A word from Clydz
Clydz is a lively New Brunswick destination with a subterranean atmosphere, reminiscent of a 1920's speakeasy. The freshly rose-petaled entrance is a prelude to a truly unique dining experience. At Clydz, the fare is anything but ordinary. The menu is comprised of "exotic" Contemporary American Cuisine, showcasing items such as kangaroo, ostrich, wild boar and python. Traditional favorites such as filet Mignon, scallops and duck are well worth the visit.

The cuisine is not the only element that sets Clydz apart from the rest. The trendy bar, enhanced by fish tanks and fireplaces, offers an extensive and adventurous martini and cocktail selection. Clydz own “private label” vodka was introduced fall ’11 with great success.

When making a reservation please keep in mind, tables will only be held 15 minutes past the reservation time. Due to high volume during dinner, an $18 food minimum per person is required. Reservations for cocktails only are not accepted.

  • "I was on a date... The acoustics were horrible. I had to shout to my date. When the server came to wait on us, he was shouting the specials of the day to us. Romantic? Not. I could hardly swallow my food it was like being at chucky cheese with kids...only these were adults. Not a great fun night. ugh"

  • "Although Clydz is an opportunity to experience food you won't easly find anywhere else the obvious elbow to the jaw( no apology), plates in the face loud drawn out service just about drowns out the unique menu. Overcrowded and understaffed bar means slow slow slow drinks. Begging for water and a less disruptive staff left us all disappointed. We wanted to love it. The python meat is overwhelmed with spices to the point you really don't know you are eating snake which cheats you out of an experience. The Kangaroo was great. I always loved Clydz but I can't afford to leave with disappointed clients again. Sorry."

  • "clydz has a really interesting menu, with a lot of exotic choices and game tastings. I'm a vegetarian (thought I eat fish) so my friend and I just sampled a bunch of apps because their non-meat choice for dinner were limited. Crab cucumber salad, ahi tuna and avocado tartare and grilled octopus were all delicious. The portabella lobster stack was the only item that wasn't very good--the lobster was very tough and chewy. We couldn't even cut it. The martinis as always were superb. I can never go without having at least two or three!"

There is something for everyone here, however you are more likely to enjoy it if you don't mind trying exotic fare (kangaroo for example). I am not an adventurous eater but the salmon I had was wonderful. My husbands venison was perfectly cooked and he loved the oysters. The Mac and cheese was addictive too! Extensive martini menu too."

  • "I went for a birthday dinner and it was lovely. Ambiance could be better but we're talking New Brunswick, not New York, so it's okay. The restaurant is dimly lit and has lovely rose petals on the entrance steps. The cocktails seemed unusually small to me and served in cheap-looking glassware but the ones that I tried tasted excellent. Food was great as well. Not the best but definitely very good for the area. On the pricier side but worth it."

Our server, Gene, was attentive and very knowledgeable which also made our dining experience even better. And the martini selection, don't even get me started..... Fabulous dining experience!!"

  • "Clydz is a must-visit restaurant for anyone who enjoys trying new things. First of all, their cocktail menu is amazing and a mile long. They make it easy to follow by sorting it by type of liquor. Their dinner menu is full of wild game options (python ravioli, Elk and rattlesnake chili, kangaroo, bison, wild boar, venison, etc.) You can also get more traditional items like steak, duck, pork chops, etc. Its a very classy restaurant with a great front bar at the entrance, and something for everyone. We'll be coming back to try more of the items that we couldn't get to!"

  • "Loved the drinks, loved the service, loved the ambiance. I had a the brie and cranberry salad to start, and it was amazing. The filet I had for dinner was good- though not the best I've ever had. The side risotto was delicious, and the side mac and cheese was pretty good. Overall I liked the food a lot, but didn't think it was the most outstanding. Still a great place to have a nice night out. The restaurant was also super accommodating when our party changed numbers twice. I'm sure we'll be back."

  • "My boyfriend and I were blown away by the rose petals everywhere. red, pink, yellow, white. So beautiful! The ambiance was perfect, and so wonderful that they gave women diners long stemmed roses as they left. The service was excellent, and the food was great. In fact, as vegetarians, we were surprised they only had one veggie entree. One of the side dishes, the pappardelle with truffle cream sauce, was one of the most exceptional dishes we'd ever had, and ought to be an entree! Absolutely nothing negative to say about the experience."

