always great too.

When I arrived, no one greeted my party. We sat there waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Since it was our first time there, I wasn't sure if they were busy and just were getting ready to greet but after waiting for 10-15 minutes, I approached someone and they told us they were ready to seat us. I felt that the restaurant was not inviting . The waitress was wonderful and the food was great but that initial impression was not a good one. I would question returning to the restaurant for that .

Usually excellent for steaks, but not during the last visit. They offered thier prime grade, rib-eye, bone-in for $38. I ordered it medium rare it came quite rare. I did not send it back because I can eat rare. Howverer, the piece was quite grissly for a prime grade. I was diasppointed with the beef. The appitisers were good, but the main course came shortly after the appitisers were served. Our waitress was attentive and knowledable about the menu. She was pleasant and although busy, she checked constantly on our table. Overall, I felt rushed, and was diappointed with the cut of meat. I will return to this restaurant because I believe it was an off night and my previous experiences there have been excellent.

This was my 4th visit & this time I was very disappointed w/the food. The soup was nothing special, my entree (leg of lamb) was also mundane. Another person's prime rib had much too much fat, probably 25% of the rib was just fat. Mashed potatoes were also nothing special. We ordered steamed asparagus and instead received grilled. It was not good, over done. Fruit cobbler was excellent. Prior to this occasion I would have said that it is a neighborhood gem. Now I am reluctant to return given my recent experience and the cost of dining here.

The only problem was when we decided to just order appetizers before our ordering our meal she seemed annoyed that we werent ordering everything at the same time. We just wanted to relax and space out the meal. The food was good, but I kind of felt rushed to place the whole order and that was not what the meal was about. Philip Simmons

The swordfish was great, generous portion and cooked to perfection ... Put the the special of the night -- "prime" Delmonico steak -- was anything but. It had tons of fat on it and was definitely not worth the $38 price. Was looking forward to dining here, but the main dining room is really loud, so one cannot have a good conversation in speaking across the table. Probably would not come here again. On the plus side, David our server was superb ... one of the best in the business.

Coach Grill is an outpost in an otherwise barren neighborhood. It's food is not unusual, in the scheme of steak house experiences, but it is good. Service is friendly and it was crowded on a rainy Saturday night, further attesting to its popularity. It is a good substitute for driving into Boston and spending $20 to park to eat a $30 steak. By the way, prices were moderate for this class of food with only one special over $35, and drink were positively cheap with a top shelf mixed drink at $6.50.

I ordered the prime rib, the large one with the bone.I wanted it med-well with a little pink ..It came very well done, which was fine, but the meat was very tough .I did not want to say anthing to the waitress as my husband was already eating his dinner & I did not want to have to wait for another dinner. Also, we were suposed to have an anniversary piece of cake, which my daughter spoke to someone about earlier that night and we were unaware of that until we came home & we did not get it ..over all, we do enjoy your restaurant but felt that we were let down Saturday night . thank you

I felt the food was cooked to perfection. However my husband felt for the price he expected better. The restaurant environment(and outside needs something) could use an update , a quiet nook to eat would have been nice. The service by far was the best and we have not seen that in quite a while. The web site stated a dress code but it did not seem to matter.(?) Desserts were not fresh (my husbands cheesecake was dry and not overall outstanding), though I did like the idea of the warm cookies and warm choc. but the chocolate sauce did not warm until I had enjoyed 2 cookies and could not eat anymore.
