  • "Great choices for brunch and the desserts were fantastic. Lots of vegetarian options - both savory and sweet. One thing to note is that the kitchen closes at 2:00 for Sunday brunch. On 8/17 we were the last diners and all four of our desserts were missing a full third of the promised plate (no sorbet or detailed sauces graced the Onyx dessert for example). I don't know if the kitchen staff forgot or was in a hurry because they were trying to close but it was disappointing after viewing the website and the menu."

  • "The Restaurant Week menu for Co Co. Sala was solid. Their salad starter, entree and desserts were all delicious. I appreciated that the bar offered virgin mocktail version of their cocktails. The restaurant has a very romantic feel and the menu definitely reflected that. I think, with some entrees, they could do a better job of incorporating chocolate into the dish but between the chocolate-y desserts and the frozen chocolate shot to start out with, they did a good job of not overwhelming your palate. The music, from where we were sitting, was a little too loud most of the time and the song choices are a little odd. But overall, a great experience!"

  • "Came here for Restaurant Week with a party of 3. The food was very nice, though the service felt impelled to rush through the various courses even though half the tables in the restaurant were empty. I had to physically hold my salad bowl in order to fit both mini entrees onto the little table. We were not even half-way finished with the salads. The waiter seemed unphased and simply said "take your time", seemingly unaware that he had just placed too hot dishes on the table that were quickly cooling off. The desserts were impeccable, however. I would come back for the chocolate covered bacon, dessert, and novelty of the cocktails - might head elsewhere for a romantic dinner."

Although I was disappointed that the crabcakes weren't on the restaurant week menu, I'll be back to try them another time. :) My beau and I celebrated our one year anniversary together and they surprised us by writing "Happy Anniversary" on our dessert plate! So sweet. Dessert and the 'Cocojito" was absolutely amazing! I also enjoyed the music. Bathrooms were pretty awesome too. All around great romantic lounge atmosphere. Will definitely be back."

  • "My 10 co-workers and I felt a little large and awkward at the cool Chocolate and Bubbles Happy Hour at Co Co. Sala! We were the only group there and we felt a little imposing crowing around the bar and being louder than everyone else in the place. The staff however made us feel right at home and were happy to accommodate us. It was a little expensive but there were some very unique options on the menu."

  • "We took our daughter for her 14th birthday. When we arrived for our dinner reservation, the hostess immediately acknowledged our daughter's special day- nice! The atmosphere was full of energy, great background music and decor was beautiful. Our server was so kind and ensured we understood the menu, as it was a bit different due to "restaurant week". The food was amazing - salads, sliders, salmon, tarts, flat breads, and their mac n' cheese specials - ALL DELICIOUS. The desserts, Chocolate Onyx and Tropical Tango, were the specials; they were out of this word delicious! We really appreciated the script writing birthday message and candle put on our daughter's plate."

  • "I've heard mixed reviews of Co Co. Sala, so I was skeptical. I thought restaurant week was the perfect chance to try it out. The service was excellent! Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing. If you like spicy I recommend the buffalo chicken slider. All of the food was delicious. Would I go back though? Only with the restaurant t week special pricing."

The food was good and filling. Though the portions look small, it's somehow very, very filling. We had leftovers! The bacon mac and cheese was delicious. I will definitely be back."

  • "I am not a chocolate fan, but I really enjoy dining at Co Co Sala. Almost every dish has chocolate in it. Co Co Sala's use of chocolate in their food and beverages was great. If you like cocktails, definitely try Fetish. Their strawberry flatbread and chicken caesar salad were delicious. The Summer Tango dessert that was a plate of different pineapple based desserts was a great way to end the meal. The portion size is small compared to most places, but I was still full after my meal. It does get loud in there at times."

  • "Looked for a fun place that had great food (for us) but where we could take our girls (ages 8 & 12). The lure of chocolate won us all over and didn't disappoint. It happened to be restaurant week in D.C., so the menu was really limited, but we still managed to find things we enjoyed. The asparagus/kale tart was delicious, and the shrimp mac 'n cheese was good. The bacon mac 'n cheese is really bacony, fyi. The salad, bites and dessert were just enough. Kids devoured the strawberry flatbread, and both desserts we had were awesome. Chocolate Onyx and Summer Tango. I would say kid-friendly only if the kids are a little older and semi-adventurous eaters. The bar is loud but the service was spot on."