Free champagne and a rose for me at the end of our meal. The food and service were wonderful. Very impressed with the staff. My martini was fabulous! We would go again we traveled 45 mins so probably not back for a while but it's a good choice"

  • "Arriving in a vibrant bar scene and being guided to a more quiet dining area strewn with rose petals was wonderful. The Staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and sensitive to our time constraints. We had delicious cocktails and enjoyed the most amazing deviled eggs with duck confit and a selection from the raw bar. It was nice to be able to relax and enjoy our appetizers before the entree. I thoroughly enjoyed my leg of lamb and husband his game sampler but the true hero of the meal was the truffle and bacon Mac and cheese. I only wish we had more time to partake in the succulent desserts we saw delivered to tables around us. The food was pricey for our everyday budget, but the next time we have a date night we shall return for dessert."

  • "Clydz is definitely a hidden gem among the regular scene in New Brunswick. The food is always perfectly cooked and the presentation is beautiful. Not to mention the wild items on the menu. The drinks of course are very unique; they have such a large selection it might take a while to pick one. I went this valentines and our candle lit evening was lovely. However, most often than not I'm here getting a cocktail with my best friend. Perfect spot. See you next time."

  • "Clydz is a favorite of mine for a long time now. Went this week for an early Valentine's dinner (the man had to work on the actual day). I mentioned this when they called to confirm our reservation and when we arrived, they had spread rose petals on the table, which we thought was a nice touch. As always, excellent drinks and food; their cocktails are creative, delicious, and strong, and the food is prepared to perfection, whether you get crazy and try the elk & rattlesnake chili or stick with the classics, like chicken. Service was stellar as well. Loved our waiter. Because we were unable to partake of their Valentine's Day specials, they gave us a free dessert. Again, unnecessary, but it's that little extra that makes them special."

  • "Took my wife out for an early Valentines Day for lunch. I had the grilled chicken monte Cristo sandwich which was definitely different but pretty darn good. My wife had the lump crab cakes which was excellent. We also had the lobster bisque soup which was the best lobster bisque I've ever had. Service was very good and adequate but not amazing- probably because it got busy. Ambiance is nice and the place is very clean. Very nice place to go with friends or your mate. I definitely recommend this place."

  • "We came to Clydze for a last minute bachelorette party dinner. There were 8 of us, 6 of us ordered apps 2 did not, because the server didn't want them to feel left out they gave them complimentary house salads. Everyone ordered a drink for the person to their left, our server may have thought this crazy but she humored us, this was not such a good idea as my drink tasted like Robitussin. We had a good laugh about this. Otherwise, we had a great time and our food was amazing."

  • "I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We both loved it. The selection of wild game was great. We started off with a selection of orysters. They had a good selection of east and west cost oysters. Next we shared the elk and rattlesnake chili which was very good but if you cannot tell the difference between the elk and rattlesnake. He ordered the kangaroo which was our favorite. I ordered the game tasting dish. All of the meats were made perfectly. I also ordered a green tea martini which was delishish. We will definitely be going back."

  • "I'm not an adventurous eater so I steered clear of the kangaroo loin..lol. I had the buffalo ribeye which was delicious and much more tender than a normal ribeye. My husband had the rattlesnake chili and he liked it a lot. The cocktails were delicious except for the Pimms Cup which was not good (to me). The oysters were off the charts delicious and so was the cheese flight. We will return!"

Extensive array of hot & cold starters and good variety of main dishes - one of those restaurants where almost everything sounds good & you can't make up your mind what you want. My husband & I do not eat red meat, but there was PLENTY to choose from nonetheless. Prices were decent also (although some of the special game dishes were higher priced). Would definitely come back. Staff was very personable and attentive."

  • "Love the martini's and drinks here, hands down, some of the best! Although the glasses seem to be a bit on the small side in my opinion. Food was good given the unusual items like buffalo, antelope and kangaroo oh my! Calamari salad was on point, so were the potato stick fries, but I do without the different forms of game. Also loveeeed the dessert! Gorgonzola ice cream sounds odd, but I assure you it was amazing!"