  • "My two friends and I went for dinner during restaurant week. Once seated, it took a bit over 15 minutes for someone to greet us and get us water. While the wait time could've been shorter (considering we were there on the early side and it wasn't that crowded), once the waiter got to our table everything went smoothly. They knew exactly when to bring out each meal and each meal was delicious. I'm especially impressed by how well-portioned the meals were. The special drinks were also amazing. Since my birthday was coming up I was even happier that they brought my dessert out with a candle, the words 'happy birthday' dribbled in chocolate, and the waiter acquiesced to my request to sing to me. Loved this place! Would definitely come back."

  • "I have been here before and had awesome experiences. I tried it during Restaurant Week. The first course was a two ounce shot glass of iced hot chocolate. The second course was a Cesar salad; it was rather average with a dry frozen fried Chicken patty that cut and placed on top. I recommend using shredded deep fried chicken thighs. The salmon and shrimp and Mac were good but portions were small. The onyx dessert was the right portion and fantastic."

  • "I took a girl friend for her birthday. We both got a fancy cocktail and both were really good. We had the sweet & sour cauliflower (3 clumps with roasted kate base - awesome) and the 4 cheese fritters (5 fritters I think) to start. Both were excellent We particularly enjoyed the sauce that came with the fritters, chipotle with a chocolate finish - delicious. We got the crab cakes and beef sliders and we enjoyed both. We were stuffed! Seriously, even though the quantities were 2 each of the entres, we were stuffed! We took the waitresses suggestion and got the Black Onyx dessert and it was to die for! The mouse was incredible and my "too stuffed to have desseert" dove in with abandon. Highly recommend it."

  • "and be sure to add on the 2-hr unlimited Bubbly deal too! Fantastic. The entrees we ordered were delicious, the desserts were divine and the mimosas were divine. Normally I can only stand to drink about 2 b/c of the way the sparkling wine/champagne and the orange juice mixes with me, but for some reason the OJ and the bubbly were just right and didn't make me feel queasy. Good quality products being used. The Onyx dessert platter - do it. The Latin Love Affair dish could do with out that yellow, citrusy sauce they add (it takes away from the chocolate flavors, or so at least the 3 of us dining thought)."

  • "This seems one of those restaurants that's all about the ambience and not much about the food. Food was mediocre. Crab cakes has twice as much filling as crab. Okra and grits was sad--the tiny okra stalks were scorched. It didn't look or taste like okra at all. The one standout was the Caesar salad with chicken--but the chicken reminded me of chicken McNuggets. I imagine that this restaurant has better drinks than food. Food is way overpriced. We won't be returning."

  • "Cocktails and desserts are the only things on the menu you should be looking at, and IMO the only thing the restaurant should focus on. We have gone to this place many times and just order a dessert course and it is always fantastic. Eat dinner at Ebbitts or a more expensive place then skip dessert, give yourself time to digest and walk to Co Co. Sala and finish up with dessert to die for. The interior design is near perfect and the ambiance is relaxed with a bit of energy at the bar that spreads out to the whole establishment. They did remove the flaming baked Alaska from the menu though which we were greatly disappointed in. It was a great finisher and the secret course that was large enough for a couple!"

  • "We went for dinner after a movie at the E St Theater. I do recommend outdoor seating if you want to hear your friends discuss the movie. But the staff was wonderful--helpful, smiling and patient. The food and drinks were delicious with appropriate portions for sharing. The expresso was not hot, but readily replaced when I mentioned it. And the serotonin surge I felt the next day from that wonderful and plentiful dark chocolate was priceless."

  • "When for a dinner date with my sister who is a big chocolate fan. Unfortunately, the regular menu does not provide many chocolate infused foods and the plates are small. Service was acceptable but we had to send a dish back because we learned it had nuts in it even though we had informed the server that we were allergic prior to ordering. The cocktail list is quite fun. We had a strawberry & chocolate vodka frappe and one containing blackberry, mint and honey bourbon. Recommended for dessert (it's what they are best at) and for cocktails."
